I was her anchor, her safety net for several months. All of a sudden she told me it was over, I got devastated…shocked! I decided to go completely silent; blocked her from every social media there is, no texting, no contact at all. Today, 12 days later, she reached out to me. I haven’t answered her…Not sure i want to! Thanks for this wisdom. This made me realized that by still trying to soothe them and make them feel better (although my intent was to help them and support them) I unknowingly enabled them which has prevented them from growing and learning from their mistakes. This was a wakeup call for sure. It might take some time for me to be able to let them go fully, but you made me realize and acknowledge how crucial letting them go is for my own growth and theirz.

In my opinion, The "No Contact" stage is incredibly effective because it creates space, allowing the other person to reflect on the relationship. It disrupts their routine, making them realize your absence. They started missing the emotional connection you provided. This distance cultivates longing, often reigniting their interest and desire for reconciliation.

Am progressing forward in my quiet withdrawal from family members. It's hard but I realize my silence is what I need to do for self preservation.

Iam Julie I need this to help me with the choice my adult child has made to not communicate with me n cut me out only to see me when she is acting in a show she invites me but that's it she went almost a yr not seeing me or talking n now another year. There was nothing in particular like a conflict or anything that happened I was not there 20 yrs ago but I thought that was forgiven. It hurts so much my only child 33 yrs old. I was diagnosed with cancer 3 yrs ago n now in remission. I am happy for that.n if she loves me time will tell. This silence is worth a try. Love to all n anyone that read this n prays for all hurting n lost . Pls know you r not alone. Xxoo ❤❤❤
