Yes, at least at the time we went, bottled water was provided in the mini fridge and throughout the resort. Pool and beachside service are available for Royal Level guests. Enjoy your vacation!

Taxis and Ubers are easy to get on that coast of Mexico, even at the airport. The bellboys called taxis for us, and all rides were fairly priced. Enjoy your vacation ♡

@jodls2358 When we went, the weather was hot, so we weren't able to tell if the pools were heated. It's a new resort in Uvero Alto, where it's usually cooler than Bavaro, so I'm guessing the pool would have the capability of being heated. Wish I could be a bigger help!

In case the liquor isn't great, we make a habit of picking up a bottle or 2 from duty free when we land. In this resort's case, it came in clutch! Still a good resort though. Have a great trip!

@pushap137 I'm jealous! The beach is s t u n n i n g, the dominican fried chicken is so good! For tequila, they had Jose Cuervo, we spotted a nicer brand 1x, but they also have a couple local tequila brands

Hi - the room numbers at this resort are all over the place because they recently combined Catalonia Punta Cana and Catalonia Bavaro. I can't 100% confirm, but I believe our room was 0605. However, I am sure that all first floor rooms in our building began with 06. If you're hoping to pre-request a room before arrival, I'll share that we tried to contact them/the hotel in advance repeatedly with no success.

Hi - The rooms translate better in photos/videos than they actually are in-person. They're not bad, but I've stayed at a few Catalonias, and the Privilege rooms here, have been my least liked. Again, they're fine. Secondly, I live in a fairly new apartment in Manhattan & am a true NY-er to the core, so perhaps I'm picky. 🙃 Enjoy your vacation!

Great question. There are hours depending on the season, essentially morning til after sunset. However, a couple folks took a quiet dip and weren't asked to get out.

Coral Level is essentially the VIP section of Iberostar Selection Suites and Coral Level guests have access to the other Iberostar resorts on the complex besides Iberostar Grand. Iberostar Grand is the "ultra premium" resort on the Iberostar complex and has no reciprocal to the entire complex. Glad to help and enjoy your travels

Haha I love your eye for detail! Upon arrival, there was a champagne bottle in the room along with fruits as a welcome gift. Then, concierge came by with a bottle of red wine and another welcome gift, small desserts & chocolate covered strawberries. I know that some guests received red wine & a small bottle of tequila. We received champagne & red wine. (The other bottles in this video are from a previous resort - I know, we committed alcohol sin by not consuming enough lol.) I'm sure if you want an additional bottle, they'll be happy to provide. Enjoy your vacation! Don't forget swim shoes. 😊

Great question! There are hours posted, I can't recall the exact time, I believe it was 7pm. However, as long as you're not loud/playing music/doing anything seemingly dangerous or disruptive to other guests, they'll let you do laps, float, chill in the pool past that time. I'm jealous you're going here. This property punches above its weight class for sure! Enjoy & safe travels

The beach was great, especially for Uvero Alto. Waves were fun & from U.S. fall to late spring, there should be very little seaweed, if any at all. Another thing is, the food is very good for an all-inclusive!

When the seas are rough, the beach is not good. When it's calm for a week, the beach is clearer. But, yes, definitely the food is very good for an all-inclusive!

There are several adults-only resorts in the Dominican Republic. I'd say there's a "best" for every budget. For a mid-range budget adults-only, TRS resorts in DR are awesome. In the La Romana area, there are only a few resorts and among the best is this one, Catalonia Royal. There's also Hilton La Romana with an adults-only side. Dreams La Romana (next door to Catalonia) is not adults-only but it's also great! Re: the pool, as a Catalonia Royal guest, you get access to the pools at the family side of Catalonia, so you have options for pool side lounging. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Unfortunately, yes, that's a weird thing to me. I recently heard that wiifi is still $60 per week.

There is an adults-only pool (tucked towards the back of the resort) but the rule isn't enforced because there are family rooms nearby, it's more a quiet pool. Truly a great property overall. Yes, Dreams guests could utilize Sunscape & Secrets as if those resorts were part of Dreams - full access (restaurants, pools, activities, even any preferred club areas, etc). Good to remember is that Secrets is adults-only, so if you're traveling with kids below 18, they'd either have to do their own thing or go over to the kids club while you're on the Secrets property

@CLCUADRA505 Because of the somewhat poor buffet food quality, I'm so-so about Dreams. It's definitely one of the best in Cozumel but only so-so for the Riviera Maya. Are you going with children or adults only? If you share approximate dates, I'd be glad to point you to the best bang for the buck!

@CLCUADRA505 Costa Mujeres definitely has the best stretch of beach in the Riviera Maya (at least currently). To be in the middle of all the action & a huge bang for the buck - Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen, for a semi luxe experience without the price tag (but only only if you're ok with a so-so beach) - Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun, for a great value in Cancun - GR Solaris Cancun, hidden gems: Catalonia Tulum, Dreams Tulum, Dreams Aventura, Privilege at Ocean Maya or Ocean Riviera Paradise, Grand Catalonia Costa Mujeres is also great but man there are so many group trips there - if you're okay with that, go for it! Booking tip: if you choose a Playa Resort, Catalonia or Ocean Resort, book directly on the hotel website after checking the promos tab - almost always the best pricing & most flexible payment terms. a junior suite swim up could be on the adults side or family side. if everyone in your party is above 18yrs old, you'll very like end up in the adults side. to guarantee that you'll get a room on the adults side, go for an excellence club room. however, it's a pretty tame resort, so even the family side isn't too noisy. we had a great time here and hope you do too. enjoy your trip!

The AC in the rooms work well. In the indoor restaurants there's also AC. The beachside restaurants are open air, therefore no AC.

Absolutely recommend for families of varying ages who are looking for a more pampered, evenly-paced vacation with good resort food! There are shows & varying activites at night, sports bar comes alive, fiestas, courtyard shows. There is something for everyone here. It's a premium family experience & it's well-priced for everything offered & the quality of service. I'd even say that Finest beats out Dreams when it comes to a more luxe family vibe. If you want an activity-packed family vacation, I'd recommend Barcelo Premium Level Rooms or TRS at Grand Palladium (18+ resort with club level amenities and non reciprocal access to the entire Grand Palladium complex). Though Barcelo and Grand Palladium will not have as delicious of food but still good for all inclusive standards. Enjoy your vacation!

The water is clear and has little to no seaweed. A heads up that there are small fish. I'm sharing that detail because that won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Actually, pretty good! Main building bar with its outdoor extension and the sports bar is where everyone gathers. They do a great job with special activities that lead into the late evening/night.

This was in the fall. The beach was pristine! From May until the fall, the seaweed does get unpredictable here but you could always enjoy the huge pools! For no seaweed year round, at a comparable price, Catalonia Royal La Romana. It's about an hour from PUJ but the beach is well worth the extra 20 minutes.
