Travel Crazy Katie

Hi I'm Katie! I've been travel obsessed since childhood. Join me on my adventures around California and beyond!
Here's the deal, my long term goal is to travel. Not just travel, but to show people what they need to know so that they can travel too. I love to research and plan, and I can help you prepare for what to expect when traveling. I know it's sometimes scary to get out of your comfort zone (trust me, I know) but it is so rewarding once you take the leap.
Right now, I am unable to do this full time. For now, I am going to start with Southern California and expand as soon as I am able to.
In the meantime, I plan to focus on travel but also occasionally make videos about food, cooking, and DIY (my other favorite activities). Gotta hone those video making skills, ya know?
Subscribe and join me on my next adventure!

Exploring Piran | Slovenia Travel Vlog Part Three
Welcome to my third Slovenia travel vlog! Today's adventure takes us out of Ljubljana to the picturesque town of Piran on the Adriatic Sea.
Slovenia is a beautiful and scenic country with so much to see. Not to mention it is also safe, clean, and friendly. In my opinion, it's also a great choice for solo travelers! I hope that after you watch my video series I can convince you to add Slovenia to your travel bucket list.

Can You Bake Bread in An Instant Pot? | A Pinterest Experiment
The stairs were created over 85 years ago to make the neighborhood be more walk-able... and because almost nobody had CARS.
This hasn't gone to shit like the rest of LA yet?
Ugh these are where all the old goat Hollywood rich live ugh
Adorable thank you. Im gonna have to do this
Late to the party! Fun video but enjoyed your narration even more! Too many vloggers try too hard to be funny or like they are auditioning for TV/Movie parts. I will continue to watch your travel vids because I like your style of vloging.
Are there houses where the only access is a staircase?
This was so unbelievably interesting.
Look at all those Wealthy Folks using those Stairs. Amazing
This is funny, I work on the hills and I have been up and down the stairs for the last 20 years, I never knew people would be interested. I wonder if you guys know about the other one around the Hollywood Bowl
Loved this video. Thank you.
Pretty cool. I like finding old stairways when out on the bike.
I’ve seen a lot of those places on old TV shoes and possible period movies…hence the castles…just my guess. Thanks for the tour. 😊
Very cool
I would love to walk there a bit
Great coverage! Thanks!
They are not, "SECRET STAIRS", they are LITTLE-KNOWN STAIRS. This country seems less-educated by the day.
Some very cool hidden staircases in Berkeley too
They're probably called drives because they're meant for locally accessing destinations and not for moving distances (roads) and it's more scenic sounding that streets. A lot of these drives, while they aren't dead ends, they loop back on each other and don't really take you anywhere. They're like fancy parking lots
Interesting that they add staircases to the neighborhood to make it more walkable while ignoring everything else that makes that area terrible for walking. Very LA
I think we all first fell in love with L.A.'s stairs watching Laurel & Hardy pushing a piano up a set in the Silver Lake area in their short film, "The Music Box" from 1932. ua-cam.com/video/Xmd-CVZb2jQ/v-deo.html
I like your channel
I'm pretty sure that Lake Hollywood is where they filmed the title scenes for the Andy Griffith show with Andy and Opie going fishing.
Weeelllll....It would be nice if you could enjoy these Old Gems that's if the majority of them weren't graffiti ridden and covered with trash, Urine and feces......🤔🤢
Knows about "Hidden Stairs" but not about a Giant Lake bwahahahah
So THIS is what Kat Timpf does on her day off.
I noticed you often point out animal statues, lions and decorative figurines. I will share with you something I only found out this year while visiting European castles (you might already know): The difference between a Gargoyle and a Grotesque: A gargoyle is a waterspout that carries rainwater away from the walls of a building, protecting it from damage (from the old French “Gargole” which means THROAT). Meanwhile, a Grotesque is a decorative carving that has no functional architectural purpose. Happy travels!

Your vids kept coming up in my feed tonight. Really glad they did. Love the content. You have whatever that ‘it’ factor is to be a captivating UA-camr. Liked and subscribed. Checked out your Instagram too. Looking forward to the next one. I would bet this channel eventually grows into some very big numbers. Strong hunch.
love the creativity in architecture for the residences...beautiful!
I ride my bicycle up and down the streets all the time. Add no idea about the secret stairs. Great video I appreciate it. No I have a new place to explore in the Hollywood Hills.
Home owners in those types of neighborhoods , as well as places in Malibu are known to purposely close off public access because I’m sure they don’t like seeing strangers always passing by due to lack of privacy and noise.
The castle house might have been Moby's. UA-cam might have had a tour.
Fascinating! I was 6 when we lived on the 2900 block of Beechwood Dr. So these videos are amazing! Thank you!
What about the 3 Stooges stairs, the most iconic in LA???
I lived in that area for almost a year, took those stairs home drunk many times lol
Super Fun! Thanks!
My old Neibourhood. no SUN... on so many LA clips now. You people never even mention what's happening in the skies. Incredible. But yes, a couple staircases even I didn't know or explore and I'm English..trust me Ex pats EXPLORE . If you want to know some local secrets, ask a stranger..
Nice tour. If you haven’t already, check out the movie historic “Music Box Steps”, and the “Three Stooges Stairs”.
Try the asensores of Valparaiso Chile. Also intriguing.
10:18 - Is that a Frank Lloyd Wright house?
I hope they never have a mud slide or a earthquake, you know how God gets upset with the elite 🇺🇸🤨
Never knew of these crazy but interesting stairs after 40 years of L.A. living. Thank you for the adventure.
I lived in Malibu/L.A. in the 80's. I never heard of these staircases !! Thanks for sharing Amazing video !!!!
Looks private but it’s not at all.
I don't know how this popped up but I'm glad to see this and you're very beautiful to go along with your video I will never make it to this location in Hollywood but thank you this is very interesting.
This is such a cool walk/video. Have you considered uploading a longer edit, with just raw footage of your walk, without music. That would be also cool. Lots of walking channels do similar videos :)
I'd put a big planter and plant on skateboard wheels in front of the stairs, so only those that know roll it over and go through.
You should come up north, by the Mississippi there's old hidden in the weeds staircases that go down to a tunnel that goes under the train tracks to river houses along the shore.
This was fun to follow along on the trip! I love the architecture and all the built-in stairs. Thanks for making this!
Nice
