Those look so good, I'm glad they kept them to the exact same shape as the originals unlike some other models.
@@utterutternutter people could vent for forever on how we didn’t get true reissues. Because of that I have no interest in trying the Quattro, and that looked like a sick shoe back in the day. I just got a pair of black/gum 197 on sale and I only got them because as an éS fan I should skate at least one. Truth be told, I’m not a big fan of the Koston 1 as it is, I love the 298 though.
Keep tellin myself "okay, after this pair, im not gonna buy another pair " but here i am contemplating on buying these... To thing i used to be "i only need one pair" person lol 😂 its basically an addiction. At least i wear em! (Not poking at if you wear em or not. I personally only buy shoes if im gonna wear em)
yo, same. it started with a black/gum accel. then you watch Penny in the brown accel and you bite because it looks so dope. Then news of the Muska and Creager then the Koston reissues and I never got to skate any of them so it's a full on addiction. Next year, I'll be better....maybe.

i keep looking for the picture of muska skating this pair but i always end up with the picture where he sits at the bowl and you see the bottoms of these. amazing review on these puppies!

Did not know these were an og color, i know their was a black/yellow pair back in the day that Aaron Snyder wore alot in Fulfill the Dream. Exoshop has pairs and they are located in Quebec

The outsole on these “reissues” is terrible. Huge missed opportunity by not making them runner-style outsole like the original.
Yup really...reason why I didn't cop these is because of that reason...I dunno these look structured weakly...
Nah actually makes it look much better I understand not liking change but it actually looks like a skate shoe rather than a hiking shoe

JUST ordered a pair. My friend in middle school had these and I was super jealous. NEVER skated these because we couldn’t afford them. I would get my older brothers hammy downs for everything; boards, shoes, trucks etc.

@@carlosaltamirano2419 I was skating them yesterday and I really do enjoy them a lot. I’ll probably skate Muska’s or Creager’s or maybe the Tribo/Vireo next session.

You also have the black red white colorway dropping early 25 and the grey navy with yellow hits at the same time... Wish i could post a pic here of them... The navy white and the black red were my favorite colorwats i had of the K2 so I'm hyped for em...

I remember talking to CCS like 2 years ago and they wanted to make the bag then but they were having issues picking a manufacturer that would use quality materials but keep the price reasonable. I hope the new bag is as good as the old one
@@enjoy_the_board I'll let ya know how it is after I use it a bit. Surprising that there's not a lot of reviews on it either. The bag is about 70 bucks (free shipping as well) so that's not too bad in my opinion.

I love the new style
I have the black and red pair in size 9.5 & i skated them they fit perfectly. The blue pair is on sale in size 9 and would they fit me still?

CCS Catalog Spring 1998 with Koston on the cover. Doing a switch backside tailslide on a school picnic table. Was golden. This one has most of the same in it. It’s a little bit different. ✌️

Shortys recently reissued the Smolik dice deck and they still have the Smolik bandana decks available

@@victorperfecto7472 that should work, I’m a 9 in the fatter accel OG and an 8.5 in the newer version. Idk if for this season it’s just the Le Dome and Year of the Dragon accel OG that have the slimmer fit though.
Great review. I nearly ordered these but decided against it. I have a couple of pairs of white/red evants. I see the evant every time I see these.
@@cte same sole which skates great! I had the Asta Evant colorway; the 298 is a vastly different shoe, fits and feels way better on my foot. It skates better than the Evant IMO, and you get that “feeling yourself” vibe in the 298. There are more colorways coming later this year and early next year so def hop on those

I’ve bought 20+ pairs of eS shoes over the past 20 years. The quality and materials has taken a significant dive in recent years. I’ve been disappointed with most of the pairs I’ve bought in the past 5 years. Ive always loved eS. Sadly, not so much anymore. 😢

the all leather pairs i’ve had last longer but nothing skates as good as suede to me

Man i had two shortys boards when i was a teen back in 99/00 and i remember the tail feeling shorter than most decks that i skated. I got used to it but ill always remember the shortys shape
I like how they have a mellow concave and a medium kick. the nose and tail are kinda pointy compared to Flip and a couple other brands I like to skate.
Skateboarding peaked like 99-2004 everything was so sick nowadays they re issue the old fire graphics but do it no justice. They shrink it down and put it on a wood stain deck . I hate the way boards and graphics are now.

@enjoy_the_board Thanks. Can you tell me how these fit compared to the éS tribo x vireo x chomponkicks. I got these in a half size up and got an 11 and wondering if 11 will work for the tribo or if the toe box will allow for a 10.5. Again thanks for the help!

Its funny, my black Accels are less thicker and have more room than the black ones in this video and my white/cream Accels

@@NuclearcoreSkeletness see that's where my frustration is; they change the sizing and the "fattness" without letting us know so the sizing is off and you don't know until they're on your feet.
@@enjoy_the_board Yes, but I also noticed this with DC Net, I have black DC Net that have a thick tongue, and I don't even need (almost) an elastic tongue centering straps, while with my white DC Net, I have to tighten them really tight, to the point where they don't even look like skate shoes. Although I'm not a skater, just a hip hop head, but I don't like to wear shoes with a small silhouette like Nike, Adidas or the other hype brands
@@NuclearcoreSkeletness I prefer tongue straps in every shoe, they're not in th eS tribo/vireo and the puffy tongue slides off center all the time. I don't notice it functionally, but it just looks weird.

I'll put it this way; the previous (fat) accel OG I'd wear a 9, with these a 8.5 fits more like a 9 in the fat ones
