    5:28 - make sure to cover the front of the nesting area with a metal mesh that’s big enough for the bees to get through but not big enough for birds. If you don’t birds will eat the cocoons.

  • @eastcoast4233
    @eastcoast4233 2 місяці тому

    ‼️Remember that mason bees and leaf cutter bees use the same nesting sites but aren’t hatching and active at the same time each year! Do NOT wash the cocoons of leaf cutter bees as they are not waterproof, unlike the mason bee cocoons.

    I wish when people talk about this plant they knew what they are talki g about. They always show the road side plant. That is not the teasel used for carding. The type used for carding has hooked spines. Not the straight spines on the roadside plants.

    It is an invasive plant that smoothers out native desired plants. DO NOT PLANT! REMOVE ALL PLANTS AND SOIL. CHECK FOR CORMS. DESPOSE OF PLANT, SOIL, AND ANY CROMS IN GARBAGE. DO NOT COMPOST.

    Is that pond you're on ephemeral? Are there species of fairy shrimp that persist all year long in stable waters? Or do they go "dormant" during the warmer seasons?

      @@jeremybear573 Well you know the teachers had a habit over over complicating everything, dragging in on and never explaining it well. I know they didn't have visual learning like this and only a black board and some chalk but my goodness I struggled with it. It probably didn't help daydreaming in the class because I just wanted to be at home watching Rambo First Blood part 2 1985 and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Commando 1985
