Blood Salad | Full Album
Here is the first Blood Salad album. This one took 9 months to make. I tried not to repeat all the mistakes I made in the last album by making the songs shorter and more concise.
I think the mixing here, while not perfect, is way better than the previous album. It has quad tracked guitars running through an amp sim plugin and a cabinet. There is no live recording of guitar amps this time, only amp sims. The drums and bass are still programmed however I used better sounding plugins. There is eq on every instruments and several dashings of reverb.
I am really happy with the outcome this time. The songs are better and the mixing is better however it's not perfect. I think I still have lots of room for improvement. I guess we will see in my next album, which I am working on as of right now.

This is the first "album" I made before I started Blood Salad. It's very rushed as I spent roughly two weeks on it and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing whilst making it. Not bad thrash metal, invigorates, thoughtful riffs and structures, quite varied for this genre. Honestly - this sounds more interesting than most of the modern thrash metal bands

3:06 Reign in Blood Salad - Post Mortem. Just kidding, I mean that in the best way possible, plenty of original riffs along with ones inspired by Slayer and other bands, but that one was basically exactly like in Post Mortem down to just the riff then the same drum beat comes in. I knew it was a Slayer song but couldn't remember what one for sure until I looked it up. One time I thought I came up with a riff though and it turned out to be the one at 2:26 in Slayer - Fictional Reality so maybe the same happened here, which I definitely heard before but forgot.
Thanks! Slayer was one of my main influences for making this album and I'm pretty sure I actually thought about post mortem when I wrote that riff.

I like it but I'd like it a hell of a lot more if you had a real drum. The constant double bass is too much. Listen to Saints in Hell on Judas Priest Stained Class. That song is the epitome of badass heavy and the drums are perfect and the time signatures are very cool. But Les Binks was a great drummer who knew how when less is more. Dave Lombardo and Paul Bostaph are masters of playing fast and using big fills that don't sound big. Just my opinion. I really like it though.

This is great! I feel like I haven't heard epic riffs like this in ages. It's fresh but sounds familiar and I'll say it sounds like bunch of riffs from the late 80s-mid 90s but really clean. Great job!!!
I'm pretty sure 3:06 is almost exactly the same riff as Slayer - Post Mortem at 2:44, it even starts with just the riff and the same drum beat comes in. Great stuff though not knocking it, maybe they should be careful though, that's dangerously close to being exactly the same.

Drums sound like from a Casio-Drummachine, the guitar sound is really great. Maybe for drums you use a humanize function in the midi-editor. Make the first hit on a drumroll louder-themid hits normal- and the last hits more quite. Put ghost notes in the drums.

Thanks! Yes, it's currently an instrumental for the time being. Vocalists are hard to come by in my area and I'm not a great lyricist.
