Great analysis. Interesting review. Thanks alot.
Watched the first one with my daughter just a few weeks ago and she laughed all the way through. She is 17 but it was not the same as reaction I had aged 13😂 This one, no.2, is definitely more sinister and psychological. However my favourite has to be either the first or New Nightmare, I love the meta-ness of that one.
Can't argue on that!
Good chat about a childhood favourite of mine! Think i saw it aged 10 after staying up very late on TV, just fun and silly and does what it set out to do. The other Tremors movies, not so great.
Great interview! Such cool information on movie scores
Glad you enjoyed!
This was such a fun chat! Thank you so much for asking me to be a guest- I’m always flattered and honored that anyone wants to talk to me about my life and passions! All my best!!
Agreed on the Halloween Ends ranking, I prefer it to any other final movie in a continuity for this franchise and the end for Michael was really fitting for his character.
@@capsule2323 it’s nice to find some that like it! I’ll rerelease this at some point without the video blackout at the end haha
@@primetime_mitch haha i saw that. i thought it mightve been cut because of copyright issues 🤣
@@capsule2323 sadly it was an editing issue haha thanks so much for the sub mate - got a great interview coming up tomorrow
This is a good sequel could been better. What I especially like bout part 2 is Freddy character was decent, he was very dark and evil. And the makeup was very scary and cool.
Great review Mitch. Never considered the horror angle of this film but it's definitely there, as you say. Yes there is a little bit of hicksploitation in this movie. Thanks for the great review. Keep 'em coming.
This film has a sinister Freddy!!!
@@DanielGarcia-us7tf absolutely my favourite version of him
Decent sequel Freddy was evil in it, i think the problem was bringing Freddy out of the dream and into the real world
Kerry was a Greek god! This was a tragic family. I just really wish they would have found a way to bring Chris into the movie and separate him from Mike. Chris’ story was sad too. Being from north Georgia, wrestling was a big part of my life in the late 70s and early 80s and I was a big Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy fan pre Freebirds fame and I know the Freebirds and the Von Erich’s were big rivals. But yes this movie was way over due. And yes, here in the south, we still say ma’am and sir.
@@marilynkirby-roach187 thanks for that! Practically everyone has a movie worthy story in wrestling I find
@@primetime_mitch yes it seems like a lot of them either die young or in some tragic way.
You did NOT say Whalewolf there at the end. Don't you dare!! PLEASE!!! I don't know how you guys watch these flicks but more power to you. I did the whole 52 mins. with ya'll. Arghhhhh...... Miss Horror was delightful though. Great production but weren't you supposed to cut and let Amy do her re-take at the end when she was giving her rating for this? Or not. I'm no Felinni. Thanks Primetime and Co. that was fun. (No Whalewolves!!)
@@electrolytics haha I’m not sure - I’ll have to watch it back myself now
This movie has the BEST CGI quality in the world
This film does have a lot of issues but it's a convincing effort in a lot of areas.
@@duncancurtis5108 I’d say I’d certainly watch again
I've watched it a billion times but in the 80s I couldn't face it after seeing the crash sequence.
@@duncancurtis5108 that's an outrageous scene for its time
Brilliant video and analysis here mate! Rik Mayall was amazing and this film is a perfect showcase. Sad but predictable that the Americans didn’t get it at all..!
Missed this but looks alright. Nice review.
Great review Mitch. Great insights and I appreciate your taste in films. Take care buddy, until next time.
@@electrolytics thanks dude
In this films defense, it’s the last movie in the entire franchise that focuses on Freddy being terrifying just like the original film, before he becomes a wisecracking goofball afterward. Elm Street 2 was quite creative, also.
@@ThomasDrish oh I def talk about Freddy being the best version here - it’s the ultimate Freddy in my opinion. I try to mention at the end that if this was a standalone movie its rating would go up. It’s by no means lower tier
Loved the reaction. Grady's death is actually my favorite in the entire franchise. The kill itself, I agree, is nothing exceptional. But everything surrounding it is just tremendous. Freddy is at his most terrifying here. He says absolutely nothing, and he doesn't have to. His gestures/mannerisms (the evil smile and that "you're done" nod) tell the whole story, and Robert Rusler did a great job of conveying that fear. Agree that this Freddy is the best!
My favorite nightmare!
@@bernardbalizet5173 it’s fair man - I can understand - it has such a cult following!
Mine as well. I think it gets a lot of unnecessary hate. I love the tone of this one and Part 4 as well
I love how homoerotic this one is! Glad you watched it!
Yo Mitch!! Just breezing through to say hello. Got no comment on this flick. I like your work though. Look forward to the next one. Thanks.
@@electrolytics thanks very much! 🙏🏻
How about this ? Revenge and Return of the Living Dead are in the same universe, Jesse’s dad has moved his family because his employees have unleashed the zombie apocalypse a town or two over. It explains why Jesse’s dad is always so grouchy too lol . Jesse was asleep in class and Grady or someone put the snake on him as a prank.
@@brandonjackson5865 now that’s a theory 😆
This part makes no sense
@@paulaustinbailey something about Clu Gulager’s cherrybomb accusation that breaks me
I'll bet she'll love The classic Larger Than Life
Never saw this movie. There were so many good movies coming out at this time, this one just got overlooked by the family. We didn't get to go to the movies that often to begin with. By the time this movie would have been available to see again on tape or cable I just considered it a kid's flick. I was a cool teenager, couldn't be bothered watching E.T....lol.
this is a unique reason! haha
@@primetime_mitch Thanks for another cool review. Your guest reviewer was great.
@@electrolytics aww thanks - that’s my partner Amy ♥️
@@primetime_mitch E.T. a childhood classic of course, glad Amy liked it, but if you want to change the mood a little bit, how about the next being the 1984 "Ghostbusters" unless Amy has already seen it.
@@heatsinker_5517 She has but no harm in watching! :)
E.T. is a classic!
37:30 Agreed - Spice World is a national treasure and should have been nominated for every award!
Amy is so happy you’ve said this 😂😂
Absolutely one of my favorites… saw this in the theaters
I love Microwave Massacre! 🤷🏻♂️😋😂
Oh mate honestly - I tried but the production alone was killing me 😂 I usually give leaway to low budget silly horror but I couldn’t with that one. Maybe I’m being too harsh
@@primetime_mitch No. It's cool. I love bad movies. Not many people like the movies I like. 😆😂
Thanks for the review, Mitch! 🤠
Never a chore my friend!
Really enjoyed coming on to chat 🙏🙏
Class of 84 is awesome! Cheers! 🤘🏼🍻
A good review, and you covered nearly everything. I like your idea of how perhaps more clocks should've been present, to show Kindler's obsession even more. I'm an audio dramatist and I've adapted this film for audio performance -- got all the voices recorded and I'll be producing it soon -- that's how much I like the movie. I read that Welles didn't want Robinson in the role of Wilson, because he wanted to cast a woman -- specifically, Agnes Moorehead. But the studio wanted a man, and a big name, so Robinson was cast. Don't get me wrong, he's terrific as Wilson, but for my adaptation I went with Orson's wishes and cast a woman.
This is fantastic man - let me know when you’ve got it out there!
@@primetime_mitch I definitely will!
This movie is touted as having some of the tightest writing in cinema. Finding even a few seconds of pointless dialogue, or unnecessary scenes is difficult. ua-cam.com/video/IXO2Ui5e7Sk/v-deo.htmlsi=q4h6TYSoaSZrGctV This link is to a channel that gives a breakdown of the fx in this movie, as well as others.
Thanks man! Really enjoyed that
@@primetime_mitchYou mentioned wanting a video game based on just the first movie. I doubt that will ever happen, but I highly recommend watching the 2nd and 3rd if you want to get really hyped about that unlikely fantasy.
@@michaelparham1328 would be fun haha jumping from roof to roof 😂
@@primetime_mitch I hadn't considered the idea, but now that I have, my mind is racing with ideas. I don't think it has nearly the level of popularity it would need to be its own game, but it could be some awesome side quest DLC in Monster Hunter Rise. I imagine you'd wander into a village of 11 people, which triggers an event where the only road in and out gets blocked. And, as a sneaky present to fans of the tremors movie, writers could set a series of objectives that mirror the scenes in the movie. So if you've seen the movie, you'll know what's coming next, and how to deal with it.
This film has been a favorite of mine for many years. In fact I like it so much a have it on dvd. Glad you enjoyed it. In your reviews, you might want to talk more about camera work, lighting, choices the director and his cinematographer make on angles, lighting, closeups, etc. Or perhaps not. I was a theater/film student and then worked in the Industry for many years. And, of course, I've taught film classes. So these things are very interesting to me. If this is not in your background but you'd like to know more, you can't do better than Orson Wells and his Citizen Kane cinematographer Gregg Toland. Also cinematographer James Wong Howe's work. Without a good cinematographer, one doesn't have a good film. However, each and every job/aspect of a film is important - lighting, makeup, costuming, sets, producers, acting styles. Let me recommend a couple of films to you. One is "The Stuntman" - hard to get a copy as it was tied up in legal battles for years but very worth it. Another is Metropolis - the silent German classic. Another is a great Film Noir - He Walked By Night. As you can see, I'm into Black and White films a lot. They often get ignored by those who are only use to color, but B/W has abilities to take the plot along that color can't match and I believe that all lovers/students of film need to appreciate it as do those who work in the Industry. Good luck, Mitch. Hope you do well.
Thanks so much - I’ll definitely look at those! You’re definitely right about being a student of it - I’d have had so much more to say about the visuals - it’s why I always mention average movie lover - but I try to bring movies like this to the front as people seem to forget stuff before now and shouldn’t ♥️ thank you for your view and comment
I love the Tremors franchise. The last few definitely aren't as good as the first 4 but they're still fun. 2 is great. 3 is good. 4 is a good prequel in the old west. 5&6 are ok but 7 is just so so. CGI should be limited and mixed with practical like in Jurassic Park and the LOTR trilogy. Especially when it comes to explosions. There's nothing better than a practical explosion.
Fun movie to talk about. You two have a good rapport and both clearly enjoy this classic flick.
Great review guys, thanks alot. Really enjoyed it.
Thanks for having me on! It was an absolute blast discussing this with you!
On par with Birdemic 😂
That’s one for the list!
This film changed my perception on time loops, brilliantly done
Fun discussion and breakdown of an underappreciated film. Great job, fellas.
Melissa George! 🤩 I dig Triangle! Cheers! 🤘🏼🍻
Really?Efron should have played Kerry! The guy they got could have play Chris!!He was half the size of the real Kerry! It took me right out of the movie!!Mike was a non factor in it!He had the most tragic story and the cut out most of it!Kerry was the superstar!
I can appreciate that view - he was definitely the size of Kerry as I mentioned. Kerry was my childhood favourite growing up 🤘🏻
Great review! I’m a big fan of the OG too. I enjoyed it for the most part. Yes it felt a bit more modern than a prequel to the original, but fun. New sub here. Cheers✌️
Thank you so much! My first video is an Elm St watchalong so it’s nice to get support off the back of that!
I was there when it first came out. The decade of nightmares was worth it.
Great review. Good analysis. I don't know how you Horror junkies do it. I couldn't watch any of those films until I was in my 30s. Stuff scares the living daylights out of me. Thanks for the cool video.
Thanks for taking the time Mitch it was a pleasure! I love this movie so much and had a blast talking horror
This movie set the bar for other syfy/horror. It rocks.
