Noisy Nights ad lib (Jody Fisher/John Adsett)
While aiming to eventually play the musical score along with recorded chords of this song "Noisy Nights" by Jody Fisher in his Beginning Jazz manual, I decided to play some ad lib melody for now. I hope soon to make another video with the musical score on top of the recorded rhythm. The song is in Eb major.

This is one of the practice songs in Jody Fisher's "Beginning Jazz Guitar" manual. It is not very jazzy but is a good practice song. It is in the key of D major, and starts with D major 7th, and uses all of the diatonic chords in that key except the number 7 chord which is "C# minor 7th flat 5", or also called "C# half diminished". We moved to a little farm / acreage in East Central Alberta in April 2022. The area is interesting in many ways, particularly the hard working farming and ranching families, most of whom are living and working on land settled by their ancestors not that long ago ... around 1900. Back in 2005 - 2007, I was part of a band called Dynamite, if you can imagine that, and the few concerts we staged were called Explosions. Julia was our lead singer, Robin was bass player, David electric guitar, James sax and clarinet, and Rick was the drummer. I wrote this song for Rick. And yes, he did "let Him in".

Awesome sir, I'm going to show this to my 14 year old who is enjoying learning to play guitar. He has got this song down fairly well now but he isn't confident enough to sing.
