It's wonderful that UA-cam has all these Live performances by the Doors. Your greatest American band. Hendrix is also an icon but the British adopted him and he made it first there. The Doors and Jimi performed at the Isle of Wight Rock festival. Can you imagine the World then !!! ❤❤❤,☮️🌹🌹✍️

I was @ that concert & disappointed; Jim so drunk he could hardly stand. He had a case of Budweiser on Ray's organ & would chug one between songs. I was thinking: 'BUDWEISER, really? Yr. a ROCK STAR, for Pete's sake!'🤔🤨🙄

Way to Los Angeles plastic and stale for Detroit. I appreciate the hearing the band perform at such a high level. This record would actually be really cool as an instrumental. Jim was bored and not into it and clearly being a smart ass. You guys should release this as an instrumental and it would be badass.

I'm from southwest Detroit, vernor and lawndale. I think The Doors are the best to me. It's weird to say but you guys really missed the mark that night. You knew it was going to be a recording so wanted to make it palatable to a wide audience. Detroit is gritty and punk and subversive. The band got caught in this show being way too sterile and scrubbed and cute and polished. You pulled out a lot of bluesy stuff that would've worked and went over well if it wasn't so contrived. This show ends up feeling contrived and lazy and not having any connection or awareness of how serious the Detroit music scene is, was and what it be like. Should've just kept it raw and nasty and real man.

Sorry but the date is wrong. I was there on the sixth. They played all night until dawn, alternating with Jefferson Airplane. Nobody cared much about the Doors, as Jim was dismissed as a junkie. They played Light My Fire twice. Jim was obviously pissed off the second time when it became clear that's what the audience expected. He tried to tell his poetry and no one cared. Unfortunately, there is no record of that epic night. The rumor spread like wildfire that it had been an incredible show, way better than anticipated and on September 7th, cameras were there. The stage had to be protected by a barricade. They played a long version of Light My Fire. That second night has been well documented.
