Hello all! Thanks for visiting my page. I am just a normal dude who has tremendously appreciated finding reviews on different products from fellow UA-camrs. UA-cam has become my "go to place" to check out what people think of different items before I purchase something myself. We all work too hard to buy products that we end up disappointed in. I started this channel as a way of giving back (and to give me a little hobby). My hope is this, if you are interested in buying something and you want to check out a review first, that my review helps you determine whether or not you actually want to buy the item. At this time, I buy all these items myself. I promise to give my best thoughts and criticism to help YOU make that purchase as a "Wise Buyer."

Warrior Poet Folding Karambit - Review
Переглядів 9 тис.2 роки тому
My wife got me a fantastic Christmas gift... The WPS Folding Karambit! I really liked this knife, however I am going to need to spend more time training with this knife to become proficient with it. Another great knife from WPS. You can check out the WPS knives here. (warriorpoetsupplyco.com/knives) I am no knife expert, HOWEVER if you are like me and new to using a Karambit you definitely want...
Streamlight's the Wedge...the Best covert flashlight yet?

Streamlight was kind enough to sponsor this video in sending me the Wedge. I really liked this light for a very specific application. This light has a couple drawbacks that may be deal breakers, however it has a couple features that I think are really fantastic. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

EDC Belts (5.11, Nexbelt, Ares Gear, MidwayUSA)
Thanks - is this bag black? Looks like a grey/green which I can’t see on the Vertx website
This one is not black. The first video I made used the black bag, this one is the smoke grey.
@@thewisebuyguy thanks, must be my location (Australia) showing limited options
waist belt tends to slip , any solution you recommend ?
Maybe a paper clip?
waist belt tends to slip , any solution you recommend ?
Maybe a paper clip? Like a small black binder one, not the little office ones.
Very informative. Good video. Thanks.
I have the SOCP and cut the cell phone pocket off. I think it works better without it. I don’t like wearing the SOCP cross body. For me it works better as a Fanny pack. I think the every day would work a lot better cross body.
All I carry on me is Glock 43, mag, wallet, keys and phone. If I was going to war I wouldn’t be wearing this pack.
I stare at people wearing cross body, I don’t live in NY.
lol
Had to sub what a great video
Thank you! Glad you liked it and appreciate the sub!
How’s the fit compared to your normal pant size and your height?
Fits perfectly! That little stretchy part keeps it to where you should be able to order the same size that you normally wear, and then when you add the gun, it just expands as needed or if you eat too much food lol
Very thorough video thank you very much 🎉
Just from a security standpoint, having the buckle on the front aught to be a 5 star feature. Buckle on the back is a great way for someone to be able to pop it off you and run.
Nice information thank you
Thank you just found your channel
Great video. Thanks for sharing. God Bless!
Various reasons for the little webbing loop - protecting your skin/clothes from the hook and loop is part of it, and also enabling you to loop it on a carabiner or keys or whatever. I actually used those same neoprene carriers a lot before we had our own, they aren’t good for mags, which is what they are made for, but are great for the ETQ. The neoprene carriers are made in China, ours are made in USA, but yeah, they cost a lot to make, and the awesome and vastly superior DCC clip is very expensive. Glad you like the ETQ. Put my heart and soul into it. Cheers
I love it! Goes with me every day. It’s probably one of the best EDC items I have found. And you are right about those clips, they are quite expensive. Lol. Also, thanks for the clarification on that little webbing loop. I would have never thought about a carabiner or something. Brilliant.
@@thewisebuyguy awesome.
Might want to get a smaller wallet. They have several different types that are more compact and lightweight that can hold just as much as a traditional wallet.
I’ve tried a couple different wallets, but for all the different stuff I carry, (not just cards) this one has been the best and smallest one I can find.
Just got this bag and really like it except for the phone carrier pocket. The middle compartment is great for keys, wallet, knife and small Tourniquet. CCW compartment fits extra mag and shield with holosun. Thinking about just cutting front pocket off as it feels too bulky front to back.
Just cut the phone pocket off and the bag looks so much better. The Vertx logo is now visible and it’s not as thick now.
Great detailed review. I'm a huge fan of the Fanny sack and how compact it is. I do want a slightly bigger option, and I think this will be it.
I’m stoked / irritated. I do really love my SOCP, but the front pocket was always a total joke. 😤I have a regular sized iPhone 14 Pro, and it will NOT fit in there with a slim case on. For how big the bag is, it’s really annoying. It’s so much wasted space. The zipper seems like a great improvement, but did they increase the size of the pocket at all? . There are a few seamstress / tailors around. I might honestly take this video to them and see if they could stick a zipper in my old SOCP for me. 😂 Excellent review & video! Thanks for actually going thru the pockets clearly & so we can actually see them & doing a great comparison. I feel like most review videos these days are done in caves with no lighting and they pick the darkest color bag so you can’t see shit. 🙄😐
Does the main compartment already have velcro on one side? Is the velcro strong enough to pull the firearm out of the holster while keeping the holster secure? Thank you.
Yes. Plenty of soft loop on the body side of the pack. I haven’t had any issues with the holster coming out during 4 hour range sessions.
@@thewisebuyguy Thank you. I like the sage color bag because it does not look tactical. Most people wouldn't think "gun" bag. Pairing this up with the 945 industries kydex velcro holster should be a winner. I think the 945 industries QAPS bag is a little tight on the front pocket for an iPhone 15 Pro.
great review, what pepper spray is that?
POM :)
@@thewisebuyguy thanks!
Thank you very much for your purchase. It’s an honor that you chose my blades over all the options out there.
I wanted to love the SOCP as a cross body, but i absolutely hate it. It doesn't sit flat against your body and rotates fwd even without concealed. I do like it as a fanny but I wish they did one with a quick pull strap. I have a 30$ jawn i got off Amazon that is infinitely better for concealed carry. The long walks has me intrigued, tho.
Lena wanted to have the buckle in front for security reasons. Someone could approach from the rear and unbuckle and take from you .
Oh nice background details! Didn’t know that. I guess that makes sense, but it’s annoying for sure. 😅
@@thewisebuyguyhave you tried switching the method in which you put it on? Meaning if you switched your hands, would it be easier to put on?
@@911JSS easiest way I have found is holding the bag in the right hand and swinging the buckle around.
SOCP bag without the cellphone flap would definitely be the ultimate fanny pack. Been using mine all week in Europe and really wish that front space wasn't wasted with the surveillance thingy
Check out the new SOCP! Have a video on that, THEY FIXED IT!
Would have been nice if they put buckle on front/side on new one
That little pouch on the SOCP I would just my key fob in there and place keys else were.
Thank you for showing the top/side profiles when loaded! It's a very useful, and often overlooked thing for most reviewers.
Thanks for the review! Put an order in for a piranha today, with the sentry ring. Next up will more than likely be the nightstalker. Now the waiting game. 😊
Great vid, great blades! Apr 1 Tkell is dropping more blades!
This bag is bad ass you can fit a mark 23 with +3 mag extension in there
The little loop on the bottom center is good for a clip on blinking red light for bike riding. Just turn the bag facing the rear.
Good video; Thank you!
9:33 I think the website says that’s so you can put a lanyard on it and put yr keys on it
I just got one of the Long Walks "don't-call-it-a-fanny-pack" "waist packs" and I also have a Vertx backpack now as well, I always feel like Vertx gets 75% of the way there but leaves a lot to be desired. I love the 2 liter Long Walks waist pack, fits nearly perfectly; however, I wish i could have the option to wear it as a sling pack if I wanted to, I feel like it's a bit more casual especially in the blue color it doesn't scream "theres a gun in here" it flops forward when I wear it like that, if they had a second position for the straps it would be great. Straps come loose far too easily, they are easy to tighten but they loosen very easily, I'd like to see if I can put a piece of paracord around where the buckle is or something to act as a sort of stopper so it doesn't come loose as easily on its own. The velcro on the inside is great I just wish it had a bit more internal organizers but then again they want you to buy their tactigami inserts for that.
I wish more manufacturers would use Fidlock or create their own version of a Fidlock buckle...
If they're really intent on keeping that spy pocket, they need to just make a new bag that's exactly the same, but completely replace the phone pocket with just a pocket, w/top zip. Literally just another pocket... Almost perfect Vertx. ALMOST. Also, add the same buckle as from the long walk fanny pack. Or just use a Fidlock.
Good review
Great review bro. Seems like in both of your videos the SOCP is best.
Awesome review!
How long is the waist belt? Thanks!
The SOCP is like 19 inches per side… I think the Long Walks was close to that! It’s plenty large for crossbody or fanny pack for a larger dude.
Give the Helikon Tex Bandicoot a look. You might like it.
SOCP I believe is around the 4 to 4.5 cubic size
I don’t actually know what the cubic size is. Vertex to my knowledge has never disclaimed it. They give the dimensions and such (which I’m sure somebody could do the math on) but it’s not advertised like that, (that I have seen).
What about sheepdog or field craft survival Fanny packs?
I have not spent the money to get my hands on one of those for a comparison or contrast. I thought about sending both of them a message to see if they would sponsor me a bag… 😂
Tbf you could use the front pocket for more than just a phone in the old version as well, but the zipper on the new does seem like a big improvement.
I agree that you could’ve used the front pocket for more than a phone, however, the zipper actually makes it a legitimate pocket, which in my opinion is way better!
In case people wonder, Glock 19 with TLR-1 in a kydex holster fits perfectly in the Every Day fanny. A glock 17 with TLR-1 fits, but the grip is a little harder to get out.
How about glock 17 with a holosun optic and tlr-1?
@@Mrderekcf I tested a Glock 17 with a TLR-1 and it does fit, however it was definitely tighter than the 19. The draw will be more obstructed by the zipper and the bag, but it does fit. I don't have an optic to test that. With the Glock 17 I had to adjust the angle to get the grip to fully fit inside the bag.
s.o.C.p. s.o.C.p.😂 Thanks for your videos. Very helpful.
Glad you like them! And your comment wins 😂 I blame tired dad brain… and letters lol
Definitely hide it. Or, you can hide the small duffle bag into the big duffle bag😉
I just got the od and black one! Love that pack
Awsome review, the absolute best fixed blades, and Tim and camera wife are the best.
