Wet belts should have been withdrawn a long time ago , Ford i believe were first with it [ F O R D,/ Found on road dead ] to days engineers are governed by accountants which leads to unreliable vehicles .

I was told recently that Stelansis / PSA etc are now covering the wet for life so long as the car is serviced by the main dealers . Prior to this update it was for 10 years . I change the oil / filter mid term between services as de-graded oil seems to contribute to degradation of the belt. Expensive but hoping to avoid early issues .We have the 2022 Vauxhall Grandland . Needs to be the 0w 20 B71 2010 spec oil otherwise they will want to charge you.

Wet timing belt is the worst invention ever. They must have paid an engineer to go ahead with such desaster. Because everyone knows that this is going to happen over time. Plenty of those engines are destroyed due to no or low oil pressure. You should never buy that engine they use i a lot of brands from Stellantis!

The two little gauze filters were not cleaned out one by exhaust cam sprocket. And other in access hatch

I have done some of these and many other engines, belts, chains blah, blah and there's one thing I always do if the crank seal is in the cover and that is I position the cover using the crank pulley to centre it, it's 100% without doubt central then put the fixings in. But your video is faultless, thank you.😊

The belt need not be replaced unless it does not meet the specification. If it does require replacement, the vacuum pump must also be replaced. ➢ If the oil pump screen is slightly plugged, it must be cleaned; the oil pump solenoid valve must be replaced; the variable valve timing solenoid valves can either be cleaned or replaced; the hollow screw of the oil supply line to the turbo must be replaced; and of course the vacuum pump and the complete engine valve timing system must be replaced. ➢ If the screen is completely plugged, the oil pump must also be replaced. And in all cases, the engine control unit must be reprogrammed to - as the recall notice states - "update the engine control unit for the purposes of improving the power brake system diagnostics and to eliminate any risk of reduction or loss of braking function." I would have changed at least the oil pump as well, and possibly the vacuum pump given the amount of crud in the strainer.

Don't put the sump on till you've done the belt in case you drop something I know

Surely you should give it a couple of rotations via the crankshaft pulley, and re-check tension, before capping off the tensioner cover?
