12/2014 Purchased the 140 amp alternator 7068K and did >> NOT << have to lift it to clock it, I just removed the pulley & fan & then rotated to the new position, I now wish I had of tried it BEFORE removing the fan & pulley

2001 Mercury Sable LS. For about a month,..no start off/on. Now nothing? New battery(3 months old). Craftsman OBD scanner,....when I hit battery a picture of battery comes up,...underneath say's,."Abnormal"? Voltage with car off is about 11.9. I have all dash lights. Had new key made about 2 years ago. New key/old key,.same result???? No sound at all when turning ignition except fuel pump? Duratec engine. My starter is not below oil filter. Anyone ever seen this "Abnormal" on scanner dealing with Sable/Taurus???

This is going to be the easiest car repair I've ever made. Thanks for the lesson.

Thank You for the video. I just completed this job. A few notes A) I removed the wheel and inner panel. This make access to the tensioner and belt much easier. B) I disconnected the radiator hose in front of the alternator. This make access to the lower mounting bolt and moving the alternator around much easier. C) I did not touch the radiator support crossbeam, fans, or radiator D) I removed the oil dipstick and exhaust heatshield. This allows you to turn the alternator pulley facedown and pull it out toward the center the vehicle next to the radiator fill E) Be extremely careful. There's thin wires connected to the underside of the bracket at the back of the alternator. These wires go down to a sensor below the alternator. You really cant remove these wire until the alternator is pulled out slightly. It would be extremly easy to accident rip these wires out and many videos fail to metion them

I can see there is a tread pattern difference between the part which came out of my car and the one I ordered is exactly as shown in your video. Was this is the case with you as well. O ring is already present with old part and when am using new part which has different tread pattern, oil leakage is happening while car ignition is on

Man, been driving around with heater blowing cold at stop signs, red lights, anywhere the engine was at idle. After parking uphill on a small incline and burping the radiator (without a funnel), this sucker is blowing nice warm air while parked in the driveway! Thanks for your video.
