Sinful the price of rent in NYC.. i don't give a fk about a park down the street or views of the dirty water or a bunch of trees ( although we need our trees) how the hell does any of those things equate to tiny chopped up apartments where you can literally hold your arms out in the middle of the room and touch all corners of the apartment and i won't even mention the tiny closet that only fits 6 hangers .there's a agenda to get rid of low income and what's considered middle class ppl from out of NYC. The garbage ppl will create and try to convince you its more than what your eyes are looking at. There needs to be a law to protect renters from having to settle for mediocre unkempt old modelled buildings with 1990s frigidaire and stoves , radiators that whistle and rodents for $ 3,000 a month

Hey NK agree that it is hard to make real connections here. Coming from Europe most people I have befriended here are either European or Latin American or Asian. There seems to be something in the american culture that prevents deep connection, or at least it takes a lot more time. Happy to get a coffee together in Manhattan sometime if you'd like, see if we connect. Great video and thanks for the share! NYC having so many people in it, one would think it's easy to build community but it's not. And in a way being surrounded by so many people makes one feel lonelier or wonder why they don't have connections, as it's not from lack of people around. Hope you feel better since posting this.

Hey there, thanks for sharing! I get ya, and I will say New York, especially NYC is hard to make connections. I’m a native and have lived in the city, in the suburbs and in So CA. I experienced a kind of culture shock when I moved to San Diego and random people at the grocery were being chatty! The city is the complete opposite and you can imagine getting one way in your system to then having to adjust to being open and friendly and god forbid chatty!! Anyway, just know we all go thru these periods when we move to a new place. I think what has helped me is to take each place for what it is. Let it unfold in its own way and time. Don’t focus on the lack of something but see it as you are I. The midst of learning and exploring. I eventually came back to NY and live outside the city and that was an adjustment as well. Now I can say I’m more well rounded and can fit in with different groups! You’re a cali girl adjusting to NY. Hope this helps.
