Women are given the message in subtle and not-so-subtle ways that we are not enough.
Whether we're told that our body type is "not right" or our personality does not conform to someone's idea of what it "should" be, it is time that we learn to love and accept ourselves for who we are.
Men are stifled in a different way; told only certain emotions are acceptable and taught from an early age that they shouldn't be "sensitive".
The good news is, happiness is our choice.
When we know how to take premium care of ourselves we can give ourselves the gift of real, deep, enduring happiness.

20 Minute Blissful Yin Yoga | (Ahhhh So Soothing!)
Here is a 20 minute blissful Yin Yoga class for your enjoyment.
Practice Yin Yoga #WithMe!
We had gentle rain and thunder here in the desert during the filming of this video... the natural background sounds combined with the soothing music created by arcanebard14 make for a very comforting Yin Yoga video that you could follow along with, or you could choose to simply play the video in the background just for relaxation and ambience.
Although it was raining and thundering out when I filmed this, the mic did not pick it up. So I did add some soft rain sounds periodically throughout the video. What can I say? Je suis une artiste.
Chapters for your convenience:
00:00 Rain in the Desert
00:35 Warmup
02:50 Yin Pose #1
06:11 Yin Pose #1 2nd Side
09:05 Yin Pose #2
11:32 Yin Pose #2 2nd Side
14:05 Yin Pose #3
16:16 Yin Pose #4
16:55 Yin Pose #5
17:51 Yin Pose #6
19:07 Yin Pose #7
19:40 Meditation & Namaste
*I set my timer for 20 minutes and intended to do this video with no editing but some edits had to be made (camera battery died in the middle and had to be replaced, for example.) So, the length of the actual Yin session is 20-ISH minutes; pretty close to 20 minutes; but probably not EXACTLY 20 minutes. Just wanted to clarify. At the end of the video I invite you to remain in your Pentacle pose for as long as you wish... you may want to remain there longer as it is quite the comfortable yoga pose!
I hope that this #YinYogaClass helps you with calming, centering, grounding, and anxiety relief. Universe knows there has been a lot of uncertainty in our lives lately and we can all use a dose of simplicity, ease, and sanctuary. Yin is probably the most #meditative style of yoga as there are many opportunities to meditate throughout the practice as your body moves toward divine stillness.
Please leave me a comment and let me know if you like to practice Yin Yoga. If you like to practice yoga at all, please let me know your favorite style or lineage of yoga. I'd love to know! Please also feel free to ask any questions!

What about the link for the longboard in amazon? I use my daughter's cruiser board, but I feel kind of scared, maybe longboard is a beter fit for a 44 y0ld
On Amazon search up ‘Volador longboard’. They have a few different graphics patterns to choose from. I used to have an affiliate link on here but even though people were buying the longboard after watching this video, Amzn. never paid me so I just removed the affiliate link. This video wasn’t made to promote a specific board anyway, but just to encourage more people to give longboarding a try. Be safe and have fun!

Hello and thank you for the good idea. I will make that video soon. Appreciate your comment. 🙏🏼💕
Good video. Congratulations!!!!!
Why thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 💓
Great and positive video instructions, thanks very much! 😃I'm a 52 years old Danish male, who has just tried his son's longboard for the first time - and luckily, I'm still alive, which is probably mainly because of Stiga mini skis-training back in the 1980's... ⛷🍀😊
Hi there, I'm pretty sure I replied before but for whatever reason it is not showing up on here. It is awesome to hear that you tried longboarding on your son's longboard! It is also awesome that you are still alive! Although I am not familiar with Stiga mini skis, it definitely makes sense that your training back in the 80s would still be helping you with balance, etc. My cousin was an exchange student in Denmark for a year and she came home speaking fluent Danish, it was amazing. Based on what she told me, Denmark must be a pretty wonderful place. Take care out there, please stay safe! I'll bet your son is getting a kick out of the fact that you're longboarding! 👍🏾💖👏😍⛷️
Thx for posting! I’m 55 and learning to surf which I suck at so I thought maybe a longboard skateboard might help me out. I know I’m physically able, it’s mentally where I struggle - I’m scared! And that annoys the hec outta me!! That’s why I’m making myself do these things! To get over that mental block. So thx for posting this inspo ❤ , from us older - but not that old - gals 🦘 🇦🇺
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! It is wonderful to hear that you are working on getting over your mental block. I think it's so amazing that you're learning to surf!! I so wish I could do that. Regarding longboarding, I hear you, longboarding can be scary and intimidating. Glad to hear that you found the video to be inspo, lol. I like the way you described our age, we're older than some but not that old! Stay safe and remember to keep your knees bent when you're on your longboard! 💕 Much love from USA
I'm in my late fifties and I'm longboarding❤❤ ua-cam.com/users/shortscI5hwQI7t_k?si=Js07QkWtpK6oy3a9
Hello and thank you for commenting. This is wonderful to hear. Dig your video! 👍💓
I’m 55 and still boarding. Love it! Get em girl!👏
Thank you, I love hearing from people who have continued to longboard past 50! 💕👍🏽
What if that board would’ve kept going on under that gate at 11:50?
Good question. The street behind the gate is not usually too busy, so I would probably have just used the pedestrian code to open the gate, and ran out and grabbed the board. Hopefully without it causing any damage. lol! 😀
Never wear shorts. Is rule number 1 also when you can wear longsleeves or a jacket
Yeah it's probably safer to have more skin coverage!
Thank you, you have heart!
That is a very kind comment, much appreciated!! 💓
44... Yesterday i bought a Board for my son, today...i bought one for me 🤩🙈
That is awesome, I hope the two of you can enjoy some ride time together!! Stay safe out there! Let us know how it goes. :D
Hi ! Are you still surfing? I thinking of buyin longboard too in my age (almost 40 ) :)
So unfortunately my longboard got all warped and I haven't ridden as much. My son got a new longboard and I jump on that occasionally but it has a whole different feel from the one I was used to. I plan to get a new one that feels right to me again soon, I think at almost 40 you should give it a try! You might find you really like it! :D
Thank you. I'm 63 and just beginning. I'm loving learning something new and stoked that I am progressing. Like you, I only want to cruise around and enjoy that feeling of floating along. :)
Oh that is awesome! You can do it. Suggest that you simply start slow. Yeah the cruising/ flying/ floating along feeling is pretty blissful. The falling and terror not so much ha ha. But if you keep it slow and steady especially at first there shouldn't be too much of the scary stuff. Let us know how it goes for you! Wishing you lots of enjoyable longboarding! 💖
I’m 56 and want to start longboard on a board I received for my 5Oth birthday.
Oh my goodness, happy belated birthday and happy longboarding!! You can do it! Stay safe and have a great time! 🎂👍🏽🎶
I’m 53 and still ride down hills going the local gym and back. I added a land paddle couple of years ago and got 3 boards that are around 60 inches long & it has made it even more fun.
That sounds amazing, to have such long boards and land paddle, I am so happy to hear about your amazing experience! I bet you are in such great shape!! :D 😎💕👍🏽
Little edition tip is to run the clip through a stabilization program which you can wither get free pc mac programs or you can use a phone app specifically made just to stabalize clips. You would barely be able to tell the persona running at all if at all. And an extra tip is to then upscale the clip after stabalizing it using the same method for video upscaling program or website to repair the resolution lost during stabilization process. Very quick, easy but big difference for the viewer. Great video,im 40 and just learned also. Was lucky to find a board local on day i wanted to start. I actually learned to skateboard on a ripstick. Keep up the good work .
Thank you for the video editing tips! I certainly could stand to improve my video quality especially with the shakiness and camera instability. I'm glad you learned to longboard at 40, well honestly 40 seems so young to me now! That is cool that you learned to board on a ripstick! Will try to make more longboarding content soon, hope you're having an amazing summer and getting in some great ride time! 😁👍🏽
Just turned 40 in March and took up longboarding. Originally I just wanted to cruise around, but after I got tired of pushing I started looking for hills, then came the speed, and now I’m hooked!
Happy belated 40th birthday to you! It's awesome that you have already gotten past the cruising and pushing stage and are already going on hills at speed!! It is addicting, I totally understand why you're hooked! Be safe; at 40 you have potentially many decades of enjoyment ahead! 💖 👍🏽 😎
Thank you! Your video is sooo inspiring. I'm 42 turning 43 in 2 months and just got a loaded longboard so I could cruise on the beach strands. It'll be my first time. And I am so excited. ;-)
Hi there, aww thank you for saying that the video is inspiring! I'm super excited for you, happy birthday! I wish I lived near a beach so I could cruise the beach strands too, lol, I adore looking at the ocean... you are lucky! Please be extra careful when you start, I am super excited for you! 💖👍🏽😎
LOVE this!!! I have a longboard that I used and had a bad crash on, haven't used it since I graduated college. I'm 37 now and am looking at it, leaning against my wall. Time to get back on it.
Aww, thanks for saying that you love this! Wow, that's impressive that you are even considering getting back on after a bad crash, that is the biggest drawback I suppose, the potential for hurting oneself. Well please be safe out there, just go slow until you get really comfortable is the best advice I can give to anyone, there is much enjoyment to be found on the longboard as long as you can be safe! :D Wishing you a great era of safe and enjoyable longboarding! 👍🏽💕🎶
I really love your enthusiasm for longboarding and your willingness to share your journey of how you took your time to get here at your own pace. I only recently started longboarding in lockdown during my mid-twenties so I've been kind of wondering how long I can really invest in this hobby, but seeing your video makes me feel inspired that I can keep this hobby up even when I'm older :)
Oh heavens yes, in your mid-twenties you have so many journeys awaiting you! You can most probably do it, even when you are older. In fact if you learn now, you will probably be very strong in your skill level by the time you are my age. For me it was a little embarrassing at times because neighbors and passerby witnessed my frequent flailing, but some people were quite encouraging which was definitely appreciated. Thanks for leaving this comment! Yay for Chaotic Good! :D 💖👍🏽
People who enjoy riding on a board are beautiful. If you still at it you're probably more stable, learned some reflex and way to go, turn and slowing more comfortable. I'm 46 (living in France so excuse my french ;) and being skateboarding hills in my young years(around 13 to 17) and now for some 10 years riding longboard, either for cruising or transport in city streets or drifting downhill and keeping balance with speed and not too much speed. You cover some basics with a good step by step approach i guess, a good way to approach and overcome fear. The part about warming before any exercise is a good thing to do and help as well not being too stiff and avoiding pains that'll not come from falls and doing some minutes of it always underestimated i guess, even for some most experienced skateboarders. As you suggest i'll try some advice, this first part as i've read some comments on your video: _safety and falls : To add to helmet if you feel you can go some speed(head rarely injured in falls but having it on can save like on a bike ride) ankles, knees and elbows protections's are common to any skating sport and can be easily found. When falling back first move/reflex will be to put hands(or miss it and knock elbows) on the ground and it can hurt. Kneees are generally useful when falling in front and even it's rarer you'll enjoy not hitting your knees on pavement(mostly for high speed that beginner who can't control or stop properly will avoid anyway). When some basics to push and get speed learned most of minor injuries could be bruising flesh as the body sliding on the ground, so wearing a vest or a sweat with sleeves will lower or avoid most of that part, same for a longer pants Vs. short pants. _boards: there's different size and shape of longboard(also stiffness of the deck, the stiffer the more stable for speeding the softer the more comfort), each one adapted to some particular use. The one you show in the video is called mounted "dropthrough" for being closer to the ground for helping stability at the higher speed and while sliding or drifting downhill. Usually cruising boards are a bit larger(to have more comfort when crusing around on flat) and having kick tails(as on regular skate but in longer and larger board). The kick allow to set firmer the back foot and even being stabler while riding on flat, push or arise a bit the front while turning and even doing some tricks if you keen on that. So not having one i not reccomend for beginning and if your goal if cruising and traveling through towns. _carving and turning: Don't forget you can adjust the screws to loose or tightened trucks. The looser they're the more wider and easier you will turn and if tigthened you'll gain more speed by pushing. When you're rolling straigth you put your foot at th center line of the deck(each around the truck position for a begin it'll be the easier). When you want to turn you will lean the side you want to go. When lowering a bit your knees standing quite staigth your upper body(in regard of the ground) you'll lower your gravity. It's commonly called(at least in my country) "the position of the guy who poo"(not sure of translation but it's for giving the idea, so you crouch with the upper body approximatively 90 degrees to the ground). Before crouching you can move your feets(both) closer to the side you want to turn, lean the board and crouch. It'll help to give you a nice and wide turn(you need to have a bit of speed or you can easily stop if not). And at the end of the turn/carve if you stand up again it'll give an extra momentum to not loosing too much speed and having to push less. While standing back( by no more crouching with jknees) you'll automaticaly push with alll your body weigth the board against the ground and that again help to being more stable and direct the leaning back the way you want. Or more commonly from the little crouch and/or the standind position you lean gently(not much but enough to lean the board with your feet) your upper body alternatively up and back, having arms and hands pointing the same direction help a lot as the shoulders will follow, so do "S" shaped curves alternatively and there you're good at the carving part. All the body will follow your arms, you can "twerk" your butt the same(opposite to the arms so) to remain stable. Depending if you're regular or goofy you can lead the way you want the carving pushing your arms in front of you and darting your back the opposite, or getting your hands and torso towards behind you while your hips leading in your front and orienting your ankles backward or forward. I hope i'm not too unclear(as not too boring) even with my poor english speaking, i liked your video when at home 6 full days of rain ad more to come, i want badly to go on my longboard. For now i just go outside and doing some workout in a sheltered place or while rain stop to pour... i'll try some of the yoga pause you've shown. Cheers and good rides
Bonjour! What a great comment to read! So many good and helpful suggestions. Honestly you know a lot about this subject - have you considered making a video yourself? Or perhaps you already have a UA-cam channel? Ahh France, how lovely, I hope the rain has stopped and you have had a chance to get back outside. It rarely rains here as we are in the desert, though we've had a bit more this year than usual. Your comment was well thought out and your English is excellent. I am going to share these tips with my sons as well. Take care! 🙏🏼💕👍🏼😃
Thanks for the informative and encouraging video! You seem like a lovely lady. :) I'm 54 and just ordered my first longboard and am very excited to start. I have never tried Yoga, but I have practiced KungFu, ChiGong and TaiChi for ten years. I am eager to see if I can perform some TaiChi form on the longboard. Do you do Yoga moves on yours?
Oh wow, this is such an awesome comment! I got so happy reading your words. Because of all your wonderful mind-body practices I totally know you can get the hang of longboarding. Yes I've done a few yoga moves on the longboard, Warrior II arms are kind of a natural shape to take when cruising, I've toyed with Warrior III. There is a woman named Pat McGhee who used to do handstands on her skateboard in the 1960s-that trick blows my mind! Would love to be able to do that one of these days, but first I have to learn to balance a handstand away from the wall... ha ha. Stay safe and enjoy!! 🌸😊🌸😊
Cool video, you are getting really good 👍💯
Aww thank you so much. Definitely still need to practice but it's a very fun activity even just at a basic level. 🙏🏽💕😀
Im 50 started with snowboard 5 years ago. Minne yngest daughter started with skateboard/ longboard so I got intressted in longboard its fun. Age is just an number:)
Thank you for your comment! How awesome that you and your daughter can longboard together! It's such a great way for us to spend quality time with our teen & young adult children!
And because you started with snowboard, you probably already have the strength, balance and coordination needed!
I just got my first cruiser board & Im 34
No experience at all mind you, thank for the video
34 seems extremely young to me now! Hooray that you just got your first cruiser board! 🎉 Hope you have yourself a blast! 😍
You can do it! Stay safe out there! :)
I am 56 and longboard. If you have not done it after 50: DO NOT TRY IT. I just saved you tons of money.
Depends on the person, if they're already leading an active lifestyle and practicing something like yoga that maintains flexibility and balance, and eating healthy enough that their body and bones stay strong, they could probably do some gentle longboarding safely. Trying to bomb hills or do crazy tricks or anything beyond a basic slow ride, would not be a good idea until they get to a point where they feel extremely comfortable on the board and have been riding for a while. But yeah one must be honest with themselves about where they're at when making the decision on whether to attempt something new and relatively risky like longboarding. Stay safe and have fun. It's wonderful to hear from people who longboard in their fifties & beyond! 😀🎉👍
She's so beautifull
Thank you for your kind words. Sparkle filter helps. Lol. 🙏🏼
I'm sure already somebody told you, but just in case - you're wearing the wrist guards the wrong way! The plastic goes to protect the wrist from below!
Yes, someone else did tell me... oopsie! I am grateful to you guys for letting me know!
I’d cruise with a 40yo. Need some people to cruise with
Aww. Thanks for saying you would cruise with a 40 yo. It can be tough to find friends who have similar interests. You could visit a local skate park or join an online group that has meetups in your area. Good luck. I hope that you do find a fun boarding buddy or budette. 👍🙏🏽🌞
Thank you , almost 44 and have a longboard ordered for exercise
Excellent! Yes longboards are great for fresh air, sunshine & exercise!
Bought a longboard for my 42 birthday. I’m looking forward to easing myself in! Helpful video! Thanks
How wonderful! Easing yourself in is a perfect approach. 😊 Happy birthday! 👍🛹🥳
Thanks for this video! I’m 40 and my first longboard arrives later in the week. I have no skating experience at all so this has been a superb help.
It's nice to hear that the video was a superb help! 40 seems so youthful to me now, you could have some wonderful skate years - maybe decades - ahead! Come back and leave a follow-up post & tell us about your experience with your first longboard! 😃👍🎉
That color is gorgeous!
Aww, thank you!
The positive: as a 49er I could afford aan expensive long board, everybody loves it
That is awesome 😎 lol 🤑
I'm a skater myself at 49 too. I was wondering how your process was, because I have found many people who mock at me and say I must "grow up".
Oh noo! That's not fair. They'll realize it someday that people in their 40s & 50s deserve to have fun too.
Hi, I enjoyed your teaching session! I am 61 and live in New Zealand. I have never been on a skateboard but alway admired the effortless look of those long boarders. I like your advice to begin with standing on the board first and getting used to the feeling of stepping on and off. I have bought a used board and will buy the safety gear before I take the board on the street. My son and wife think this is some kind of mid- late life crisis but I'm going to give it a good go. I don't know if they have long boards in the afterlife. You did a great job making this video! Thank you.
Oh, that's awesome! Well if it is a midlife crisis (may have been for me,) at least you're doing something healthy and positive for yourself. Also you could possibly even longboard with your wife & son too someday, so you're not crazy. Hope you enjoy yourself out there. One tip that I forgot to share in the video, is to start on non-busy streets so you won't have to worry about cars or even other boarders. When you're first starting it's good to have a paved area all to yourself until you get more comfortable on your longboard. Please keep me posted on how it goes! Say hi to New Zealand from Las Vegas! 👍🏼🌸😎🙏🏽🌞🛹
Wear a helmet. Be safe. Have fun.
Thanks for leaving a comment! :)
I like the content in this video, quite inspiring. There is something wrong about the footage, though - camera seems to be too stable, it should move a little more.
Bwahaha, you're right, I've never been accused of camera instability before, never ever. It seems to be an inborn talent for filming perfect handheld footage, some might call it a gift! 😂 Kidding. Thank you for the comment... in seriousness I will work on reducing that camera shake in future videos. 🤳
I would love to longboard with you I'm in the Las Vegas area myself 🛹🛹
Maybe one of these days! Unfortunately my longboard got warped and I've gotten out of practice. My son did get a new one for his birthday in December so I am going to start practicing again on his. Because it's been a long time and I'll be on a new/ different longboard it might be kind of like starting all over again. So I'd have to really get the rust worked out before I'd feel comfortable attempting to ride with anyone else!
Your able to tighten the trucks with a wrench or a skate tool good video 😀🔥
Thanks for the tip and the comment! Thankfully my son has shown me how to use the skate tool. Happy New Year! 🎉
If 50 is the new 30, I'm only 31! I'm inspired and got a longboard too
That's a great way to think of it. Enjoy yourself and be careful out there. Let us know how it goes! 🎉😁
so inspiring
Aww ty 🙏🏽🥰
Just started skateboarding at 46
The perfect age to start! ✨ 🛹👍🏽🤩 I hope it goes well for you. Stay safe!
I picked up long boarding three years ago at fifty two. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! Of course I've broken a collar bone, sprained knees and ankles, dislocated fingers and would do it all again! My kids and I have a ball out on the roll!
I love how you still think it's the best decision you ever made even after all those injuries. It's worth it... probably... well especially if you have a great time with your kids! :D 👏🏽😎💕
@@TruHolisticPathways Hell, the injuries were just transient events. The Peace and Zen I can find while on the roll surfing the asphalt ocean are is ETERNAL and TIMELESS. Hard to describe but I bet you feel me here, right?? Skate or Die. Peace!
You're right, Peace and Zen are the best!! Thanks for writing in. It's very cool to hear your perspective. Hugs from Las Vegas! 🤗🤗
49 and just bought my 2nd longboard so I can skate with my grandsons!
Oh, that's so cool! What a wonderful way to spend time with your loved ones. 😎
I love seeing videos of people over 30 learning new hobbies, its never to late to learn something new!!
Agree, and thank you so much for your comment! 😊
I started at 37 and have one good leg due to a nasty car accident. Feel like anyone can if I can
Thanks for writing in! That's very cool that you're still riding your board in spite of a leg injury. Mindset is huge! 🙏🏽😃
Love that you donated the old board to a kid! Sure you made her day
Yeah, she was pretty happy about that! 😀
I'm 56, have several boards, I enjoy longboard freestyle and dancing, and some downhill, love it
Oh how wonderful, that's so great to hear, thank you for letting me know! Very inspiring! ☀️😎
