I've bought the MT Atom Helmet (in Chile), and have tried it for three days. At the store I bought it, they told me that Mt Helmets is related to Axxis Helmets (or viceversa), and Axxis has been in my country for about 10 years, and are decent at a mid budget price also. Refering to my opinion during these 3 days using the helmet, and in relation to its price (USD $170)...it feels pretty good. I use a XL size, and had trouble finding one that fitted my head and felt comftorable. Its snug, but not too tight. Has good paddings also. Ridding with it on, i feel that it does get a bit hot inside, and the chin ventilation is not that effective - I've had to rise the visor 1 knoch a couple of times (it has about 4 knoches before oppening it totally). One thing that came included with my helmet is a photocromatic pinlock, which is appreciated - but havent tried it on yet. One downfall is the system thay have to put on and take off for the visor - It sucks! Very hard to handle, and I had to struggle for about 30 mins....I was afraid I'd break it, and didnt enjoy that at all. The helmet feels pretty good, well made, and secure in protecting. It has various designs that are very attractive also. At that price, it is very competitive and should do well. It has both DOT and ECE Certification, printed on the helmet - not a sticker, and they are approved by our Ministry of Transportation also, which is very strict......The store had the ATOM 2 also, which is supposed to have a couple of other features, and the last Euro Certification, but was out of my budget.
Muchas gracias! Thank you for the excellent comment. Yes, the visor replacement system sucks! I haven't touched it since I put on the dark smoke visor. I also agree, the chin vent is pretty lacking. As far as heat, I find it depends on what and how you ride. If you're on a bike with a big ol windscreen and very upright, it'll be super hot because it needs airflow. If you're a bit more leaned forward with less wind protection, lots more air flows through. Ride safe!
I'm finding the throttle side handguard keeps loosening dosnt matter how much I tighten it
THANK YOU! 🤗 I work at a motorcycle dealership - I've changed MANY shields but with the i10? I was stumped! It was so freakin EASY after I saw this!
What do you think now? I am looking at this and the atom 2. Im a medium as well i think.
Sounds like it's time for a follow up video ;). Sooooo, I've been using it quite a while now, mostly for teaching, and for the requirements I had, it's performed well for the price. I use the flip up/down mechanism quite a lot when I wear it, and I had concerns about it lasting long, but it's held up thus far. Seals will in the rain, and I do ride in the heavy rain. I've dropped it a few times and it hasn't cracked. Let me know which one you decide upon!
@@motoarkyne mine is in the mail. It's here tomorrow or the day after. A medium Avon like yours
There's a reason why these items ship out with an "Instruction Manual" You're supposed to read it, before you fiddle with things.😓😁
Thanks for watching!
Atom 2 has the visor lock.
Thanks for that. An ambidextrous one too! Thanks for watching!
I didn’t know thanksgiving was in October now days
It is in Canada!! Thanks for watching and commenting. Please share and subscribe!
Thanks for your comprehensive review. I think I will purchase these.
Much appreciated! Glad I was able to help :)
Admittedly, this is not my best video, and my camera died without me noticing! Either way, I'll be installing this on my second helmet, so stay tuned for a much better explanation.
Difference between this and Storm SV?
I have not personally used the Storm SV, but based on the photos and videos I've looked at, it seems to be a more budget option compared to the Atom SV. But I wonder if it's market specific, or discontinued because it's not on the MT Helmets website.
Does this helmet has wind noise at speed of 100 to 150 kmph ?
Well, I can't say that I ride at 150km/h often :), but I can say it gets pretty noisy at almost any speed over 60km/h. Not as noisy as my modular helmet. Either way, I don't ride without earplugs. Thanks for the question!
This helmet is too loud. I regret buying it, if it helps.
Do you own the Hooligan glove? What are your thoughts on it?
reviews without real world riding=idiotic
Thanks for stopping by and watching the UNBOXING video, leaving a comment, and helping the algorithm! Stay tuned for an update video coming soon with all the answered you desire.
Just start using the i70 and see that it's quite snug fit inside... for how long that the interior pads gonna shape better fit with my head (cheek) ???
Typically I'd say it takes a few rides to get used to a helmet and break it in. Helmets definitely should be snug, but if it's leaving a deep creases on your forehead, it could be a size to small. Maybe I'll make a helmet fitting video!
I decided to add a blooper reel at the end of the video. Let me know if I should stick with this format!

Loving the outtakes

Still looking a bit loose
I appreciate the comment. I've had this for a while now, and it's still pretty snug!
Make a video with this smoked visor without stickers 😁
An excellent idea! In the meantime, you can check out the Pinlock video I just uploaded, which includes some viz of the Atom with the smoked visor. Cheers!
is it an intermediate oval fit?!!
I would say it is an intermediate oval, with a slight bias to long oval, just because I feel some pressure on my sides, especially with the front closed. But still pretty plush for a budget helmet. I appreciate the question!!!
Thanks for the review ;-)
Thanks for the comment! Ride safe!
I don't have a need for a helmet right now, but great review video regardless
Much appreciated! Ride safe.
Whats it like when riding (wind noise)
It's loud. Not sure if all modular helmets are the same, but this is much louder that my full face helmet, which I think is also loud. However, it depends what and how you're riding. If you're more upright, like on a cruiser, it's not nearly as bad as when you're tilted forward, like on a sport bike, where it produces a whistling noise. But! it IS really comfortable. For the price, and for my purpose, it's tolerable.
What are you thoughts about having a helmet with a chin curtain? Is that a must-have for you, or does it not make a difference for you?
its annoying
@@BoxingLegends2024 Really? Don't hear that much. What helmet do you have and what about it is annoying?
bought the same helmet in white this year, really like it. great ventilation, great visibility. got the gold RST visor. great in sun and cloud. same problem with the scratching. have a bell helmet with a gold visor and not an issue for 2 years. Get the Pinlock..i resisted and then on a rainy day i was almost blind.
I was considering the gold visor as well! Which bell helmet do you have? Yes, pretty disappointing that the visor scratches quite easily. Although, I popped in the new visor about 6 months ago, and it's holding up much better than the first one, which only got about 3-4000km of riding! We'll see how this one holds up.
@@motoarkyne its a Bullitt in blue sparkle with the gold bubble shield. really love it, super comfortable, very quiet, but it has no ventilation for the summer months. will be using it in the fall again.
Did the chin curtain make the helmet quieter?
Yes. Probably a 15-20% reduction. Doesn't sound like much, but anything helps. It certainly helps eliminate the wind blast going up the front of your helmet, which I appreciate.
This fellow reminds me of Prince Naseem Hamed
That's so funny you say that. You're the second person to say that to me. Let's hope I can keep my fighting weight!
Hey man where did you get you helmet for $200?
Thanks for the question! I ordered it from GPBikes.com. You'll want to wait for one of their tax free sales, and I believe at the time the helmet was on sale itself. Ride Safe!
It looks like you're in luck. GPBikes just started their tax free sale.
Where does the Sena Bluetooth adapter go? I’m not referring to the HJC proprietary that goes in the back of the head but the regular Sena headsets
I actually picked up a Sena 50C headset some time after making this video. That video will go up eventually, and I'll demonstrate how I installed it. To summarize, I used the cavity in the back of the helmet for excess cable, and mounted the headphones and mouth piece in the cavities carved in the helmet. They're not an absolute perfect fit, but the carve outs are welcomed. Getting the side mount was the most challenging part. Thanks for watching and for your comment! Ride safe.
Thank you I'm gonna buy this colour so this vdo pop up. Thank you For your advise.
My pleasure. Ride safe!
@@motoarkyne Just got the helmet. Love it very comfortable fell safe.😊😊😊😊
@@Suparirg Now that you've had it for a while, what do you think of it? Did you get the chin curtain?
El llavero esta insuperable 🇨🇱
Muchisimas gracias. Perdona por lo tarde en responder! Saludos.
How did the instillation go bro? I have a svartpilen 125 and I'm thinking of picking these up. Recommend??
Hi Mark! Installation was easy once I figured out the trick to the expansion collar. You can watch the installation here: ua-cam.com/video/I1B3ZWwugKo/v-deo.html&t I can say they work relatively well, and I like that they double as lever guards. I have no real complaints. As for other options, the Svart has handlebars, so there could be something from barkbusters, acerbis, etc that are more wraparound and offer more protection.
Hi. Thanks for the vid. Was looking for the chin curtain part number but was a bit hard to see. Would you happen to have it handy? Also Cdn so am considering Fortnite or GP bikes
Happy holidays! I picked it up from fortnine. Check it here fortnine.ca/en/hjc-i10-chin-curtain?. Looks like the part number is HFP51E3000100. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the question!
That was kewl. The I-70 has more options (sun shield) but weighs less. The I-70 looks sleeker on your head. I purchased the I-10 about the same time as you. It was used for a couple weeks and now I've shelved it. I have a 15 helmet collection. I now use the Daytona 3/4 helmet as my main helmet and the Sistema II as my secondary helmet. The Sistema II is about the same in comfort/quietness as the RPHA helmet, the RPHA winning with a slightly better interior feel. Thanks for the review.
I just ordered my visor from Parts Canada it's going to cost me about $45
That's awesome. Wish they were in stock when I needed it! Thanks for watching.
pretty good video review! btw. there are 2 small notches from beneath the lever protector, you can adjust the distance of the handguard from the lever with those. ;)
:O My mind is blown. I will need to check this! Thanks for watching.
You are misleading your viewers. It's not Evo set, it's advanced set. Correct the title of your review. In fact you are describing Oxford Evo model and how it works but showing us Oxford advanced.
Hi! Thanks for pointing that out. And here I was under the impression I had ordered the EVOs. I'm not misleading anyone, it's an honest mistake. I'll make the correction in the title. As far as the function, I'm literally reading the paper that come with the product, so if that's incorrect, that's on Oxford.
Are you stupid or what? You have two screws from below to move the protection in front
Where did you buy the visor. If you could send a link that would be great
Hey Hey. Thanks for the comment. I got the visor at The Visor Shop. It's a place in Ireland! www.thevisorshop.com/en/HJC-HJ-31-Pinlock-Ready-Visor-Fits-I70-and-I10/m-24933.aspx

Just bought it on Amazon! Im so excited! I got a Honda Navi also
I just posted a little review of the Navi. It's a fun little ride. What's it been like to own?
I just bought that helmet on Amazon. Im pretty excited!
That's awesome. Remember to get the Chin Curtain!
Great job!!!
Goo Gone for removing the old glue. Don't know if you have one, but an air compressor is great for removing and putting grips on. WD-40 is great addition for sliding grips on as it is slick but dries quick and leaves the grip tight. Yeah, I know, everyone wants to give advice..... Anyhoo, you did good for first time. Hope these help you to extend your riding season a bit.....
No idea about modulated heat before. I ride year round, but have only used my heated grips twice in my 50+ years of riding. Ok, so I live in the sunny south. I can totally understand all the extras needed for the far north. A man that actually reads instructions? Grips appear nice in the video. Now to see how they perform and feel. I've had grips before that look good but felt bad. Good presentation.
Yes you do know where Amazon go theirs...C.....H.....I......Bingo....... I bought a cover 30 years ago and it is still in great shape......mostly because I've only used it twice. Haha, Was thinking about it earlier today, to use on my new scooter. Referring to one of your older videos, I purchased the HJC I-10. Great helmet...EXCEPT it is loud. I know it isn't the same for everyone or different bikes. I used it on a Kymco AK550 and it was deafening. Really. It was worse than my 3/4 Daytona helmet. I was about to purchase the RPHA 90S and someone recommended the Sedici Sistema II. Works great. But the ringing in my ears can't be removed, just kept from getting worse. Anyhoo, good video.
Glad you're liking the vids! In my follow up video, I pointed out that it was indeed loud. It's not as bad a other helmets I have, but it's about par for a sport helmet. It IS a nice helmet though. Cheers!
Did you actually put that protector there with all those labels still on in there? lol
Absolutely! Like, I said, it in the event I chose to not keep it. But they're staying in there now!
Just got my I10 Maze in white from GP Bikes as well. Great helmet, love the Maze graphic. Replaced my 5year old shoei quest. This is a great helmet for $239 - excellent bang for buck. Solid unboxing vid and I had Same experience. The pockets for the comm system also fit my Cardo Freecom (saves buying proprietary comm system) Actually returned the Scorpion gt930 because with the comm speakers in place it put too much pressure on the ears.
Thank you for your comment! This is great information. I have been looking into the Sena camera/comm system, so it's nice to know the space in there is indeed roomy, and compatible with Cardo as well. I appreciate the support.
Great video!
Really appreciated!
