Being bipolar is not a death sentence: I have bipolar disorder tipe 2 with comorbid ADHD. I have been through tough times in life, but I didn't accept being bipolar and didn't follow treatments, so I was always in crises. After being hospitalized for 12 days and undergoing treatment and convulsive therapy, I got better and accepted the diagnosis. Since then, I haven't had strong crises anymore. My life has changed: I went to university, studied Law, became a lawyer, did postgraduate studies, and work a lot. I live a normal life, but I avoid coffee, energy drinks, and alcohol. I exercise six times a week and sleep at least six hours a day. Additionally, I regularly see mental health professionals: I go to a psychologist twice a month and to a psychiatrist once a month. I take slow-release lithium carbonate as prescribed. We continue the fight with great determination. Disorder Type 2. My family does not know, even when I was hospitalised a few years ago. They did not find out because my two partners at my law firm organised everything with the psychologist and psychiatrist. Only my partners know about my bipolar disorder. My current girlfriend does not know that I have bipolar disorder. I am working with my psychologist to decide whether or not to tell my girlfriend. I believe the worst part of life for someone with bipolar disorder is the stigma and prejudice. Everyone thinks a person with bipolar disorder is always aggressive. I have never been aggressive with anyone, even during moments of crisis. I have never driven a car irresponsibly. I live a normal life, work a lot, and study constantly because my profession requires me to stay updated. However, I do take my medication. Never stop fighting for a better day, and believe in yourself. Hugs from Brazil.

2:00 The psychiatrists are pill pushers. I had the same experience. She told me on release from the psyche ward that if I didn't take her toxic pills, that I'd be back in the hospital again. What kind of healing is that? Two years later, I've pulled everything back together and I'm stronger than ever. I don't deny the 'bipolar' coronation, I've identified what the world calls 'bipolar' and I monitor how 'extreme' I'm getting. If too high, I reel it in. If too low, I push past it. Bipolar is a gift, don't ever let them make you into a victim. If you can learn to manage your gift with things like meditation, religion, spirituality, you have beat the odds ... enjoy your life and all that ENERGY!

I'm angry they said that to you and your boyfriend/spouse in the hospital!!! This illness exists on a spectrum. Sure, some people fit that mold, but not ALL. I was first affected in my early 20s and still managed to put myself through a full-time college diploma while also being employed and doing practicum placements. Then I held my last 2 jobs for 10 years each. The first was a mix of full and part time (through college) while the second was a casual position so I could work as much or as little as I wanted provided I met the minimum shift requirements each month. I currently raise 2 kids and keep a home with their father. I'm medicated and stable for several years now. The hospital staff spoke out of sheer ignorance and societal stigma.

I have Bipolar 1. I have had over 10 psych ward stays. I can’t hold a full time job and working part time is stressful but I’m trying. Even if I can maintain the part time job it’s not enough to pay my budget. Eventually I know where things will end up for me because of this illness. The streets will be home as I am very ill. No insurance but I am spending cash payment on psych medication and doctor.

Sorry, but the same useless advice. See a therapist, talk to someone. LOL. First of all there aren't enough therapists in the world to even cover the amount of therapy needed just in one U.S. city let alone a state or country. Even if you are lucky enough to find a therapist then it moves to the next challenge. Does the therapist have any openings in their practice ? Then the next challenge. Does this therapist accept my health insurance ? And if that hurdle is overcome for people like me it is near impossible to travel to a therapist so they would have to allow for remote therapy. I was trying for over 4 years. Now I just gave up.

You don't have to lose your life, regardless of your family's understanding of what you are going through. Could you consider talking to people outside of your family? Just because your family doesn't help doesn't mean they don't care. Maybe they don't know how to help. You should seek the help you need beyond your family....do it for yourself. You are valuable and you matter. Praying you choose to live.

How weak your understanding of complex grief is! By failing to grasp the fundamentals - and I’ll enlighten you here (but you’ll probably still remain ignorant), losing a child to suicide is profoundly traumatising. The psychological impact on your mental and physical health can be so devastating that without therapy or counselling your quality of life is seriously compromised. I have my faith but I would never disrespect anyone as to shove it down their throat. Not only are you ignorant but you are offensive - you manage to trivialise my son’s death and insult people whose God is different to yours. Jesus is not a grief counsellor or therapist.

@@emmacoombes1542 , I responded to this man’s own question in the video, ‘How do find meaning and joy in this world when I am dealing with the loss of family members’? (3:05) What I wrote was truth. The Word of God calls Jesus, Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6). And also states that we’ll find Him when we search for Him with all of our hearts. (Jeremiah 29:13) Jesus said… Come to me, all you that labor and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 And… Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 I do know Jesus. I have experienced and known the comfort and peace that only He can bring to the soul through mourning, and every trial and sorrow life may bring. And HE is the ONLY hope this world has. Jesus IS the only answer 💟 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4

It seems to me you have nothing but blind faith, offer nothing but a sound bite, and need to educate yourself on the psychology of complex grief. Ignorance is no excuse. Get educated - because ignorance is very different to an understanding of truth faith. If you have the mental stamina - chat to a Jesuit priest - but I think it’s concepts you’ll struggle with. I’m happy you are comforted by your faith, but the church needs properly qualified people here - and that isn’t you.

I feel like for the price they are charging, there should at least be some oversight by their employees to verify nutrition info. Perhaps they have improved since then so I might give it another try sometime in the future as this could be valuable information to have if the information was actually reliable.
