I have a 2017 yfz and it won’t idle do u know what the problem can b

@@omarstanley4922 what I just did was replace the battery and adjusted the throttle cable slightly and we’ll see how it goes

What 20 dollar block? If I get another YFZ450R, fixing it this way or with a 20 dollar fix is much preferred to a 1000 dollar ECU...

Just get the vortex. Just picked mine up on wY gone with it. Don't do this to a new quad

Get a gytr ais delete kit. That is supposed to fix the problem

We are in same situation, same bike, same year, bought brand new. Never had a single issue in 7 years. All the sudden not wanting to start, then when it starts you give gas and it dies... Did you ever get to the bottom of it and figure out the fix?

My used to do that, give it gas and it dies, it turned out to be a gasket, piston, and coil fix

Since doing the mod has your idle gotten higher?

It work for a bit now the problem is back. Yamaha dealer mechanic and manufacturer technician can't fixed the problem

My biggest issue was high hanging idle so I'm guessing it was a little lean on idle or low rpm range.

If you're thinking about buying a 450 in addition to the 700, I say absolutely go for it! It's definitely more stable in high speed corners or doing donuts, and the high revving engine is lots of fun. I would rather have the 450 for high-speed fire roads or mx-style stuff, maybe even sand dunes for the stability sideways on hills. But if you're thinking about replacing the 700, I would be hesitant. Now that I have owned both, the Raptor 700 is just a better all-around machine than the 450 is for most of the riding I do. It will keep up with any 450 in the fast stuff just fine, but is much easier to ride when the trail gets slow. If there are obstacles on a trail that you have to crawl over, or you have to start from a stop on a steep hill, or if the trail is rough/rocky or filled with huge tree roots, the 700 really shines. The torque that only a bigger engine can give you down low is GREATLY appreciated in all of those situations, not to mention the plush suspension on the 700 won't beat you up like the 450 does, having reverse is quite nice, and the maintenance will be cheaper due to the valve setup.

The problem I fixed in this video is the only problem I ever had with the quad, other than the suspension being too stiff for my bad back

Everytime I felt like going out for a ride I ended up grabbing the keys to my quad so I could get slidey and have more fun and the bike just kinda sat in the garage gathering dust, so I sold it. I may venture back into a dirt bike eventually though, and will probably be another KLX140G if I can find one cheap

braapmasterflex I totally get it. I’m loving my KLX, but there are days I just want to rip and drift and do donuts and the dirt bike doesn’t fill that need.

Sorry, I've since traded out my 450 for a Raptor 700 since I've been riding slow pace rough trails more than high speed slidey stuff lately

How is that reader adjusting that ...

no problem! I ride tight technical trails most of the time, so I also ended up going down a tooth on the front sprocket and that combined with this fix has made it a joy to ride!

I tried to sit on one at the dealer when I picked this up, most dirt bikes are just too tall for me, almost fell over when I got on it

put a exhaust and optimizer on yours i put the hmf pipe and fuel controller on mine and the bike just lifts so much power and it fixed 90% of the bog

Maybe if I had extensive mods a 700 dollar ECU would make sense to tune it how I want, but if you've just bought a brand new quad and just want to get out and ride it without it flaming out constantly without spending another grand on a new ECU before you can ride it this makes way more sense.

It will cost more then 700 once you cook your system trying to adjust fuel and air and rec limiter. That's why idle changes so high just do it right and be done
