This video was exactly what I was looking for. I was able to locate the little swing arm which was key. However even after moving those I cannot disconnect from the carriage. It looks super simple in the video but mine will not budge. Thoughts?

I hate these blinds! We had a small house fire and soot got all over our blinds like these and they're impossible to clean completely. I got so aggravated I just popped them all off the snap thing and stuck them in a bathtub with dawn dish soap..and meaahahhaaa MY Blinds are freaking Cleannnn! Finally. if you have torn the hole on the end of the slat that clips in to hang, flip the blind over and make a new slot/hole with a paper punch, punch a single hole in the center then nibble left and right to make it like a slot and rehang it.

The only repair you demonstrated was adding that piece where the hole was broken. Not sure how anyone learned how you quickly removed the vanes because, um, you were like Speedy Gonzalez (old cartoon). As for when to replace completely, duh on “when a new one costs less than shipping.” Thank you for wasting my time. And, you need to fix the chain so that the blinds open and close smoothly. No way these reviews are completely legit, esp since no one explained what was learned.

I had to give this a down vote because you did not explain how to remove and replace a broken clip. Though you did explain how to remove the slats, the valance, and the head rail.

I paid about 45 bucks for one of these. With the wand. I got the blades for 15 bucks at office Depot.

So my problem is my chain is totally uneven and can no longer open the slates to open. Is there a way to readjust the chain?

Thanks for the video! One thing that, at least to me, seems unclear is how to remove the valance. You show unscrewing that center bracket, but it doesn't seem to be long enough to reach over and have any effect on the valance. (Does it?) And in that same section you show that something was done over on the left side of the structure, but you don't mention it, so I'm not sure exactly what happened. Would you be able to clear this up? Since the valance is step 1, I want to make sure I get it right. Thank you!!

What can be done if the blinds only retract on one side? They rotate fine. But when I pull the cord to move the slats to the sides (they open from the middle and collect on each side), only one side retracts. The other I have to move by hand. Is there a way to “restring” this?

Hey there, I'm having another issue with my blinds. When I try to turn the wand to let partial light in it only opens about 10% and never anymore, very frustrating. My only option is to completely pull the whole blind open but then everyone can see inside. Do you have a fix or do I need new blinds please?
