Most of it is around playing the chords along with the notes, and also have some kind of pattern and rhythm with it too. I learned a lot from a lot of other's people arrangements before I can arrange something myself, so I would recommend trying to learn a lot of different tabs to get some fundamentals!

For that part, you would want to use your right thumb to slap down the 6th string, and at the same time, use your right middle finger to strum down the strings. Just strumming 4th and 3rd is probably more difficult, so initially you should practice strumming down the whole way first (4th-1st strings) to get a good feel, and once you can control your strumming better, you can try and strum only the 4th and 3rd strings. I sometimes use my left hand or right pinky to mute the unwanted strings too, but ideally you should only strum 4th and 3rd.

​@@slasherdasher6713 Most of the time it is pluck (curling your finger inward). I'm glad you like the songs! My videos are one single angle since I don't have a second camera, but it is also because I want to show one continuous play through, instead of most guitar playing out there cut between different angles so they can splice together different takes instead of playing it all the way through once without any errors. I think this is more realistic, and show that the tabs are playable, without any unrealistic techniques that might need 5 million takes to get right all the way through.

Luckily this video has a nice angle of my right hand, so it could be a nice reference. Generally, it is best to rest the finger on the strings, since it is easier to pluck from resting, than to reach down to the string instantly. However, you can see that my fingers are actually in the air most of the time, which is due to the dynamic of strumming up and down, so it is easier not to try and rest the fingers on the strings. Also another reason is I want to keep the strings ringing. My best advice is to practice slow at first, and as you practice more and more and play faster, your right hand can naturally reach and pluck the strings from midair, so you can hover your fingers a bit more. There is one small part that I have to make a conscious effort to, which you can see pretty clearly in the chorus, which is using my right ring or pinky finger to stop the last string, especially during downward strum, so I don't accidentally pluck the last string. Glad you like it! Most of arranging guitar is just playing the melody and the chord at the same time. Other than that there are different patterns, strumming and percussion, stuffs that just became part of my toolkit as I played other arrangements by other guitarists and learn their techniques.

Emptiness and Catharsis and Wrong World are much harder pieces so I might be more interested in covering them instead.

Glad to hear that you are practicing my tabs! Chords are a completely different beast. Figuring out the chords is also extremely difficult for me, and for complex songs it can be pretty much impossible without years and years of experience and training. If I can find the chords online (ufret, gakufu gakki, other piano covers), I WILL use it. If I could not find chords anywhere at all, or want to practice figuring out the chords a bit, the first step is to move my capo so the song is in the key I'm most comfortable in (for me it's either C major or G major), which can be pretty easy if you already have the melody down. After that, if the song is simple enough, the chords will mostly fall into place given the experience I have on that key and if I properly feel and listen to the song, similar to how you can instantly tap a melody note without needing to try all the different 12 notes. You will need plenty of experience on that key, played similar songs with similar chord progressions before, and listened through the song plenty of time (more particularly the lower part of the song instead of the melody. try listening to the instrumental version as well). Once you got the root note down, it is much easy to decide between major or minor or the different variants. Chords are not comprehensible on its own, as it is only relative to the overall chord progression of the song, so don't try to loop 1 bar over and over to try to listen to that particular chord, but instead listen through the whole song over and over. Lastly, different chords to the original song is okay. It may give off a slightly different feel but that could be what you are after and that gives a cover more uniqueness. Sometimes I also omit off one chord in the middle of a bar as playing that chord will interrupt my pattern, or deliberately change one chord to another to give it a slightly different feel. Give your best at figuring out the chords and double check them with another source after, but sometime you should simply rely on chords online to get more experience playing instead of figuring.
