Cairn Creek
United States
Приєднався 22 січ 2020
Cairn Creek is our private 140 acre property in Southern Ohio where we have a mixture of woods, pastures and creeks. We have several pieces of equipment that we operate to continually improve our future homestead. Our most useful machine is the Woodmizer portable sawmill. Our goal is to entertain on UA-cam and gather a collection of memories for our family and friends.
Custom built cedar barn doors made from a trash electric pole.
Fired up our sawmill here at the farm to build these sliding barn doors on the horse barn. These are my wife’s 2024 Christmas gift.

Very nice. One bit of advice I would recommend is instead of dropping your dust chute on the LT35, just hang a 5 gallon bucket on the chute. Makes cleanup a ton easier, especially just millin a few logs.
Nice!
im not Getty a notice that you posted a video.youtub sucks.
Looking good birdie boy awesome job my friend
hi there good to see you again , great build , i cut and use those poles a lot , pretty wood , best to all john
Always a good day when Cairn Creek videos come out. Nice one Jeremy
Bark pocket maple is my favorite
Jesus Christ was a Jew and the Jews have kept the Sabbath for thousands of years Friday eve to Saturday eve and even longer as Hebrews Israelites and Judaens Jesus said that no one comes to the Father except through Me and Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Follow Jesus. Catholics follow the Pope and Mormons follow Joseph Smith Buddhists follow Buddha and on and on . Follow Jesus and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Flee your Sunday churches they will avail you nothing and seek a Seventh Day Adventist church near you and may the Holy Spirit guide you in your efforts. We keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. The papacy changed the day from Saturday to Sunday and they're really proud of themselves they say that it's their MARK of authority to change the laws of God. Jesus is coming back in a year and a half when the fig tree gets it's leaves so you don't have much time left. Choose now, God or man?
Definitely cairns. Clearing piles don't make sense given the grade he mentions as well as the sheer amount of them. The real question remains WHO built them? The current narrative defaults to 'Native Americans' but that's not always the case.
I planted a row of these along my orchard boundary to try and keep bears out. Didn't do that unfortunately but man they have thorns! I'm north of the border in BC and they grow here although I've had some die back on branches that didn't harden before winter. I've made some hammer handles off some of the branches I've pruned. Heavy and hard wood!
Chirimoya?
Yay! I had to go looking for you!
God blessed you with a strong back. I wouldn't want to rassle ya. Nice video!
Real men wear pink go coconut!!!
nice!
I’ll get the new mill shop finished up one of these days.
Power trial?
What about a power trowel?
I always enjoy the Cairn Creek content. Beautiful property!
Appreciate you!
Hell yeah we back!!!
Felt good to knock the dust off.
Happy birthday to Rondo!! And a very merry Christmas to you all at Carin Creek.

Merry Christmas!
Boy I thought this channel died
Nah. I love posting on the og channel, but it seems the new channel takes up most of my time anymore
been anxiously waiting on a mill shop update. looks awesome! i think i want to copy your's, for my mill shop.
I’ll get her the way I want it one of these days.
nice to see you again its been a while
Felt good to be back. Hoping to get 5-6 episodes out this winter.
Santa?
Wow. Man oh man I bet you feel lucky! And you are. Great video. You're not an idiot. We all make mistakes. Glad it didn’t get you hurt. What I do if I need to measure is advance the head past the end of the cant and then I have plenty of room to do it on the operator side of the machine
The cedar was definitely worth cutting, but I would never put them in the ground. Have you ever seen a split rail cedar fence? Looks good for about 15 yrs. Ever seen a cedar deck? Looks good for about 15 yrs. Going to be worse in the ground. I am a retired general contractor, cedar looks good but it does not last.
Looks great 👍 what are the dimensions of the pillars?
It's very pretty fresh cut but won't stay yellow turns an dark being with age
As soon as I saw those funky looking fruits, I knew it was Osage! Id be burning this for firewood for sure if it grew out in New England.
Thanks for making this video! We had a windstorm in August with 120 mph winds and were without power for 3 days. We had ordered a Generac in April and finally got it in October. Love your place and what cool idea - the one hole golf course ! Winderdome Resort!
Orange gold!
Osage is king!
Good job
I think what makes this tree really interesting, is how we know historically the native americans worked with it for many special projects they made. Such as their bows, and why many other tribes feared the southern tribes that had access to the Boi d arc trees in the south, they also used this tree for making their boats, and even their homes! Because they wood could be bent, it was perfect for their rounded topped curved quonset style shelters they built. As well as many other things. And of course, they did it ALL by hand! The cutting, shaping, you name it! And ANYONE who's ever cut one of these trees down, and chopped it for firewood or anything, without the use of thousands of dollars worth of expensive cutting tools, knows all to well how damn hard it is to cut these trees down by hand with an ax! And knowing that, gives me even that much more respect for how much the native americans used it... Great video..
Time 4:20... Trying to get through trees with that equipment is tricky. Believe it ir not, not sure if you have much experience with them, but a team of horses would pull those out effortlessly, as would a team of oxen. Many people today overlook the usefulness of those animals for this kind of work. And sure you have to care for animals at a daily expense, but the initial outlay financially is enough difference to care for those animals for a VERY long time.
Doesn't the dirt from storing logs like that on the ground dull the blades? Debarker?
No one I mean no one wants to throw good bags on concrete fucking boards
Yes, the Osage Orange is an interesting tree! I think I would put the Red Cedar tree up against it as an equal interesting tree. The color of the wood is exciting.the smell is fragrant and has properties that repeal bugs. It’s used in cedar chest for keeping moths at bay. The cedar berries are edible. If you haven’t cut a Red Cedar tree you have missed a joy! Friendly Farmer … Kansas
Hey great video! Which blocks are those by the way, I am wanting to complete some of my own?
I need some of those fruits. Do you sell them?
These are every where in north Arkansas. They will stop a small dozen dead in its tracks.
10 seconds into this video and I'm saying is that Jeremy from spud run? Yes it is. Heck yeah a new channel to watch. 👍
Been using , growing , sawing BL for years. Amazing stuff. FWI , most of the world grows BL on purpose. We pay farmers to grow corn and beans so we can have fat kids.
P you have a 140 acre campsite and you're going to choose down its lowest point for your family when you could have free-flowing no retainment law needed place to choose is just a waste of f****** money inherited spoiled brats
You have a 140 acre f****** campsite
It started out free with mother nature until you're spoiled brat ass started thinking and that's where it started to go in debt.
Nice creating the landscape that was naturally flowing to cause it to have to need a retaining wall Forest retaining wall like the inheritance of from the children that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground spend the money till it's all gone then you're going to cry I wish you had a brain or brain surgery holy crap what stupidity does for the inherited ones
Inheritance kids that's why prices get raised because of these spoiled brats
What a f****** waste of money that's what happens when you never work for it it is given to you from Mommy Daddy
Spoiled brat
Great video Junior
Another one of the oddball arrows in the fat quiver of numerous and wonderful hardwoods of North America with similar properties is black locust. Very very high btu when burned, very hard to mill, and the wood lasts in the ground decades. You look like you might be having too much fun!
