Sony Trinitron fv310 retro gaming corner (work in progress)
I took a bit of time to put together a custom shelf and wire up 11 retro gaming consoles (plus a MiSTer) to this CRT and I’m very proud of how well it turned out.
Still to do is a handful of RGB mods for some of the systems, plus awaiting the arrival of a second gCompSw so everything can be routed through YPbPr inputs into both the CRT and the LG OLED (via the Retrotink 5x). I’ll probably post another video once all of that is complete.

Sega New Net City Project: Removing the chassis from a Toshiba PF monitor
Переглядів 1,7 тис.4 роки тому
I made this video for my own documentation, but perhaps someone else will find it useful. Here I remove the chassis from my New Net City's Toshiba PF D29C051 monitor so that I can clean it. I walk through all of the cables that need to be disconnected prior to removing the chassis from the monitor as well as the cables that need to be disconnected in order to remove the monitor from the frame.

My Neo•Geo MVS cabinets finally arrived today, both a 2-slot and a 4-slot. Time to unwrap them, plug them in, and inspect their condition.

Are those Polk speakers?
Nice setup mate! Ive got a 29" phillips crt and a 21" phillips crt tv for my retro consoles have a working 90s vcr combo 14" crt put away also :) I play mainly ps2,3 and original xbox c:
Hey Mike Greiling, is the Neo Geo MVS both arcade cabinet and arcade board ?
Still waiting for those HD Retrovision Dreamcast cables…….
like having kids, you're never ready. it's never complete.
I'll always find it fascinating with what's inside these cabinets. A game system in an arcade machine. A real innovator snk was back then.
Good music
That's awesome, fantastic clean setup
That stand and the crt is so aestheticly pleasing so clean
For the Dreamcast you should just get a scart cable and a rgb2comp. Who knows if the Retrovision cable will ever be released. Or keep an eye out on RetroGaming UK they sometimes sell a Dreamcast component cable.
I actually did just that. Got one of the RGC Dreamcast YPbPr cables, which is kind of funny as they’re based in the UK and YPbPr component isn’t even a thing over there
@@mikegreiling oh dam I didn’t realise this was 2 years ago. It just popped up on my feed. So great you got one. I see them sell on eBay for $400 (absolutely crazy) every now and then.
일본 제품이 안들어간 북미형 neogeo mvs. 디자인도 별로.😂
Fantastic game room!
Great setup. If they’re all modded/going to be modded. Why do you still prefer a CRT Tv for retroing instead of a modern flatscreen?
I thought that was the 32 inch at first glance
Very nice TV and gaming corner
I'm aroused...🤣🤣🤣
Do you have any more crt for sale?
Oh man, this is a dream setup if I ever did see one! I have a 36" FV310 with matching stand, and one day I'm hoping to get a matching 36" SD version of the TV as well, with a nice high end flat panel in the middle like you have here. Very nice! Thanks for the inspiration :D
The FV310 is a SD set. Did you mean HD?
@@mikegreiling Yes, I meant I have the 36" HD set :)
This is killer. Bravo.
This has been a long time goal for me trying to get everything hooked up all onto one tv i just picked up a kv32fs100 and i am so excited
Sweet, this is amazing and very organized game room, thanks for sharing
hi !! I have that television! One question... what are your color settings? contrast, brightness, color, sharpness, color temperature, ClearEdge VM and DynaBlack? Please I would appreciate the help. Good video ! thank you

This room is a dream of my childhood
Awesome set up, one of the best I've seen. Did you ever get cables for the Dreamcast?
I did! HDRetrovision sadly never came through with their tables, but RetroGamingCables over in the UK put together a solid YPbPr cable using tech they licensed from Mike Chi. I’m very happy with it.
How bout a extron switcher
This is probably the best video game setup I’ve ever seen. You absolutely crushed it.
yes he did!
I was going to hook up a ASUS ROG 2 phone to it :)
Those keys in the coin door are for the marquee lock underneath the marquee.
We have a pretty similar setup except mine is messy and no wire management, yours looks perfect. I have 27" 310 w/ original stand, 14"/20" Sony PVM + 65" LG OLED with all the consoles except Gamecube and PC Engine. Building the setup is the most fun part! The 310's rule though, so many inputs and the picture and sound are stunning.
Great job keeping it organized.
Just grabbed a 36fv300
Very nice work. This looks great.
room tour
soon
Killer setup! Maybe get that Trinitron checked for convergence/geometry?
yeah, it could use a bit of love. I plan to do a full capacitor replacement and yoke adjustment when I can find the free time, but it’s pretty good most of the time.
@@mikegreiling Nice!
extremely organized setup btw
thanks!
how often do flat tvs distort nes images? I hear conflicting things. I hear some crts from mid 2000s are often digital and while great for consoles with component from ps2 era apparently artifacts can still be introduced to older 90s games similar to a modern lcd. I want a tv with s video for n64 and would like my nes hooked up to it.
That is a myth. There is nothing inherently different about flat CRTs apart from the fact that the glass is flat and they have a more complicated deflection circuit to compensate for the geometry distortion. They handle the inputs just the same as a curved CRT. That said, some late model CRT TVs used digital signal processing which *does* introduce combing artifacts in 240p images. It depends on the features of the TV, not the curve of the glass. If a TV supports 480p or 720p or 1080i, it is probably one you want to stay away from because it will attempt to upscale 240p and 480i to the tube’s native resolution and it will do a very bad job of it. That is where the confusion lies.
Tengo un Samsung TV retroproyector de 60" dolbysoundround prologic de 100hz ..el tope de gama.. te lo regalaria, el único problema es que esta en Europa.. es mas grande y estilizado que cualquiera de los que enseñas..
Thank you for this, I was able to figure out the pin out for the high-impedience (aka 15 KHz) video connector 1 - Red 2 - Green 3 - Blue 4 - Sync 5 - Ground 6 - NC 7 - Degauss 8 - Degauss
I was just coming back in here to comment that the stray two-wires harness at 4:00 were in fact for the degauss button in the control panel area. Interesting that this is necessary, since the remote board also has a degauss button, but perhaps some of the other monitors found on these Naomi style cabinets did not have degauss included on their remote boards.
Just picked up my 27FV310 in Minneapolis about 10 minutes from my place a month ago!
Very slick integration, well done my friend.
Hi, do you have any idea where this cable is connected to? i.ibb.co/Y8whgFF/image-1.png Thanks very
I'm not sure what you're asking. That cable appears to be connected in the image you've linked. I believe that's the high-impedance JAMMA video input.
Just found your channel. Game room tour in the near future? Thanks
What a beautiful setup, but how did you get that OLED tv to show those beautiful scan lines?
The RetroTink 5x. It’s pricy, but it’s at the heart of my setup and I find it invaluable
Still waiting for those HDRV Dreamcast component cables as well...if they even come out. For now I have the DC hooked up with S Video which still looks pretty good.
Good for the sony tv.
What inputs and set up are you using for the Snes? Also is it a 1 chip?
Nice setup! Thank you for sharing! How are you getting the Mister into your CRT? Or is it only on the Flat screen? Get a Mister to Jamma board for your NEOGEO cab!
I have the analog IO board on my MiSTer which outputs YPbPr to the CRT. It also connects to the OLED panel via HDMI. This is nice for several of the vertically oriented arcade games which would display sideways on the CRT or the computer cores with the oddball resolutions and refresh rates that my CRT doesn’t support.
Wow that’s a big retro undertaking.I’m like this on 1960’s cars love my old cars I also do like old PSP games and love old 8mm movies playing on projector love the sound
cleaning all that must be painful hahah
