I Cycled on the Ethiopian Motorway to Avoid Deadly Guerilla Fighters
EP.03 After battling through thunderstorms, brutal hills, traffic chaos and dangerous regions, I had to make an alternative plan to stay safe. I'm on a mission to journey entirely by human-power from the lowest point in Africa to the highest: Lac Assal, Djibouti (-160m), to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (5895m).

Have fun!
Doing this 2moro. On my own. Not sure wether to take this route or the Seathwaite route 🤔
Hoping to walk this soon, really helpful video 👌🏼
Your content really good ,But your channel growth are very poor. Already I have seen many lacking's like no proper SEO, Description, Title, optimization . That's why you didn't get expected video views. Your video SEO Score 33.3 out of 100.
Why? ...just why?
I know I’m a year late but really enjoyed the video man! Don’t know how close you are to 2k subs but I’m subscribed to get you that little closer!
Wow! awesome Adventure my friend!! This is my interest if I could do it like yours to see this awesome, wonderful places!
Awesome Video!!!
Thanks to visit us. Keep going!!
ive been wanting to climb scafell pike for a few years now but kept missing the chance to health reasons and now seems to be the perfect time to climb it
Very interesting. Thanks for the clear explanation.
This trip is so inspiring.
No I would not because that’s illegal
Kurdistan is not iraq
Kurdistan ❤️☀️💚
I was looking to do this challenge and was worried, esp about the last hill. You've shown me yes. it's a good old hill but not impossible ❤
Excellent video, thanks
Your channel deserves way more views, theres some excellent content. I managed to take a few wrong turns on sca fell due to fog but figured if I kept going up I'd find it
The wild lava lake 😮😮
There is no Alshabaab in the Somali region of Ethiopia. 😅😅
Stop capping Ethiopia 🇪🇹 don’t control 90% of region except some view cities and towns countryside is unacceptable to non somali.
😂😂😂😂 for viewers deee
Excellent video 🎉 Very informative
Wow beautiful place, I must to go see magestic Gorillas ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hey Oli! Thanks for this video really good tips! I’ve done many a mountain in Europe and I feel like Kili would be the next natural progression - for a UK climber what would you say the total costing of the expedition would be?
I’m planning to go end of March - Rainy season - what to do you suggest ?!
I did this last year & it was the loudest, coldest, & dirties adventure I have ever had.
Haha, once is enough!
Love your positive vibe mate. I can tell you kept everyone's spirits up
Great show reel, Oli
Thank you Lindsey!
Can you get to the summit with a car? And how long it takes? Also i wanted to ask if theres any restoraunt at the top? :) thank you
Your a good guy🌹
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this content to show our island and its natural beauty to the world and for people to come to visit it❤❤
A sign in Italy: Dear friend, if you have the power to carry your cans uphill full, than please have the power to carry them down empty. Grazie
Story good but music bad
Thank you!
I’m climbing end of month… very helpful!
Thank you - Best of luck and enjoy the climb!
I really enjoyed your storytelling and thanks for sharing this. When was this video shot? becuase I heard the volcano just erupted again, any advice, I plan to visit this place in February 2024.
Thank you David, much appreciated. This was shot in November 2017. The region is of course very volatile for many reasons, including the volcano. I don't have any current information. But I'd recommend reaching and consulting with Virunga National Park directly. They'll have the most up to date info. Hope this helps! Incredible place
@@Oli_France many thanks
This was EXACTLY the kind of information I was looking for. Thank you. You've inspired me to try this now.
Brilliant, thank you. I can't recommend this challenge enough. Good luck and enjoy!
I was searching for more information about gorillas and accidentally met such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you - I appreciate it! Virunga is a very special place indeed
Great video. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Cavid
I’m suddenly really seriously wanting to do this
Do it! It's unforgettable
Another amazing video thanks Oli. I really appreciate the inspiration. The views are coming, just keep it up
Thank you Tim. Much appreciated!
Great video. My father is from Ethiopia, always nice to see positive exposure.
Thank you, I have some amazing memories from Ethiopia
Maybe you should meeet up with @Kino Yves
Interesting, I was in Uzbekistan 5 month ago. The situation was not nearly as bad for me as you described yours. I flew in through Samarkand and left through the land border to Kazakhstan. Though at the land border the guards tried to take our cash the country itself was very nice and welcoming. Didn't feel like the authorities were giving us a particular hard time for central asian standards. Though on that note I know the tajik border is a little more spicy regarding said drug trafficking(Similar to the Afghan border). Also they accepted Master Cards in every major city I was. Overall the situation under the new government seems to be considerably less tense..
Good to hear that you had an overall positive experience Max! I agree, having been back to Uzbekistan in the years since this, the country has definitely improved for the better. Despite this incident, I met so many amazing Uzbek people who could not have been more hospitable.
@@Oli_France Yeah I agree, the people there are great
Awesome video! 🤩👏👍🙌. I Really hope I don't get lost 🙏 😅
Thank you! It's a great route
Wow very high quality keep going never stop❤
Thank you!
Great video! These are really well done - you deserve far more subscribers. I suspect you’re fairly well adapted given your prior trips, but how do you get on with GI issues if you’re eating locally for the whole expedition?
Thank you! Much appreciated. I didn't have any stomach issues on this expedition, but was very selective about what I was eating. Being on a narrow time frame, I simply couldn't afford to be ill. I've certainly had my fair share of issues in the past. In the worst case, I ended up with shigella and meningitis after a trip to Somalia in 2019!
That does not sound fun! Glad you were able to stay healthy this trip.
where is this? is it nevis tower ridge?
