73 / Stopped Daily Socials : How it's Going!
In this episode I have packed in sooo much goodness!! I am celebrating 13 years in business this fall 2024.
In this episode I am diving into:
<#>
=Why I stopped teaching on socials daily (and how its going!) and how I honour my bodies’ needs as a creative and artist
+How the wellness space has changed big time in the last decade (and how bringing counter culture to the mainstream brought a dark cloud of consumerism to the wellness space)
=How unqualified practitioners can give spiritual work and holistic medicine a bad rap (quick fix)
+Why picking one thing to focus on in your wellness helps our body learn rhythm + stick with it!
=How "the body heals the body" is one of my biggest learnings during my time as a consultant + guide
I throw out an F bomb (my first one in 72 podcasts lol) right around the 11 minute mark. Please don’t listen on a speaker with children nearby. Please. I can’t be responsible for your 2 year old picking up a swear.
These episodes are bite-size tools and wisdom adapted from my LUCKY NUMBER THIRTEEN years of nutritional consulting: food and healing.

68 / Michif Spirituality + Wellness: What it Means to Me to Be Métis
Переглядів 9Місяць тому
Shared from a piece I wrote on what being Métis means to me. This piece was originally written by me in early 2020 after being told that I "wasn't supposed to be" openly Métis. Being told that we aren't allowed to be who we are and to continue to hide it is EXACTLY the wound my Métis ancestors tried to pass down. But I ended that generational wound. I healed it. Stop focusing on politics, blood...

Where did you study nutrition ? All the nutrients you need are in animal products.

I'm sure you're very deficient yourself. Why? Because the human body needs bioavailable nutrition as the foundation of their diets. Too far off that spectrum and you will end up experiencing such severe health issues, especially as you get older, you'll literally try anything, at which point once you do inevidibly try carnivore you'll be like, "I regret not doing this sooner".

Oh and by the way, vegetables, grains, nuts legumes and seed made me severely anemic, so... yeah. Try rebuking that one!

Except for the fact carnivore diets were eaten for 250 plus thousand years ago, with the exception of maybe a two week period where we'd eat tubers and fruits whenever the hunts proved unsuccessful or to gain fat for the winter months.

As someone who has an autoimmune disease the keto diet is the only diet that has ever brought down my inflammation and helped me move better. I cant stick with it though, but until you have an issue like that it’s really not cool to judge people for doing it

Warning women from harming themselves with extreme dieting isn't judging them. This podcast is about following keto for a quick weight loss diet, not changing your diet to lower inflammation as a therapy for autoimmune, those are 2 completely different things. I do have autoimmune disease which I've put into remission using food & healing in the past 6 years :)

That was great ! I liked the part about the food journal where you are saying write down what you ate and how you felt. That might help for sure ! Thank you ❤
