Though the idea of employing female agents was initially contested many of these women proved to be invaluable to the war effort. A call to spy follows the contributions of two such women: Noor Khan and Virginia Hall though does the film do justice to their legacy?

Comfortable & loving environment?! Are you mad?!
What game is that song from? It’s going to bother me, because I know I heard it before.
The “sing-songy” voice is so distracting that I’m not finishing this. I appreciate the scholarship but it sounds as if the reader doesn’t know how English is spoken.
She’s right Wolfwalkers is the best i’m going to keep watching it.
Very interesting! I like that you bring up how we'll never truly know what his intentions were with the sonnets, or if they were even written from his perspective. Theorizing and picking apart each line of his poems really is a part of the fun
One interesting thing I noticed was how they actually combined two mythologies in one with the Thunder Bird, as in yes, the Thunder Bird is based on the Native American creature, but he also mentioned in the episode that after perching on the shoulder of the statue of the god the people worshipped (who looks a lot like Odin from Norse mythology), they thought he was that god's messenger...which is a reference to Odin's raven messengers Huginn and Muninn.
This series is very precious to me, and I really think it deserves way more attention than it's given. So, thank you for this tribute to it.
This is awesome! Thank you 🫶🏻
There is no inconsistency with her preserving animals - especially bugs, or with her butchering pigs. That doesn't mean she didn't love animals. She wasn't like the modern day animal rights activists. You can love animals and still understand that we do eat some of them. Its part of life.
Inaccuracy of the film. The Bayonet Constitution was in 1887, not 1888.
even histeria! is better and sometimes they arent fully accurate either
time squad better than this shit
I didn't know either until I can across a podcast talking about the mythological creature after watching the show. The Owl House team came up with a kikimora that fit the bill while also being "kid-friendly". :) (Btw, Eda is also based off of another character from Slavic folklore: Baba Yaga.)
kikimora is a kikimora
Childhood Favourite! I watch this Every Year, with Hocus Pocus❣️
...i love kikimora, i like both versions
No I didn't know thanks though!!
It is funny. I never really learned about rockets or anything like that. However, I was trained on finding explosive devices and what kind of homemade explosives were being used on said devices and how they worked etc. Which was kind of strange because I was just a grunt and had nothing to do with eod or any history with explosives, but hey, when you are voluntold by the army to do something you don't have much of a choice. I got a kick out of how much I understood and was able to explain certain things to people while watching the movie.
The voice over is very “unique.”
💔
I've watched this only once, many years ago, and it has never left me. Such a tragic story.
Stop narrating, lady! Hoongka moongka?? Get out.
Was Burtons need to make Stamp look like a bad ass a reaction to his Star Wars: Episode 1 character (Chancellor Valorum) not being very bad ass? Because once a guy plays General Zod , it's difficult to understand the compulsion to make him look bad ass.
RW:surprisingly i remember owning this film and remembering it all too well though it kinda felt like GOOSEBUMPS but there were times that it was peaceful in the film
You don't know how much this makes me and my Hilda hyperfixation happy
The animations are really fun :)
Great video! After watching your little witch academia video it’d be amazing to see you cover the anime dungeon meshi as it has a lot of mythological references hidden within
That is literally the next video I am releasing. Should be out in a couple of days.
@@silverjadearianrhod1696 talk about a coincidence! I’ll be tuning in for sure tho
Thank you! Although I absolutely adore the movie Miss Potter, I learned of its many inaccuracies after reading about Beatrix Potter's life. The movie is highly romanticized, and a lot of what's in it simply doesn't reflect what actually happened, in terms of HOW it happened. The devil is in the details, as they say. Still, even after learning in greater depth how Beatrix's life actually unfolded, I confess that I still adore the movie.
this video is enlightning the film is impressive artistically but does a less impressive job in the dialogue unfortunately until the end of the film there wasn't enough information about the book of kells to convince me of why was it so important ...after that i thought the book must be a symbol of the art and the spiritual part of human beings in contrast to the uncle's rigid and purely practical thinking. i personally prefer song of the sea that i watched before but both are mesmerizing films. next is wolfwalkers !!
"Margaret didn't like being single" They both remarried. Also, many womenn leave mentaIIy long before they actually leave, which is one reason menn are always so surprised. Unfair statement directed towards ONLY Margaret.
I like your narration!
Thank you for this video, I was looking to learn more about the book of Kells. I just watched the movie. I felt it was missing the aspect of religion, the explanation of the book's meaning. I really enjoyed still, the visuals were so esthetic and pleasing. I recommend it 😍
Underrated video ⁉️
I thought it's only me who cannot understand what you're saying😂😂😂 what language is this?😂
This video deserves more views
Whiny, sing-songy voice.
Is the narrator voice in this video a fake/AI voice? Such an odd, unnatural, speaking style almost doesn’t sound sound human. If this is a real person, note to the speaker or special request. Please humanize and add some warmth to your speaking voice here, just drones on in such a predictable manner that it was allowing me to sleep, and not in a really nice way.
Billy Rose is my uncle. According to him, Roy Lee's movie stepfather was actually a portrayal of my grandfather, Arnie B Rose, who was in fact an abusive drunk.
A porcupine? you mean a hedgehog. They don't reside in the USA, but you could find the info in her stories...
This was interesting
Quick question:- where do the terms 'puddleduck', 'cottontail', etc originate? You'll find that her 'genius' was in plagiarising folktales from the Black slave experience in the old American South. Has this been publicly acknowledged and credited by the Potter society and avid readers.
Bad Sound.
Well good for her!
well researched video very good -- ---- if interested her house is definetely worth a visit its a lovely area (looked after by national trust heritage charity) also her london family house site ... she was unusual both writing and illustrating dissecting animals herself so as to understand the biology anatomy an exceptional savvy business women in an age when men dominated one of the founding patrons of englands largest heritage charity one of the first in the world to understand merchandising of her characters farmer and landowner and took an active interest ........ her biography is worth reading various exist ....... some details are changed but the film was done with sensitivity ... tick this video ..... London - The address of Potter's house was 2 Bolton Gardens. From Londonist: She was born here and "Beatrix lived in the house until her marriage in 1913. The Potter family sold the house in 1924, and it was later destroyed in the WW2 Blitz bombing." It is now a private young children school ..... but not far from south kensington station.
Hilda! 💙😁
Iwish you well, however your presentation is flat😮
Cool video. Randomly popped up on my feed. Glad it did!
This was a great analysis of the book to the movie. Personally I didn’t like the film since the ending was politically motivated (only showing the kkk stuff and not the BLM riots). Not a big fan of Spike Lee films anyways
great video ! really informative :)
I used to be obsessed with japanese folklore and mythology. this video was really interesting!! I thing the cat being a bakku nokai (sorry about my spelling) of the beldam is very lieky and makes sense with its interactions and how it behaves. and i like the different ways the yokai traits were given to the beldam
