January comes to an end and we have got loads done!
We have been very productive through January - getting ready for those seeds to start sprouting and the real fun to begin.
We chitted potatoes, transplanted some leeks and finished getting the paths sorted.
We also improved the hot bed to make a kind of hot-cold frame... will be interesting to see if it works!

This weeks task was to empty and turn the 2 compost heaps on the plot. They are made from pallets and when we checked the temperature seemed pretty dormant. Best part was we got a huge amount of great compost whic...

We also had a big delivery of wood chip so spent some time tidying up the paths and making things look much tidier. No broad ...

It is a quiet month and obviously we are itching to get cracking but there are still things we can get done on the plot.. a tidy up, some lost plants and a compost workshop!

Sorry for my laboured breathing! I had been doing loads of wheel barrow trips and using the mattock to get rid of brambles... I should have had a chill before doing the video :D We have a standard size plot that is in pretty good shape as we have had the allotment for years. We also have a new strip that was overgrown that our neighbour has said we can make use of.. lot's to do ahead of the gro...

A snowy plot visit to grab a few of the last sprouts.

We popped down to the allotments because snow! ... but also to grab a leek and some of the last sprouts for our Sunday dinner. :)
