Be careful using High setting I tried to flatten an ACDC Albert Red label time of 1.5 hours and the record is flat alright but cooked still plays just looks weird now
Liked your vid, I have the same type of cleaner with vinyl vac to dry, but I use my spin clean before the ultrasonic and my water and solution stays clean longer
You have to listen to these albums a few times to really appreciate them
That's the sound of distortion leaving your realm! I wonder if throwing my dentures in there would clean 'em?
I would probably not use the chemical mix I have in the video, but with just distilled water, I think it may clean them up :)
I would clean my LPs using devices like spin clean and they were never really clean. Lint and dirt would build up on the stylist during playback causing distortions and having to clean it often. After a cycle of ultrasonic cleaning that is all gone. I play my LPs again and again and have link build up. It's the best thing you can do for your LP collection. You can use 99% isopropyl just the same, its being diluted in water. The unit I have can do 7 LPs at a time. And you only need to run them 4 minutes unless very dirty.
Fantastic to hear! I like the 30 minutes and it hasn’t failed me yet. I know people who do 10 or 15, never heard 4 before. Glad it does the trick!
Why using the music you love? if its heavy music you drown any other sounds out...a dirty hardrock albums sounds great. You need more quiet music to let the audience hear the difference of before cleaning and after cleaning. Not because of loving or not loving that music but the cleaning comparison can be heard better. Of course if its dirty and you hear the dirt because you are used to this rock album, ok you as a fan knows the difference. But on youtube you can't hear the difference. WIth a quit record you can hear the dirt crackling more clearly and when it dissapears you can let it hear that better.
Nearvana?
Is there a problem?
Great video. After the cleaning do you rinse the Albums off with distilled water?
@@gregtraut3827 yes I use a spin clean with distilled water after they are cleaned the air dry them now
@@BriansVinylRecords thank you
after how many washed plates should you add new distilled water? thanks
@@bosvideo6582 once it looks dirty. I’d say maybe 50
Those records sound really muffled maybe your stylus or the microphone .
I'm so glad that I've found your video ! I've been wrestling with which way to go in cleaning my collection as I mainly buy used records. I'm ordering this unit soon !! Thank you ! 🤘
@@CelticBluesDude I think you will be very happy with it
Good video on the vinyl flat which I also have and also I just order the record pi flattener to check it out and see how it works keep up the good work.
If only you showed the back cover as well..😊
Great video friend! I like of Megadeth, Hugs!!!!!
THanks!
I made my own attachments, use the whole width of the tank and clean 5 at a time. Pre cleaning is wise. I use distilled/isopropyl/tergitol and turn at 1rpm for 15 minutes. Fan dry. Cavitation bubbles have a diameter of about a MICRON. People who insist eg Spin Clean pads can compete at getting in the grooves are cheating themselves (as I used to).
Very nice
You don’t rinse with clean distilled water?
yes, in the spin clean
99% of songs live are trash. Which is why i dont even bother anymore. That however would never make me not listen to an album the way it was made to be heard. And that is the recorded versions. But to each their own i guess. I think Phil Collins in the air tonight live on youtube is the only thing i have seen that i have ever liked live.
My top 10 grunge bands in no order: Downface Chout Yellow 5 Rainbow Butt Monkys - (Finger Eleven) Superheaven Send no flowers Nirvana Alice in chains Drain Sth Sponge
Wowza, that difference is crazy
I think so
History of bands/albums. Current/upcoming releases or information. Album reviews. Concert reviews. YOUR opinions on a band or album or anything related. I like free form conversations with the host and other people.
The short answer no. The long answer is nope
To each their own
GNR and Bon Jovi did not share the same audience!
I know tons of people who were fans of both bands and still are today. All my friends listened to both bands growing up.
I went to relistened to all of the albums, going by the songs I like on each album percentages, this is my personal list: 1. Powerage 2. Back in Black 3. Let There Be Rock 4. Black Ice 5. Highway to Hell 6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 7. Ballbreaker 8. Power Up 9. High Voltage 10. Stiff Upper Lip 11. Flick of the Switch 12. Blow up Your Video 13. For Those About to Rock 14. Fly on the Wall 15. Rock or Bust 16. The Razors Edge
Very nice!
I like how you spread out the different eras
Thanks
i regretfully bought one of these. it didn’t improve the warp. very disappointed. tried numerous heat levels and durations. the warp was localized to approx 20 deg of circumference whereas the example here the warp looks less severe over 1/2 the circumference. so maybe not good for localized warp?
Is it more of a crease than a warp? If there is any sort of creasing it is very hard to get those out. Lips warps as well are near impossible to get out. But anything where the warp is smooth the vinyl flat fixes very nicely.
@@BriansVinylRecords no it’s not a crease, but the warp is 1/2 inch in amplitude over very localized area. finally gave up.
I like to spin clean mine then to the ultrasonic.
That’s a good method too. All my albums were cleaned via spin clean before I got this unit, so they had been double cleaned in a sense.
In 1980 could Billy Squire have replaced Bon Scott❓️
I’m not sure his vocal style would really work… plus he writes and has control that he would have had to give up to the Youngs
I have not read through all the comments so sorry if someone already posted this. I came along the journey of cleaning records much like you and many people. Spin clean to vacuum and now ultrasonic actually the same unit you have. What I have found over watching many hundreds of record cleaning videos is a combination of all 3 is the best. I have a lazy susan that I use to apply a cleaning solution to the record and use a goat hair brush to scrub both sides of the the record. From there into the ultra sonic. Once the records come out of the ultra sonic you do not want the surfactant and whatever else drying on the records. I take mine right off the ultra sonic into a spin clean for a distilled water rinse and then onto my home made or in your case the vinyl vac to remove the excess water. Wa-La! Great video love your room much like my own and I see we have the same 2021 RSD poster! Rock on!
That’s awesome. Glad you found a solid cleaning method. It takes a lot of testing and trying new things to get it where it works the way you want it too. Sounds like you figured out a great way.
I use a generic ultrasonic kit for like 100$ on Amazon because the price includes delivery.. EBAY may be cheaper but the delivery is another 50$ ... so .. your choice.. HummingGuru is fine if you can or want to really spend the bucks.. also.. I do ONE album at a time.. on my multi album.. for 10 min.. more than enough time.. now the part most go crazy.. I use 99% alchohol for electronics comes in a spray can.. spray it on wipe it off.. takes off any oils, residues(if your home has gas heating or stove you will have lots of residues that f;s up everything) .. then give it a Ultrasonic bath with all the same stuff.. and let it work.. you will have a 90% clean.. the pops and crackles left will be very hard to get off.. also.. warm water makes a big difference.. I tried with and without warming the water.. and the warm clean is best but BE CAREFULL do not go above 50 celcius.
Sounds like this method works great for you. I don’t see an issue with the 99% alcohol. I do four at a time and it works great. 10 minutes for one sounds about right. Rock on!
After cleaning about 10 to 12 lps, there is noticeable debris in the bottom of the us cleaner tank and the water is slightly murky. I pre clean all lps before I us clean them, and none look very dirty before I start. So, yeah, us cleaning is very worthwhile.
Rock on man.
SO, I paused you for a bathroom break, and I came back to my 20 lb. fat cat standing on top of EXCILE ON MAIN STREET Album..it looks okay..but I have 3 more albums that melted on a hot weather move..Lucky for the cat..The Stones are good!!😻
Phew, glad Exile is ok. Great album
I'm sorry you had such a cold RSD. Congrats on your finds. The Collective Soul album looks cool. Take care.
When you live in Minnesota, it’s almost a given it will be cold for RSD. April is the transition month from winter to spring, so temps are hit or miss. November is always cold. I preferred the June dates they ran over COVID. The Collective Soul album is awesome. Craft did a great job. Thanks for watching and commenting Melinda. I appreciate it. Rock on!
Hey Brian! Nice to see you back on here. Cool pickups.
Hey Emma! Thanks. I’m trying to figure out what to do with my channel. What direction to go. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
I passed on Dosage and now I’m kicking myself. I had recently picked up their 7 Year Itch greatest hits. I completely missed that Eric Church release altogether. You’ll have to let me know how it is. Great haul, Brian!
The good news is Dosage will be getting a wider release later this year, so you should be able to get it eventually. Craft did a great job with it. I missed the Cranberries and Delores albums. Rock on David.
The PM Dawn looks great.
I listened to it yesterday and it sounds fantastic. Great album.
Can Brian Johnson sing the Blues?
He sure can.
The question for me, is there a difference between a good manual cleaning, and an ultrasonic cleaning?
In my opinion, there is a massive difference between Ultrasonic and manual. Ultrasonic shoots sound waves and water bubbles into the grooves to force out the dirt and grime that a manual wash won't get.
Can I ask you question on AC/DC Back in Black Japanese record? When lyric sheet is close, does front show almost like white boarder line off rear page? I appreciate your help. Thanks alot.
I do not have a white border on my lyric sheet.
I'm not quite sure I follow how this gizmo works. Why is the pouch required? Does it heat the vinyl?
The pouch is not required. If you don’t have it you can use your oven. I didn’t want to do that, so I bought the pouch instead.
vinyl just cracks, back in the eighties we didnt bother , we never cleaned records, maby just some glass cleaner and a soft cloth when it skipped, even microfiber cloths didnt exist back then. i took my records to every newwave and punk party, they where coverd in smoke, beer dust and fingerprints, .i still have those records, they crack , so what, . i also never use cover protectors, i love an old worn cover, that proves the record has been loved and lived and not stored in someones living room as a collectors item . some guys are spending more time cleaning there records than actualy listen to them. in the vinyl period there was nobody using an ultrasonic cleaner, NOBODY. All i do is spray some alcohol diluted with water and a few drops of dishsoap in it and wipe it dry with a microfiber. and play them loud ! cleaning is for the cleaning lady. by the way, i have an ultrasonic cleaner, in fact i have two. i use them profecional for degreasing polished jewelry, before the ultrasonic cleaner we cooked the jewelry in soda . but i will never put a record in a ultrasonic , waste of time,,,,, and money if you just buy a profecional ultrasonic cleaner just for cleaning your records. the dirt on a record is not that harsh that u need it to put in an ultrason. u just dont need it!
To each their own I guess. I prefer to clean them and get the gunk out and make them sound as good as possible. I do like the crackles from time to time as long as it doesn’t overpower the music.
I love Nearvana and Steve Albyeknee
I’m not familiar with them.
Have you seen the new re-releases? The blue swirl sUBHUMAN rACE version - you can get them all individually now.. Cheers!
I figured eventually they would put them out individually. I’m glad.
Are Ultrasonic Cleaners worth the Hype? Almost 5000 records later proves that it makes a difference. I have the Spin clean and it works ok but try cleaning that many records with a Spin Clean vs 8 records at a time on my Vevor...
Heck yeah!
After 3 years of using the VINYL FLAT, you still having success flattening records? I just got one and am testing with a warped record now.
I don't have as many warped records as I did, but when I have had to use the vinyl flat it works perfectly.
Thank you for taking the time to put this out man
my pleasure
grew up on nirvana, older brother/car radio tapes, dont listen to them often these days but when i do its still good, never was much a fan of in utero, like heart shaped box but only the video, scentless a. and serve the s. are the only tracks i listen to, for me bleach and also incesticide are best, nevermind is great too but style wise already diffrent, songs like hairspray queen etc will be forever what nirvana is to me
I need to give Incesticide another try. I never cared for it when it came out. Haven't listened in years.
Is this a rare one to get hold of?
I don’t think so. I think it’s still out there in stores
Pronounced (Al Beanie), like the winter hat.
Yep, I have been told numerous times :)
Personally I don't think so. I found that it's best to just clean one LP at a time, doing multiple records at a time results in the records themselves acting as baffles restricting the sound waves. Also I had to run it meant times, like 4-5 hours to get any improvement.🤔
There is plenty of space between each album for the bubbles from the ultrasonic sound to get into the grooves of each one. Based on the sound difference between what the spin clean did and what the ultra sonic did, I’ll stick with the ultra sonic.
@@BriansVinylRecords Sound waves will struggle to be effective in between layered records.
No Enuff Z Nuff Strength?
I never really knew of them until recently.
