Ouzelden Clough
A Peak District explore walk!
I take on the challenges of Ouzelden Clough, with its tough terrain, multiple fallen trees and ravenous midges!
Several small waterfalls and then a steep climb up onto the surrounding moorland to locate plane wreckage.
The walk back offered some great views of some of the best known summits in the Peak District.

Beyond the Peak District! An adventure on Pule Hill in the South Pennines. I follow above the course of the Standedge Tunnels as they cut down deep below Pule Hill. This is a dramatic landscape of moorland, rock outcrops, quarries, ventilation shafts and ruins. It’s a fascinating area with lots of points of interest. One such being The Stanza Stone. Really enjoyable video, and particularly interesting for me as this is my local stomping ground. I have walked the paths you walked here many times, but I have never come off the path to look at the cloughs and waterfalls. I shall take a look at those next time, I have a drone so may be able to get some footage, I will let you know if I do. Subbed!

Good evening Kevin, hope your well? Great video as usual! Can't believe how much the water has gone down at the reservoirs. We had a wonderful time up there - some real highs and lows, we got to meet in person someone who has become very special to us 😊 and the low was we sent our drone off from the lonely trig point up on Kinder, waved it off unbeknown we would never see it again 😂 wasn't funny at the time! As for the wild camp I think it would only feel right to do it up on Kinder, not the woolpacks though! I would love to walk the perimeter and maybe camp up there two nights. Only ever camped once and that was when I was 13 and at school, I wouldn't wild camp where we live, but there is something about the Peak District. I also like bothys and old ruins we have in the past visited the Oyster clough shooting cabin, but never got in to sign the book - that's a story for another time. Have you visited 3 Jack's cabin ruins at the top of Grindsbrook on Kinder? To update you on our trip we arrived Sunday and visited Totley Moor trig, fantastic views into the Peak District from here! On Monday we parked at Bowden Bridge car park and walked up William Clough, Ashop Head onto the Kinder plateu along to the downfall, we then dropped down just after Red Brook walked through Cluther Rocks and onto Broad Clough and back to the car park. We have some awesome photo's and drone footage. It's been 14 years since we last done that walk and the children done really well. Yesterday before we came home we popped to Castleton. We are coming back in three weeks and would like to find the Dog Stone at Cluther Rocks, we were really close to it, but didn't look for it as time was getting on. It, along with the upper derwent valley (which may or not be considered part of bleaklow depending on who you ask) are my favourite areas of the Peaks. You’ve done some great walk routes on the mountain! Crooked Clough isn’t too tough, just a couple of tricky bits. I’m hoping to do another wildcamp soon but I want good weather for it! And - as you say - I’ve not had much luck with the weather recently! I think you’ll love my next video. It includes parts of Bleaklow you know, but reached via a very different route. Once again it rained! But the views more than made up for it. I got some incredible footage of the low cloud swirling up the Cloughs! Take care x

It’s a bit like a place I took my daughter exploring when she was little. That was 35 years ago. Cannot recall the name though. Help!!👀 Peace

Hi Kevin another great vid in the bag! We've never heard of the Fox Stones, did manage to find them marked on an os map after watching last night. What we like and find interesting about your channel is that as you state, you go where others don't. We watch a few other UA-camrs located around the Peak District, there are also alot we don't watch as we just don't take to them, but what we find is they are mostly all going to the same places and doing the same thing. It's interesting to watch different people as it helps us to navigate the lay of the land so when we head up it's easier for us to plan our adventures etc... Your on to a great UA-cam adventure with fantastic adventures that stand out from the rest keep it up and stay safe out there! Thankyou 🙂.

Hey guys thanks for watching (as always), and for your lovely words. I do strive to do something different from most UA-camrs and it isn’t always easy to find walks / areas that most people don’t do / visit. Your comment means a lot to me :)

Hey, how are you? Thanks for watching. I’m sorry UA-cam keeps unsubscribing you. I’ve no idea why but I have heard other UA-camrs talking about this happening so it’s not just you! The only info I have about the sacrifices to the norse gods is from a book I have. There are 2 rock features on the side of the valley - Gallows Rocher and Raven Rocher where this is supposed to have happened. Unfortunately I’ve not been able to find out more. Let me know if you uncover anything on it.

love your videos, but don't give to many of these secret places away...been over that way a few times myself..never managed to find the Stone circle/ Ring Cairn..i remember speaking to a farmer who made out he knew nothing about it...a secret place for sure.

Thanks mate. That’s my second video in that area and when I was doing the first (my first time there) I did ask myself whether I should be giving the location away. Luckily my videos don’t get many views 😂. I’ve been to the stone circle a couple of times. You can only see a few of the stones and then only when you trip up on them! It’s a great area to walk / explore though. Thanks for watching/ commenting I appreciate it 👍
