An excellent, realistic portrayal of NYC of the 1970s. I lived through it. You are a great storyteller.

The content of this video is fantastic. I really enjoyed the unbiased and detailed approach to this history that's often glazed over by others. I will say that I wouldn't bat an eye at the AI use if it wasn't for historical context, just because it can generate visual inaccuracies. Some of the group police images that are clearly AI are really jarring. But I appreciate the acknowledgment of its use, so it doesn't feel disingenuous.

Great video but the music between 1:35 and 1:49 is louder than the essence message of the video "at least it's not the 1970s". Maybe you should revise it and make the narration louder or the music lower...

The 70s in NYC were great. Prostitution pornogrphy liberal politics slum lords delapadated unlivivable apartments. Crime sex drugs rock n roll culture welfare food stamps street gangs etc. However there were plenty of good things too and while for many things were tough i had plenty of good times. Sports street games neighborhood great food great toys and other play things great cars fun clothing classy dress realistic and good prices for quality items a better dollar value for everything. Great free TV. Great programs for adults and kids. The Good Humor man and Bungalo Bar Ice cream trucks. I can name so many things that were better, better quality than most of what we pay for today. You had a greater appreciation for the little you did have then the abundance of junk we have today and at over inflated prices at that! I would have those days over if I could for the things I enjoyed and appreciated. Though on welfare with a single mom. The Bronx I knew as a kid and teen in the 70s is forever gone. That Bronx no longer exists and it isnt any better with the current inhabitants.

70s, no apostrophe. It's plural not possessive. If you're self-conscious, it must need an apostrophe, then it goes in front as a substitute for 19. '70s.

The 1980's might have been the rock bottom. The 1984 "subway vigilante" actions seemed to wake up everyone (thank you Bernie Goetz). Things didn't really start improving until after 1994 when Bill Bratton became NYPD Commisioner.

They'd probably have done for the Vietnam Vet what they did for the WW2 Vets, if the Civil rights Act hadn't passed and they could still discriminate against Black Vets for all those benfits.
