I've had something similar, on a smaller scale, 3 times on the same job. I just charge the customer and just literally see my time as money, and as long as the ratio is right I don't let it bother me. I just subscribed to your channel BTW.

Compression or not the fitting size is the same, the difference is that threads are added to accommodate the option of ring compression. If u have the years of experience like he does you would understand / take different ruts and never leave the job with a doubt if done safe 👍🏻

Charge them for the time to rip the shower valve out and replacing for the new 1 due to the customers error if it was your fault what would the customer do? Exactly flip it on them if they want it changing then say what would you do then they will see it your way and not even question you.🤬😡🤬 that would be me.

Charge again for labour and materials and push your next job back a day or 2

Its not allways about the money ive been in this position worked nights and weekends to get ahead or catch up to find out there was absolutely no point yes you can charge but the works still got to be re done and you cant get that wasted time back it is extremely frustrating
