I once owned a 70 Challenger convertible 318. This car had a skid plate on the k frame. The K frame was original to the car I believe. I'm guessing they grabbed what they had available on the assembly line. Maybe because the car was a convertible and had the torque boxes etc.

He's asking numbers matching full restoration dollars for this mess at 65k. The "restoration" effort is the best example of putting lipstick on a pig I have ever seen. He should have left it as is and sold at a fair price. I cannot believe he slapped a bad paint job on a 35K car and thinks it raises the value to 65K just because of the V code. Plus, it's FILTHY. There's primer all over the underbody, the radiator supports are half black, the carb is very dirty, the fender tag looks too crisp to be original and doesn't have an inspection mark, which brings all the options into question, the dash is puking it's guts out, honestly all the wiring is suspect, the carpet needs replaced, lots of issues starting in the wheel wells when viewed from the trunk, and that's just what I can see from the video. I would be wary of this car at 35K.

If you want it to look original you need my kit. If you don't care then buy any aftermarket kits. You can see one I did on my website at www.plymouthcuda.com. notice the factory wrinkles in the bracing. Other Aftermarket kits do not have that. I had to make my own mold. Then you need to weld it in to show spot welds like factory.

This Chevy guy will go to bed less stupid tonight. Thanks for the explanation but it would have been nice to see a shaker hood as well. What happens to the underside bracing when someone cuts a shaker hole and and installs the outside trim ring on one of those hoods from 72 - 74? Do they need to find a 70 - 71 flat hood?

The so called warranty replacement are people swapping motors in the 80's after they blew it..Not warranty replacement.. My Uncle owned a Chrysler dealer from 1950-late 90's...I think we know as we are into Mopar cars...Guys use the b.s warranty replacement as the engine is a 73 340 with numbers removed trying to pass as an original 340 6bbl...that is what it is! In the 80's we drove these and they had 150,000 miles and we blew the engines, swapped a good running 340 from a 73 added a cam/heads and 6bbl and away we went! People were not into numbers back then as they are now.

If everything is equal on length on ends, then shouldn't really matter. Just make sure you use the correct left and right labeled bars for the corresponding side of vehicle.
