Wasd worries me the most about poe2. I’ve always been a 1% arpg player and never used wasd. If I was forced to use wasd or suffer from poor movement that would be a big setback until I got comfortable with it. In my mind I’m also wondering if I would still even enjoy arpgs if I was forced to use wasd or be a worse player because I didn’t. Having a bunch of hot keys on my mouse sounds uncomfortable, having to constantly juggle skills around wasd feels uncomfortable. I’m talking in 16-24 hour gaming sessions, it just doesn’t “sound” as convenient. Wait and see I guess…

You always move with mouse. Keyboard movement is slow and clumsy.

Im kinda sad that they added wasd movement because they are going to have to balance around that advantage. So mouse users will be punished severely

I think people will just find that modern mice with multiple thumb buttons will become somewhat mandatory. I've been using one for years with poe and it actually took alot of stress from my hands by shifting alot of my binds to the mouse.

Idk I really want this game to be good but the more I learn about it the less hyped I get maybe is just the campaign that is slow and maps you will be able to zoom zoom.

The wasd problem is a non problem to someone who played WoW. Press both the W and 2 at the same time, some keyboards its just easier to slide your W finger up towards 2

You'll probably just use dodge-roll to mediate the movement + flask situations. Like jumping in wow.

W button fix; use ring finger which is on a button. This you learn in wow and tarkov really fast

I liked your thoughts. Some skills have movement to them so you can put these skills on keys that are difficult to press while still moving. The monk has that frozen pillar where he flips backwards. You can control where you place it with the mouse which controls the direction you flip. This gives you a lot of time to get your fingers back on WASD.

Correction. WASD movement was created because the Mercenary was meant to play differently to the ranger, but it felt horrible with mouse movement only. They then implemented WASD to solve that problem. They didn't make a class to test WASD.

I need someone to compare POE's WASD with V Rising, because V Rising is a good benchmark for this gameplay, it's fluid and plays super well with challenging and fun bosses. How similar are they?

I use the letter A to straight left, the letter s to strafe right, the letter w to move forward, the letter e to move backwards. I've been doing that since Counter-Strike

every problem that people have with wasd can be fixed by simply plugging in a controller. every problem that people have playing arpg's with controller can simply be fixed by putting that fcking elitist ego aside lol just pick up the damn controller and enjoy every skill and flask at the tip of your fingers without letting go of movement. :DISCLAIMER: -- if letting go of movement to use flask is a none issue for you then thats perfect you have zero problem with poe2 lol

mmo mouse. problem fixed. ive played mmos for 20 yrs, used the naga, the schimatar or whatever its called, over the years, now im using a utechsmart venus mmo mouse from amazon, 32 bucks. its amazing and imo the same if not better quality then the 100 dollar mice im used to

I'v used a razer naga for 10 years now so i have 1-12 on my thumb. Pro's are i have 48 key binds on my thumb and dont have to move off of wasd. Cons are i cant play without this mouse now. 10/10 would recommend

We never had problems with keys when we used the arrow keys for movement and put the mouse on the left side of the keyboard. You guys have fun with that. I'm going to use gamepad until the day comes when people realize how foolish they were to accept a trend that was made up by ONE GUY who won a Quake tournament once

i just hope they add a guaranteed rare item for every boss so it feels rewarding from early on. dying 10 times then finally killing the boss after a 4 minute fight, should feel rewarding instead of getting 3 blue items

The wow movement was a good suggestion

No offense but its not 1990 anymore when regular mice had only two buttons.... and its not like modern mice with a wide arrange of input options are super expensive either. In a WASD environment you actually never wanna use your left hands 3 central fingers but exclusively for directional inputs whilst in combat.

Great video it's actually a valid point about WASD i would like to believe you can hot key movement to MB4/5 even in WASD

Maybe this would be a time to buy something like Razer Tartarus V2 for this game to be able to use WASD and all the keys at the same time :)

You can simply press 2 with your ring finger lol

you can press 2 using the tip of your middle finger, without stopping to press W. Or pressing E, R or F using the tip of your index finger without stopping to press D, kinda like when you accidentally press an extra note on a piano, if you ever played one.

Actually I'm looking forward to playing with controller instead from what I've seen it looks quite ergonomic

What makes enemies vulnerable on this build to justify the use of exploit glif stone?

So long as they let us freely set up key modifiers like Shift or Control then it will be possible to bind a lot of skills even to a standard mouse, so having to stop moving to use a skill shouldn't be much of an issue. To make the game even more ergonomic I would like for them to add the option to enable "keyboard events" to make it possible to bind multiple skills to the same button so I could do something like using one skill when I hold the left click down and use a different skill if I double click.

If you bind some skills to shift+mouse button, that pretty much lets you always keep your fingers on wasd. At least that's how I'm playing some other games.

Your reason for the loot filter being on your Discord is because you "couldnt find a provider that hosts the data for longer than a week". GitHub exists. If you want to host the filter on your Discord to drive people to it then fair enough, I don't agree with that personally but that's your choice and you're free to make it but don't lie about not being able to find anywhere to paste the code when there is a website dedicated to just that.

this isnt a 1-100 when he has other accounts boosting him and all the other worlds gives him item boosts.

I've been running this with Harlequin, Tyrael, Doombringer and Ring Of The Starless Skies. It's a lot of fun but resources / essence is a bit of a challenge if I don't use Deathspeaker's Pendant.
