Keep it up, my friend! Take more screws out then, but remember to to mark every screw and the location where it came from (I used blue tape for this). I didn't unmount the steering wheel, so I only could pull out the dash a little bit, just enough to reach the heater core. I loved my Ranger, but gave it away 5 years ago. Check other videos too, there are many good ones. You can do it!
@@frankwaltermutzenberg7219 it doesn’t help that I’m doing it by myself I can’t seem to find what is pinching you get the dash out far enough to move the box to get the heater core
great job on the video, the only thing i would do first is take loose the hood latch and e brake first, besides that i thank you, you saved me a lot of time and money
working on my 02 ranger edge now. my first vehicle &. well. reliability I dont know about all of that. its like once a month somethings acting up. this month the heater core. last month airbag light. before that the anzo headlights were fubar & had to get a replacement. before that I had some problems with a squeaking belt/ idler pulley & my camshaft synchronizer were fucking up. & when I first got it I had my abs fixed by a ford dealership. & damn it took them all day to fixed the abs sensor & about $3-400for a $30 part
To get the glovebox out: open it and squeeze the tabs on the sides and let it drop down, then there's two little 7mm bolts. Other than that Godlike video, thanks broh.
We did one these yesterday. It took 25 minutes to pull dash and replace heater core. Then another 25 minutes to shoot a 5 minute video and finish it. This is a gravy job for mechanics. Dunno why the book gives 9 hours. That is taking advantage of the public for sure!! Here's our take on it.. ua-cam.com/video/a0inccE-8xc/v-deo.html
+Jake Payne (The Heater Core Guy) it took me 8 hours (4 hours pull the dash, 1 minute replace the core, 4 hours put back everything). I'm not a mechanic and this is my first and hopefully only heater core I ever have to replace. I would get pretty mad if a professional would charge me 8 hours for this, they should be WAY faster than me...
yep, you guys are awesome! If I did more than that one time, I would do better than 8 hours. But doing it the first time, I had to look at every single bolt and connection very closely, deciding if I should take it off or not, finding the right tool, marking the parts just in case...
Thanks for this video I watched other ones I got all kinds of stuff taken off that shouldn't have been this vid got straight to it after watching this one had it done in no time in my 96 ranger thanks
Great video.... Thank You! You saved me a TON of time while changing out my '99 Ranger's leaky heater core. It really doesn't take that long, especially because you identified all the bolts/nuts that need to be removed. I had first looked at the video that 'Mr. Car-Guy' had posted on his *easy* way to replace the heater core....what a hack job!!
Thank you so much for your help. Your video inspired me to do my 95 ranger with ac myself. Saved almost 800! The only thing I would add is that you need to move the air intake and the coolant reservoir forward so the ac can slide back far enough to access the bolts for the heater box. Great Video! 95 Ford Ranger 275000 miles
absolutely perfect video well done !I could not help but recognize the fact that this little endeavor is a lot of '#@!ing work!😝have a wonderful day!
muchas gracias
So lovely that it helped everybody else. I’m on my second day and still can’t get the goddamn dash out.

1:23 Did you remove the screws behind the A/C unit in order to pull out the heater core?
I think there is a few nuts to take out. Wow, long time ago when I had this truck.
Thank you sir
Thank you sir
This may be good for a robot or A.I., but the sht goes too fast for anyone serious about fixing their truck. 5 negative stars. Music sucks too.
Pause it 😂
@@hatestockcars ha, ha
It definitely helps to slow the video down. But, yeh, lot's of pausing.
Great video, helped me get it done on my 01 ranger
great tutorial! I had mine done in 1.5 hours
best video yet Thanks!!!!

Nice work....gotta do this on my '03 Ranger soon. Its starting to leak inside the housing.

Is the trim with the blue tape the unnecessary to remove pieces? Great video BTW.
Thanks helped.
