I haven’t had Facebook for 10 months, and deleted IG, Snapchat 2 weeks ago. I really felt like no one truly was my friend and it was all a facade. It’s a bit lonely but it feels better than comparing myself to others. I’ve had social media since I was 10 and I’m 26 💀

Oh trust me, social media is a garbage machine. Its a tool designed perfectly to classically condition us. We dont realize how altered our behaviors have been as a result of it. It causes depression, you feel the need to present yourself as perfect. Which in itself is inhumane, perfection is for the Gods, not humans.

Just deactivated my TikTok yesterday and unfollowed everyone from Instagram today lol, my Instagram is still up in case anyone messages me, but thus far I haven’t received anything. I’m kind of making it out to be a social experiment.

I hope this doesn't come across as judgemental, but it strikes me as "very much caring about what others think" when a video creator preemptively addresses their frizzy hair, shiny skin, changing lighting, or (in other cases) a pimple, a piece of lint on their shirt, nasal voice because of a cold, an unruly strand of hair, and any small detail that wouldn't have really mattered had they said nothing about it. It takes me out a bit, because it derails focus to something that isn't the point of the video, and it makes me a bit sad thinking that they owe others perfection and have to point out their own flaws before anyone else does. I don't see this going away anytime soon, because someone will always be ready to comment on it, and it probably doesn't really matter, but those are my two cents

went and deleted Facebook. I was trying way too hard on there being someone that I am not portraying an online persona to have people perceive me a certain way that I wasn't being my true authentic self. Not only that, I also believe that social media contributes to consumerism with keeping up with the joneses. I see people purchasing $1000 worth of merch through amazon just to show it off to strangers to get likes and validation, too. Now that I am off of it, I no longer have to stress so much.

I'm going to be 5 years in December since I deleted everything! Then I only downloaded UA-cam on my laptop. After a year I deleted WhatsApp. I tried once to go back to Instagram and WhatsApp mostly because of the pressure of “friends” and I couldn't stand a month and deleted the new account and I won't go back. The best decision I made and just wish everybody could feel freedom and be alive again in the real world. My husband did the same, and then my brother, and a friend, and all of them felt the same. I'm happy for you and loved this video

This month will be a year since i deleted Instagram and it was the best decision i ever made. More peaceful, been more creative and productive and ive been living in the moment more. It also helped me let the past go and toxic people that no longer mattered

Congrats! On your journey, You are actually truly living your life now! Constant validation and stimulation from social media sites leads you to live a fake life, where you loose yourself. To your friends or anyone else, please don’t apologise for changing your life for the better, just remember that everyone else is addicted and cant pull away, but you did it! You’re free now! As society we have lost connection with each other because of this lot of marriages start to fall apart. Instead of us living our lives, the digital world is living our lives for us. Enjoy every minute of your life, live it for yourself and your partner, take care.

I recently just got off social media again for like the 3rd time in the past few years. And every time I get off of it I feel better. More connected to those around me. More present where my feet are planted. And more happy. I definitely hope to stay off of it for at least a year or MORE. I was getting really sick of it, it's all fake. The thing is, social media can not replace real socialization...like at all. It brings you tons of anxiety, no deep connections with people and severe self misunderstanding
