Thank you. That book was a really important milestone in my spiritual journey as well. I still re-read parts or the whole of it fairly regularly. Butterworth was a powerful exponent of Truth teachings in both the written and spoken word.

Thank you for your long insightful comment. Dr Peale was a conservative evangelical who generally eschewed the language of evangelical Christianity. He used many New Thought terms, which angers and alienates some Christians, but having met the man, and read all his books, I have no doubt that he was a real Christian who loved God, Jesus and humanity. All the very best to you!

(I, for one, do.) Perhaps you have described your meeting somewhere on the Web, or will at some future point be describing it?

Healing is not always physical. Sometimes, for various reasons, physical healing is not possible or feasible. Healing on the mental and spiritual planes is perhaps of greater importance. We all need the latter. All the very best!

That's a good way of looking at it. Our twelve powers are within us all, not just one person. I find it helpful to focus each day on the ONE Power and Presence that animates and sustains all things. Call it God, Omnipresence, Truth, Love, Life ... it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that we live in and through that Presence. All the very best to you--and thanks for your comment.

It's a bit like the Devil supposedly inventing dinosaur bones to deceive us from our relationship with, or belief in, God. My fundamental belief in God as the Only Presence and Power active in the universe, and in your life and mine, precludes me from even entertaining such ideas. God is all there is. God is Omnipresence and Omnipotence. There is no room for any adverse power or presence. Keep well and thanks for your comment and interest in the subject matter.

Starr Daily. In the early 1900s Starr Daily was a hardened criminal, the kind of man who seemed destined to spend his life behind bars. Filled with hatred from the tender age of eight years old, Starr had already run afoul of the law repeatedly by the time he reached adolescence. Uncaring and calloused to the suffering of others, Daily admits that he "harmed thousands, many very brutally." Daily became a hardened criminal, and spent fourteen years in prisons and chain gangs, surviving the barbaric penal system of the early 20th century by the force of his hatred. Everyone, including Starr himself, believed that he was beyond rehabilitation and without hope in this world. The world may have given up on Starr Daily, and Starr may have given up on himself. Yet, while no person on earth found him worth saving, in a phenomenal manner, Starr met the Lord. The love of God changed Starr Daily; and as he learned to walk in that love, he changed his circumstances, the people around him, the prison institution, and the course of his life.
