This was one of the most beautiful mornings for flying around the Yarra Valley we’ve had, so I thought I’d put it up and share some of the most stunning views of the ranges we’ve seen so far. We departed NNE past Yarra Glen racetrack and tracked up the Melba highway to between Kinglake and Toolangi, then turned roughly SE climbing 6500’ to track past Maroondah Dam, and Healesville, before turning back to Lilydale airfield. Most of the footage is from around 4500’ to 6500’ AGL, to keep away from A/C on training flights. I’ve put up a few videos of longer cross country flights but it is still amazing how much fun you can have just flying around the training area when you don’t have time for a longer flight. The landing is actually from a different flight in which we were coming back from a visit to Tyabb during which we helped the Peninsula Aero Club guys put up their new flagpole, and also during which I demonstrated one of my worst Jabiru landings, floating down RWY17 and finally touching down abeam the clubhouse.
