The TOP 10 REDDIT Travel Hacks- Tested
You’re so funny, I love it! Will recommend your channel to all my friends 😄 looking forward to more content.
I love my collapsible water bottle. It’s slightly different but it’s a must have when I travel.
The best video I’ve seen on travel essentials. So glad I found your channel.
Wendy! Wow, that is such a kind comment. Appreciate you being here!
do the tomtoc bags have rfid protection?
Yes on the sling from Tomtoc. The backpack I would have to look into more, but I would hope Tomtoc included RFID protection on that one as well. Thanks for commenting!
@@JustBookedIt i really enjoy your channel-informative and fun!
Detergent sheets are a good idea but for the love of god get the unscented ones.
Pros use a titanium water bottle. This heavy contraption is hard to clean and too heavy
I like the field notes notebooks - just a bit smaller. I add a stack of 10 or so post its to the inside back cover. Allows to leave a little message or leave a note somewhere without ripping out a page - plus it sticks!
For Cheap Flights I simply go to Google Flights and check their calendar to see what days have the cheapest flight and I book for those days
Wow. Brilliant! Thanks for the tip!
0:28 is that inside an airplane? what airline is that? looks like a chair you would use at a library.. and the space is worse than inside the back of the police car 😅
I have that tomtoc bag, the 4.5L one. Its great. Taken it to Disney, Prague, Vienna and so on. Great size and fit. Bag Hack: I run a zip tie around the buckles for a little extra security.
Awesome! Yes, I love that tomtoc bag. Great for travel and everyday use. I was actually thinking about how easy it would be to unclip when I was reviewing it. What a great bag hack. Thanks for the tip. I will use that in the future. Appreciate you being a part of our community.
I can second your recommendation on the Soundcore Anker Q45 headphones. I’ve had a pair for 2 years and they are excellent for the price. The noise cancellation is very good. By my estimate the ANC is 80% as good as Bose at 1/3 rd the price. I’ve used them almost every day during that 2 years and they’re holding up well.
David! Yes, you said it better than me. The value to cost ratio is so good. Appreciate your insight in the headphones!
good video, but its another with really low audio .
Dah! Thanks for the insight. I am working on trying to get better audio with each video. Hope to correct it with the next one.
@@JustBookedItdidn’t have any issues with the audio. Thanks for a great video.
First off, does the bag fit under the sit at all? Second, did you go to Zadar as well? P.S. You look like Jockovic.
Your profile picture is wild. We did not make it to Zadar. Have you been? The bag fits under the seat no problem. Unless it is fully packed out then it is a very tight fit.
@JustBookedIt Yeah, I asked because I went there a few months ago, and the sceneries you showed in your video reminded me of that place. Nice although on the pricey side. Anyway, seems like the control over bags dimensions is not so strict, isn't it?
Great video! Your link to the travel router takes me to the Goodr shades instead. 😎
Dah! Thank you for the help with this. Getting some shades instead of a travel router would be a travel disaster. (seriously thanks for pointing this out 🙌)
It's great that you clarify that you bought these items. I'm fine with sponsored content and respect that it may be a good product, but I don't think many of the reviewers would willingly pay for the product or will be using the item following the review.
Thanks for the comment! It is hard to decipher what is paid content these days. Hopefully you found some good stuff.
great video!
Thanks so much! Hope you found some good stuff for home and travel. 😁 ✈️
Useful tips, if only there were the links to them.
Legit tips, storytelling, entertaining - your channel is about to blow up my friend!! LOL'd at 5:33 😂😂
Aly, what an amazing comment! Thank you for the kind words. I showed this comment to my wife and it made our day! That part took a few takes- so so happy to hear it made you lol! Absolutely love what you and Chris are doing with your channel 👏👏. I look forward to seeing your Portugal content come out!
Subscribed. 👍🏻
Thanks so much! That means a ton!
well I will never walk to the airport so I almost clicked off your video.. Instead I just did FFWD. and THEN when you went to SPIRIT, well that was the end of the video for me.. HORRIBLE airline.. don't do it!!!
My hearing aids have Bluetooth (paired with my phone) so it's convenient if that's how the entertainment is delivered. Also quiet for neighbours on the plane! But I do miss my trusty Bose noise cancelling headphones. Thanks for great content. New subscriber in Canada ❤
That is a nice feature! Have you tried one of those bluetooth connectors that plug into the plane entertainment system with your hear aids? That would be so cool if they just connected for you. Nothing like a good pair of noise canceling headphones. Thanks for subscribing! That means a ton ❤️. A friendly Canadian is always welcome into the community!
I plan my big trips 10 months in advance and then book the ticket. This has the advantage of allowing me to pick a good seat. Then every month I go back and look and make sure that the price has not lowered.
Honestly there are so so many tips and tricks out there. The 10 month rule is probably the best one. Then going back and checking to see if you can bump down on the price. You obviously know what you are doing when it comes to booking cheap flights ✈️. Thanks for the insightful and informative comment. Appreciate you being here!
Amazing tips! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate it!
These are some great items, i would argue against the no rinse laundry detergent...you are already in a strange place when travelling which has your immune system on alert even if you arent sick, you dont need anything lingering behind on your skin causing rash. If you use these chances are it rinses pretty easily because it probably doesnt have a lot of sudsing agents. So take a second to rinse it and get those chemicals out of your fabric. Also arguing against the soap papers for handwashing. If your hands are dirty you have to rummage around with the container with dirty germy hands. If your hands are wet then you ruin all the soap papers to get one out. Alternative to both is a 2oz bottle of dr bronners soap. There are a bunch of scents of dr b but they have unscented too. I would recommend tea tree one because it is antibacterial. Good for scalp, feet, body odors, face, first aid, body wash, baby wash. And can wash your clothes with it. Make some travel wipes with it for hotel and airplane suefaces. Paper towels soaked in mild soapy water and zipper bag it. Liquid is best for various uses (dilite for what you need) but solid bar soap is god for travel and is not going to spill. Most bar soaps are 4 oz and can be cut down for size.
Great advice! Appreciate the informative comment. I am working on a video for sink laundry while traveling. It will be great to include some of these tips!
I'd love to see how long it took you to get olive oil out of that plastic folding bowl.
God ole Bee-Dub-Yuh-I.
Love it! Haha 😂 from Baltimore and use that airport constantly and I have never seen it spelled that way. Might have to steal that one. Thanks for the great comment!
@@JustBookedIt haha, it was my first time watching your videos and I said to myself, "Wait, I know that street!" 😅
I prefer a 35L pack because it will fit on every airline and it discourages me from packing too much. I’ve done 6 three week trips to Europe with a 35L bag. I just have to do laundry a few times during the trip.
David, so true! The 35L bags tend to be a great mix of size and storage. The 45L packt bag is just a little too big! Next time I will try the 35L version. As always thanks for being such an active member of our community! Appreciate you. 🙌
re: laundry detergent, just put dawn soap on toiletry container...
awesome suggestions!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the kind words!
Easily the only list of travel products I have watched in the last decade. The clothes line has been all of our trips for decades but a few of these are entirely new to me. Thanks😊
I am honored that you chose to watch this video! You are clearly well traveled if you have been using the clothes line trick. Thanks for the great comment!
Delta???
Loving the notepad idea. Simple and efficient.
Thanks so much! The kids have fun putting airplane, train tickets and pictures in the books also. Almost like a mini scrap book.
@JustBookedIt yeah, that's the aspect I like the most. I have online notes/calendar entries shared with my better half but having a physical token related to the upcoming trip, even still in the planning phase, would solve lots of planning issues for us. Definitely stealing!
I’ve been using the Amazon Basics packing cubes for several years and I think they are good for organizing my stuff. For dirty laundry I use a large ziplock bag that I compress. I haven’t felt the need for compression bags because I travel very light.
Light travel is the way to go David! Thanks again for commenting and being a part of the community.
I have the blue hills thinner blanket and never take a trip without it. It is so warm and light I use it under the hotel sheets as it’s big enough to cover and snuggle with. Well worth the slight inconvenience of packing. Plane blankets aren’t washed frequently, so gross!
I will have to look into the blue hills blanket. If a blanket is important for long trips it is nice to have one!
Neither earbuds nor over ear - I loved traveling with my rayban meta glasses!
Just got a pair of the Raybans. Going to do a video on how and why to travel with them. Thanks for the comment! Any use cases for the meta glasses that you really enjoy while traveling!?
@JustBookedIt Good, hands-free way to record walks thru town or thru the Acropolis, in cathedrals (even some respectful but contraband basiloca photos because no flash, sshh). Or driving on switchbacks! Eyes forward, people. I used them kayaking in the mangrove tunnels with my dog, and they do very well! Just as good as the galaxy fold on standard mode. The stereo sound worked fine on the plane and don't pop out of my must-be-misshapened ears. Just wish I didn't look like Buddy Holly wearing them, lol
Great innovative video. I heard to book on a sunday, 2 months before the flight was the best and fly mid week from someone working in the travel industry but i would love to check if true.
Thanks so much for letting me know your flight tip! Appreciate the kind words about the video.
Fabric spray. If my clothes are just a little smelly, spraying them is easier, faster, and cheaper than washing. Except underpants. Wash those every wear.
Spraying alcohol on the clothes will kill the smell too, a theatre trick apparently
Great idea! I will have to give this a try.
I do some of these already!
Nice! Thanks for watching!
Fun trip! I love to explore and love your adventurous spirit. I’ve had good luck buying miles when they go on sale, then book travel with miles. Heading to Europe on Sunday first class, bought with miles!
Thanks so much for the comment! Buying miles when they go on sale is great trip. First class to Europe! Sounds amazing. Your vacation officially starts when you board the plane. ✈️ Have a great trip!
Very helpful video. For once it is the other way around. What you don't need.
Thanks for the kind words! Happy traveling. 👌
Fantastic info! I too have booked cheaper with Spirit at the airport! I saved $258!! I totally appreciate the effort to make this video! 😂 And thank you for picking up litter along the way!!
Afton! Thanks for commenting. It was your story that inspired the whole video. Appreciate you telling Allie about this tip. ✈️
Tape attached to gift card is a good one. Hand sanitizer is useless (germs dont cause disease).
So remind me to decline an invite to vacation with you! Germs def cause GI issues along with many other illnesses. Sources: Lister, Pasteur, Nightingale and many more.
Oh la la, you just created a need ... (The white noise machine).!
We love using that on our trips! So much better than using your phone.
I use the exact same one every single night. It’s on as i type this. .
You must live in Mayberry! No homeless people in the underpass!
Very entertaining. You are such a man😅
Glad you found it funny! Appreciate you watching. Happy travels!
The best ticket prices we ever got was when I told my husband that he would never be able to find tickets to London for less than $500. That was all he needed . . . He stayed up half the night looking for flights on his computer. The next morning we had 2 round trip tickets from the US to London for $500 each. It took a little bit longer to get there because we had to fly to LAX, change airlines, and head to London from there, but that was just part of the adventure. 😊
What an great story! Its like telling my kids I bet they can't be ready in 20 seconds then I start counting. Hopefully the trip to London was great! Appreciate the flight tip.
This was a cool test! ❤
Great packing/travel tip. Love the idea of doing a little extra upfront to enjoy being stress free on the last day of the cruise.
Good for you to walk that far and even better to pick up litter! My flight savings tip is probably obsolete. In the past some of the large tour companies would book a large block of seats on a flight and if they didn’t sell all the seats for the tour they would offer them cheaply through a travel agency. Many years ago my wife and I got cheap round trip tickets between Chicago and Zurich that way, basically half price. Tour companies still offer flights as part of their tours but I haven’t seen any offers for those seats. I also haven’t visited a travel agency in this century, but they still exist.
Thanks David! Appreciate the comment and support. That is a great flight tip. Wow. I wonder if that is still something you could pull off today? My wife told me she exchanged a few emails with you via her newsletter. Appreciate your support! Means a ton. ✈️ 😁
