I was in this house in 1984 when it was owned by the church. My friends grandmother was a maid and let us come and see it. It was called Bishops mansion as it was his home under the Catholic Church. The bunker “safe”was full of old literature and books hundreds of years old. The food was brought up from a kitchen basement by an elevator trolly directly into the upstairs dining room. Nice to see again although 200% more modern and repaired ❤

I have been in love with the McGrath Mansion since I was a kid. Even as an adult I still park and walk around the block just to stare at it. I totally feel her when she talked about watching it start to decline. I am so grateful they bought and restored it. Like her I have always wanted to go inside and tour it. Edmonton has never been good at keeping old architecture. Long history of tearing everything down and building boxes. It's heart breaking really.

it's sad to have a $3 million house and no privacy. My goodness why not buy a double lot and actually make it look nice. Sadly most new areas in Edmonton houses are just crammed together, makes you feel like flying a discount carrier economy class.

I hate it when they are so focused on the dang car that doing a real good look at the house. Heats so so e ual about TV at car.

I count 45 solar panels, which gives you approximately an 16-18kW system. Which ideally would have been larger to meet all the energy needs of the home. I suspect that it is heated with gas. This home is full of gas appliances - two outdoor fireplace, two BBQs, a gas range, and a indoor gas fireplace. I would hardly consider it "the solar house" - it is just a big house with some solar on it. Finally, the valuation of this home (7559 May Common NW) is at best $1.75 Million. It's a nice home, but this video is overselling it by a lot. You should be proud, but also honest.

The house videography is on point, I think the car showcasing is a little bit overdone in the beginning. Maybe cut some of the scenes out, especially the engine roaring near the end during the house orbit. Other than that good job!

Thank you for the post. My Great Grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Lorne C. Haugh owned a home on Ada Boulevard back around this time. Their youngest son is now in his mid 90's. The house is long gone now. I drove past here the other night with my Mom. It was very well decorated for Christmas. I have always been drawn to this house. My favorite on Ada Boulevard. 🎄💕🎄
