I'm usually very monotone so I'm quite happy with English as is 😬
do /ʙ̼˞̤̥̬̺̺̊͡θ̖̥̌̏̄ʃ˞̍/
Wrong. The sounds are preserved correctly and accurately. The title is just famous for having been used in poertry. It was never meant to be an accurate description of the language. And it is fairly recent too. Sounds in a lanvuage don't just change and get forgotten like that.
We do have a similar thing in English with heteronyms - words with the same spelling but different meanings and pronunciations. For example, abstract and abstract. Also address and address.
What do you call the trend of applying a universal standard but only to one particular group
The first thing I noticed was the small Britain flag on India and Canada
👉🏻👌🏻 should’ve been picked
The same applies to Spanish. For example “to google” (to make a google search) in Spanish is “Googlear” and it is conjugated in all possible tenses as a regular verb in Spanish. Yo googleé (I googled) Tú googleaste (you googled) Etc.
Why no response about ض ?

English isn't strictly tonal in the same way, but the way punctuation is used sort of echoes tonal language. I've kinda gained the habit of using a question mark to indicate a rising tone through text, even if my wording isn't necessarily a question - usually to indicate uncertainty. Is that another valid way for a language to become tonal, or is that a separate thing? (Not a linguist, by the way, I just have a passing interest in the subject.)
Don’t date a globe; they think everything revolves around them 🙄
Personally, its more of a thing to drop the t when speaking quickly. Otherwise I still pronounce it. I'd also drop the t if im imitating a southern accent because that just seems like a thing they do down south
Americans have to much ptsd from 9/11 so anyone Arabic is now a terrorist
Never heard Barrak lol
FACT 1: Turkish is not from Turkey but rather from Turkmenistan. Turkish is the colonial language of the Turks who colonised Anatolia (the peninsula that is occupied by Turkey). Most modern Turks are not ethnically Turkish but colonialism was very successful and they identify as such. FACT 2: The European colonial movement began because it was looking for a seaborne western path to replace the silk route that was blocked by the Turkic Ottomans, who not only blocked the route but enslaved millions of Europeans they raided and pilfered. So basically the Turkic colonisation of Anatolia ("Turkey") lead to the European colonialisation of the world.

In Austria, they're generally called "Schwedenbomben" ("Swedish bombs") as a catchall term because of the most popular brand, and that's because the guy who made them (as in, that brand) named them for a Swedish friend who helped him develop them, and that's cute :D
