Finally replacing the GX470
Always wanted one of these bad boys and with the prices people are posting the GX or 4runners down here in FL, I figured I'd give this one a try.
Happy to be the second owner on the gen 1 raptor finally.
But these big ole wheels are going to go soon hopefully.

Hurricane DESTROYS the GX470

Sad day, but after all the work and looking forward to more upgrades Hurricane Helene took a tree down and trashed the lexus and a corner of my roof. Safe to say it's totaled but I figured we'll go along and see how that whole process works and the options they give me since this is a first for myself. #4runner #automobile #carcleaning #4runneroffroad #mechanic #gx470offroad #carmaintenance #gx...

meguiars wheel cleaner for chrome wheels? bust or not?

bought a meguiars chrome wheel cleaner to test out the difference of the usual one I buy and this chrome specific one. But very happy I did and worth the price, so far recommend even on these 19 year old crusty wheels #4runner #automobile #carparts #4runneroffroad #mechanic #gx470offroad #gxoffroad #gx470 #gxor #meguiars

Took some time to get the timing belt replaced so it took a while to finish the video. But finally got to replace the reservoir which was stained badly but did work, and the hoses which were the main issue since they were so old and brittle they ended up having a few cracks in some spots which lead to leaks. #diy #automobile #4runner #4runneroffroad #asmr #gx #gx460 #gx470 #gxor #maintenance #o...

LMT BCG and other parts for my AR build

Since I bought a stripped upper, you still need a few parts to complete the upper. So I went with a LMT bcg, BCM charging handle and a good ole reliable A2 flash hider.
Daniel Defense stripped upper ( RIS 2 quad rail )
Переглядів 2226 місяців тому
This is how I received my Daniel Defense stripped upper. It comes with the handrail, barrel and iron sights, mine has the FSP so that's also included. Need to buy a BCG, Charging handle and a muzzle device but so far it looks sensational and cannot wait to take it outside. #diy #danieldefense #military #airsoft #upperdeck #sport #guns

This is how I received my blem, lower from PSA, it has the Giessele SSA trigger, a nice stippled grip that has a fair amount of rough texture to it and seems pretty dam good for a " blemished product". Update to gx470 faded paint
Переглядів 367 місяців тому
A little buffing on the gx to see how this combo works. Using Chemical guys V32 but am thinking of switching to a different brand or at least trying it with microfiber pads instead of their heavy duty yellow foam one. Any recommendations would be great.

Wowwww 😍
So sorry about this! Tons of great GX options up here in GA if you ever want to get another.
I’m always keeping an eye out so appreciate that.
Honestly, I think it looks pretty great. I used the same company for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Carpet swap and was pretty pleased with the results- especially the smell. I am about to do this swap on a GX470, would you recommend the standard or upgraded cut pile?
Thanks for the compliment, and I would say the upgraded cut pile. It’s nothing excessive but enough extra material to where I thought it was worth it
And good luck with the holes for the 2nd row, those were a huge pain in the butt for me so just watch out.
Man I’m so sorry. You worked so hard on this thing. Prayers bro keep your head up.
Thank you for the kind words, luckily everything else is fine but I’m just in the hunt for another gx or v8 4Runner
@@Torres_Antonioonce you’ve the driven the v8 it’s hard to go back. My dream vehicle would be an FJ cruiser with the 4.7 and manual gearbox. The 4.0 isn’t bad by any means but the V8 is just magical.
Thatsll be dope, I’ve always wished the Tacoma came with v8 since everyone says it’s underpowered but that would be a crazy swap. I’ve looked at ford raptors gen 1 since its a v8 but holy smokes tho
Those never lose value so they’re still over 20k
If worried about the cost may want to try out another platform. These things will drain your wallet lol. My last 556 build was north of 5K when done. My LMT 20” 6.5 CM is nearly double. Either way good starting points. Look into Criterion Core barrels if you want it as a dual role, pertaining to accuracy. My Core barrel builds get .5-1.2 all day, even with me as a mediocre shooter at best lol
Ahhh thanks for the tips. This mostly started because I missed the quad rail from the military. ( had a nostalgia hit) but couldn’t just get an upper with no lower. So just pieced it out. For now since I don’t train as much since work, hurricane and other things that come up. I figured I’ll do more affordable until I’ve caught up big time with my training and splurged it then.
Nice bro
@@stevouppers4822 appreciate it man
no mames :( me la regalas ??
Well that’s not the and, that’s just a new chapter. Be safe😊
Ohh noo!!! My heart hurts for you man. That’s so sad to see. I just hope you and your family are safe.
save ur old fan clutch for back up, you only need to replace the thermal fluid inside the fan clutch, and those fluid come as a pouch. remove the cover of the clutch and clean it off the old fluid, then fill it up with the new fluid and your old clutch is good as new. the new one u have may not be as good as the old one. they don't make part which last that long as they once used to any more.
Yeah, thankfully since it and other parts I’m replacing still working I have them in “spare parts” box just in case anything new fails .
I think I bit the bullet with this one 🤭
You took a SHOT with this type of content 🤭
Florida man gone wild 🫡
When are you going to post the completed product
Tomorrow, had to go out and make sure everything works and I didn’t mess anything up, but it’s flawless.
Literally states recording and battery took a crap so Saturday now lol
Thanks for the video but where did you get your trim? I just did mine. Parts from Amazon and they sucked. I paid over 130 thinking they would be a perfect fit and no dice!!!
I actually got mine from eBay www.ebay.com/itm/387011902874?_nkw=For+Toyota+Prado+GX470+OEM+Quarter+%26+Door+Belt+Moulding+Black+SET+2003-2009&itmmeta=01J7F86GE8GJP1SD1WBRP2EGS4&hash=item5a1bb4fd9a:g:VREAAOSw5IJmRrwF&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABMHoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkVi0UgIOyAi0dMFCL1lSNAlYZ0lw8qNdaohYxtjRHByZAYxeK3C%2BkRCUOS75Izj7H6%2Bvvp95GXwSc1tXI37Q42%2FP%2FL92SpZPEwhoR7LkpQdIWxKwLxBu2kvcKh6e0BDiZJG3NBbWmjTc7sBxtWqSBJS%2FljHrWtqA1wXtnhkuAgU4VFfxXrQJcRsyuVTmZolCrVedDnvWtgDVrwSS3rV9yj6CxvjNkeoE%2FHmnl5USmIdKS2L7uWoi%2BC8xEiTPwdaJIl7zeVW8AbZAuARREHTDaaWcTgM%2BGwSZAqVFyUrOc32pfMuL3kqnR6KWB%2FvSTUzg9NSo9SW44WswCgiIS5L0K9gPuHZGbxV658T%2BuAoYfg9hPYTqx7G8FfiRmfFWuf4D0%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMmIea6Ltk I’ve seen the process fluctuate super high and super low So I bought them at a mid point of 120 bit see some are higher now. We have like 4 major heavy rains and a tropical storm in FL and so far no leaks or any issues thankfully.
@@Torres_Antonio Thanks man. I also live in FL and I noticed water leaking in the GX. Hopefully I can get it changed out asap. Thanks again for the video and keep us updated.
@@gps996 Yeah like I said, thank, fully nothings came in yet. But I do want to check my sunroof drains and make a video on spots that usually leak and clean all mine out.
@@gps996 Literally took everything inside out and don't want to do that again for mold or anything cause by the elements.
Really want to get a GoPro since it seems a little easier to work and record at the same time.
Also it was a kit with the belt, tensioner and pulley of that helps anyone, or gives any insight.
How they holding up so far?
So far no issues, and we’ve had a lot of rain and the tropical storm in my area and no water has made its way in. So I’m happy with the purchase.

The exact one I got I can’t see but that one is the same thing Mine just had the part number of 84247-58010 on the box but they all fit.
Was the carpet stapled down on those rails along the front door? Is that a small piece of carpet left over on the driver's side rail?
Had to look back to see what you meant, but yes, it’s stapled. But as you see how gross it was I ended up taking the plastic rails out and getting all of the left over out so it didn’t stink up the new carpet when I installed that. Luckily they just pop on and off the clips over the plastic water lines( or at least I believe there are water lines)
@@Torres_Antonio And once you get out all the bolts, is the carpet just held in by a bunch of clips? I'm planning on doing this same thing this weekend.
@@adamhlj yeah once you remove on the bolts from the seats and plastic trim, there’s a few spots that the carpet is hooked, like in the footwell area of the driver and passenger area. Then you would pull the plastic bracket that’s it’s stapled to and in a perfect world it would come off with and not rip. But just getting everything out is the part I went back and fourth catching small areas that were held on. I ended up replacing my carpet but to be honest if you have a pressure washer and enough sun or a vacuum to get the water out it’s worth doing that. All the carpet replacements have horrible figments so it’s a shame and not worth it in my opinion.
If anyone else tries this from this video, my advice would be Step one: Remove your floor mats first. Second: having 2 floor mats is a bad idea. But this is great info. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for sharing! I bought the car as is and it had to two mats. Unfortunately after cleaning I’m better off getting new ones regardless. But thanks for pointing that out. I just had tunnel vision taking them out in the FL heat 😂
@@Torres_Antoniodid you swap out whole interior to black?
@@rayflores8567 nope, I just did the carpet. I’m debating on getting actual black leather and reupholstering the seats Or just try to look out for the dark grey interior on eBay. But both are super expensive once it’s all said and done.
Did the new buttons work? Mine didn’t come with the phone buttons. I want to buy new buttons for my android headunit but unsure if they will be plug n play
I have not turned the car on in a while, but I will this weekend and get back to you. When I did the same thing on my 4Runner it worked perfect but every car is different
Just out the car back together and drove it around and yes all the buttons work perfectly fine thankfully
Pin and weld that a2 then run a surefire can ftw
Ahhh thanks, I did after I uploaded the video noticed there wasn’t a small hole for pin and welding on the A2, do the gunsmiths make their own or usually not? (I’m calling around spots near me)
@@Torres_Antonio yup they should be able to do it
Much obliged 🫡
Thanks for saying the bolt size
Thank you for watching. I’ll try to be a little more clear and organized in the future.
How much bro
It’s in the website for $349.99 I was going to get an aero lower and upgrade the trigger but after shipping it came out more then this.
I will say there’s A LOT of sales going on so realistically you can get a lot for way cheaper and I ordered mine a week ago like a fool.
I ordered the vinyl version and its a terrible mold. What did you do with the large wooven backing that comes with it?
luckily or unlucky for me the backing was separate, but there was a lot of misaligned things. Like for my other car it came out great but I kinda wish they took it off the sire since it was SO BAD.
How'd it go
Carpet quality was good but some holes did not line up and had some other fitment gripes. I'll have an update over this weekend to show it all so far.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
My boy 🥰
