June 20, 2011 Long Island, KS Tornado
Team Honey Badger chasers Mark 'Storm' Farnik and Zach Young documented an EF3 tornado that struck Norton County, KS on June 20, 2011 for over twelve minutes of its life cycle. This clip is the best two minutes of the tornado's life cycle, when it became nearly stationary in a field just north of Kansas Highway 383. Time of the video was between 2:44 and 2:46 p.m. CDT, six miles west/southwest of Long Island, KS.

Переглядів 4,1 тис.13 років тому
Team Honey Badger storm chasers Mark 'Storm' Farnik and Zach Young had an extreme close up encounter with a strong tornado northwest of Long Island, Kansas on June 20, 2011. We had been chasing the supercell for some time and were observing several tornadoes when we accidentally drove onto a dead end road, and we turned around and started heading back south. The tornado suddenly appeared out of...
Wynnewood, OK Multi-Vortex Tornado - 5/19/2010
Переглядів 27 тис.14 років тому
This is my footage of the incredible multi-vortex tornado (with attendant satellite) that occurred southwest of Wynnewood, OK on 5/19/2010. Myself and fellow Colorado chaser Eric Treece filmed the rapidly rotating mesocyclone until it was practically on top of us before bolting east and south to this hill and started filming just before the tornado formed approximately 3/4 of a mile to our nort...

Now if would suck up some of these "storm chasers" we would be better off without all the nervous laughter and shouting. Morons.

Kamoqus she tornado
There are funnel clouds sticking down across a 4 mile wide area
Were there multiple hooks or something?
Too bad folks who record these things can't seem to shut the f**K up. Why don't they let the VIDEO and audio speak for themselves Too much HYPE... F.
Wow all the faces you see in the clouds crazy shit
"Vortex" is singular; the plural is "vortices." ("Multiple-vortex" is still acceptable as an adjective however.) Usually people use the correct words, but in a situation where they are referring to the plural "vortices" and then want to revert to the singular, they end up saying "vortice" (simply taking the "s" off "vortices," a nonsense word) instead of "vortex." They seem to experience a brain fart when going backward. Not sure why so many people do it, but you'll hear it a lot in these videos. It's a curious phenomenon.
Ooohhh, shut UP!! 😠
this is my fav tornado...
I used to live about 30 minutes from there in Logan, KS. I've never seen a tornado though. :/
Wow
Also if there is anyone out there that has footage just a little farther east between 2:44 and 2:51 i am trying to locate footage of the home we were living in on the north side of the road by the county line being destroyed by the tornado. i was in the basement with my 4 kids when the tornado took our house and barn.
@TressieMcReynolds the farm they go by 20 second into the video is Bob Dole's home. it move his home about 10 ft.off the foundation and took out his big metal barn/building across the road. this tornado was just alittle east of Almena. my husband watched it from the elevator.
nice video...bet you don't want to do that again...lol
Specifically, this tornado crossed just South of Dole's then crossed the prairie dog just east of the road. My Grandmother's farm is where it crossed the prairie dog. It then crossed the highway and took out that farm house just north of the highway.
long island is my home town..... and this was more like 2-3 miles west of almeana kansas cuz i recognize the fam on north side of road..
Nice. Glad it was in open fields.
Holy crap dude! Glad you made it out okay!
You guys are crazy. LOL. Good video though.
That is a sweet video. I was 4 or so miles east of it unloading a truck load of fuel when I shot my videos. That was not something that I expected to see that day. I am glad I had my camera with me though.
haha yea id be sayn o shit too!!... o wait I WAS!! those tornados distroid friends houses and land and where with in 3 miles of mine all the way around!
Any specifics of location? I assume you're on KS-383 between Long Island and Almena.
OMG, thats the best shot of this tornado. many thanks for sharing.

@njkellie1 Yeah me too. I like to watch tornadoes but if i would see one in real i think i would run away
Great capture!
I'd run away and take cover.... I would never do that. I'd be too chicken.
