Really they are peaceful animals. They just want to be left alone, or they want food. They won’t hurt you, unless you touch their quills…then it is the quills you have to pull out.

I don't know what I thought porcupines eat during non-winter months, but I didn't think they eat weeds. I know in winter months they eat tree bark... unless they're fortunate enough to have a human friend who feeds them sweet potatoes, peanuts, and apples.
Forgot to use my headphones, so this just scared the snot out of my roommate. 😂

No, I do not. Pennsylvania Game Commission took my male away, but didn’t see the female, so I let her go in the woods. They ruled in 2016 that porcupines are “fur bearing game animals”. ( Really?? )She came to visit me the next spring. I should have just let them come and go like you do. Thanks for commenting! I love your channel. I love porcupines.

I'm so curious!!! My local friend porcupine makes this noise all the time, what does it mean?? ☺️ He also approaches me which makes me run back inside! Is he threatened or happy?
The porcupine will not hurt you. It might be a female if it makes this kind of noise, but maybe not. The noises they make are just what they do! If the porcupine felt threatened, it would not be talking to you, it would turn its back and show his/ her quills, and probably be quiet. If your friend porcupine approaches you, he or she is looking for food or something. They don’t see that well. They are harmless vegetarians.

Yes she was very broody. She would practically starve herself on an empty nest, so we finally gave her two duck eggs to sit on, and one hatched out successfully. She was a good mama to the little ducklings.
