I used to watch my dad and a childhood friend play House of the Dead 2 on the pc when I was like...9? ...I LOVED IT and it is a memorable game, most of it I somehow never forgot about? I did watch gameplays of all the main series games here on UA-cam years ago. The second game is my favourite cuz nostalgia but the first one is also great. And my second favourite is Overkill. I didn't like Scarlet Dawn, I might try to search for a gameplay of it again someday but based on the one I watched, I have one problem with Scarlet Dawn. ...It does not have Tarot inspired bosses. What makes Overkill the exception to this, is the fact the bosses there have a backstory but Scarlet Dawn makes it so the bosses don't have as much personality and look like the dark ages of Resident Evil between the 4th one and Biohazard + Village

I live in Brazil and if wifi was "not so common" in USA, you can imagine that it was worse here, but somehow at that time we had a aweful D-link router, so yes, relying on my poor English I watched every episode of Nintendo Week.

Dude, I'm late to this by like 2 years, but thank you so much for doing this! I remember watching Nintendo Week so much back then and playing the demos they had on offer back then, mainly the Ghost Trick and Fossil Fighters one's. Nintendo Week always gives me that feeling of 'winter morning' for some reason, and I do miss them. But once again, thank you a lot for making this! (Also; I saw your vid on LIT as well, and was overjoyed someone else remembered it. It's criminal that we never got the WiiWare version anywhere else.)

oh my godddddd the nostalgia rush this brings me 😭 I watched Nintendo Week RELIGIOUSLY as a kid; I didn't even have any interest in 95% of the games being advertised, but I loved the show so much, it was hilarious and so fun to me. The low-budget cheesiness of it all made up so much of the charm, and how the plot would just come to a screeching halt to advertise games, AND DARK GARY, Idk it was all a lot funnier than it should have been somehow. 😭 I have a strong memory of this one part with Gary being in a car hurtling through the air while he talked about a game, and then the bit ended with his car landing in water, which they showed by throwing a toy car in a tub??? I don't know why I remember that bit of all things but IT WAS SO FUNNY TO MEEEEEEE. AND I VAGUELY REMEMBER THE CHRISTMAS CAROL EPISODE TOO....... Peak series. I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one who remembers it and loved it, even if it's just a few other people. :')

You could throw in Sinden light gun compatibility & the original Arcade/Saturn Soundtrack for the PS5 version, and i still wouldn't be able to get over the awful rag doll enemy death physics, and cheap weird looking stuttering blood effects. This game lacks the polish and art direction of something like House of the Dead 2 when it was in it's prime during 99. That game had it all on Dreamcast. Still, Sinden Light gun Support plus the original score on PS5 would totally redeem the experience. Better yet, PlayStation VR2 and PC VR support would absolutely make it a must play! Will the PS5 be getting Sinden support by any chance? The PS5 doesn't have a sensor bar for it's duel sense gyro motion. HOTDR on PS5, as is, is not even worth playing. Broken unreliable gyro cross hair aiming OR having to resort to using an analogs tick to aim. It's a lose lose situation! :P

30fps? Buy the game for your switch, then dump/download the game online for your switch emulator. Run the game at 60fps and 1440p ultrawide if you want. It runs beautifully. If you have the pc for it, ig. My pc is 8 years old rn, with a slight cpu and gpu upgrade a couple years ago

I'm actually slightly older than TTYD is, so I've grown up with it my entire life, and love the thing to bits. It took be like... Less than a week to 100% it basically entirely blind, minus the cooking stuff because... I was never gonna find any of that shit out. Anywho, to my actual point, I never gave any real shits if Vivian was trans, little 5 year old me cared that she was a cool shadow lady with fire powers, and that's all I needed, and as I grew up and became aware of that discourse I never really thought on it too much. But thinking it over on the time before the games release, I figured it honestly worked either way. The otokonoko route is fine with me, because like... We have like no modern stories that tell me they're allowed to be feminine in any way without it being a net negative or making them gay or trans, and that could have been a pretty interesting story, saying that mean should allow themselves to have moments or even core parts of themselves that are traditionally viewed as feminine, and still be a man or manly in one form or another As for the trans side of things, well... The stories the one we got, so you already know what they'd do there. Politics aside, id wished they'd been a bit more clear with what's going on, because you could just as easily say she was a tomboy or something and it changes basically nothing, but eh. Honestly, either route is better then the water with no ice story the English version got before, where it was all the boring parts of Cinderella but with a fire witch, how you make something as interesting as "fire witch with gender issues" boring I have no clue, but they found a way. And as a final note.... We can have trans vivian, Mario taking part in drug deals, gang violence, Joline asking for a magazine for "research," and HD naked princess peach... But no goombas sexual harassment? 0/10 game, wouldn't even pirate it.

Overkill was my introduction to House of the Dead. My family and I played the absolute hell out of that game on Wii. Until it was no longer playable. I love how it’s like a Grindhouse film. It’s so much fun.
