2000 Team Best Rookies Errors: WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE?!
That was Great!! I have the Complete set of the 89 Fleer signed every card even the errors I have 8 different of the Bill Ripken. & 4 different Randy Johnson RC. I have bought alot of Trout, Judge & Mantles with the 89 fleer background. Recently I found 2 very small replicas a tie clip & a Key chain. I could go on forever.
You are quite the 89 Fleer expert. That's impress to have all those autos. You should make a video about that.
No man. I saw the ebay listing. I'm no fool. That all-star Wade Boggs is worth a billion. Can't fool me... can't fool... ugh... still looks great in the binder though!
There's no pulling one over on you! Lol
Just opened a sealed box recently and ended up with 3 Milt Thompson error cards! Have trouble finding an accurate value for them though. Only two listings online for sale. Any ideas??
Wow! 3? That's a hot box. I didn't have any notes to place a value on it. Those 2 listings are no doubt inflated. Also no sold listings to see. You can set the value! However I wouldn't get too excited. I'm thinking in the neighborhood of $5.
Hey nice video i have gary ward about 15 of them from this set like 5 are cut from factory way off centered almost showing bottom card top border at factory you think its worth anything have not seen one
Those miscut cards are pretty fun. However, from this era of cards, they are quite common. If you search for miscut or offcentered cards on Ebay you should find plenty. Maybe not of your particular card, but that doesn't mean it is sought after. There is a market for these cards, but you are looking about a $2 value. Sorry I don't have better news for you. My opinion: Put it in a toploader and keep it.
Fun video, Paula Abdul is still a hottie...there has got to be celebrities on dodgers cards, i hate them btw.
Haha, as a Giants fan, I don't care for the Dodgers either. But I bet you're right.
I have the rounded corners and off center variation
@@sreb15 LOL! But do you have the "autographed by Bonds in my handwriting" variation?
@ of course lol
Love the ending! I was just thinking I miss your original opening when you rub your cat's belly and there he is!
@davidkurvach3993 Bagheera is doing well. She doesn't really care to be on camera anymore it seems. She's older, fatter, and grumpier, but doing great. Thanks for noticing! I bet she'll make more appearances.
I bought one for $100…..great videos man!
Sweeeet! Thnx
Congrats on being over 2000 subs…for vintage cards that’s huge!
Wow, thnx dude! Appreciate it. I'm definitely working to get that number way up.
Great video.
My brutha! thnx
Anyone with an "i'd buy that for a dollar" clip gets me to subscribe.
LOL, that clip is so eloquent. It speaks to me. Thanks for the sub!
2003-04 Topps Basketball Walter McCarthy I believe it is card number 14. It has Kobe driving on Walter. I believe there is also a Steph Curry card that has Pete Davidson on it but I can't recall the set/year.
Cool! I'll check those out. thnx
Still cool. I'll look out for it.
Sweet! I don't think they're too hard to find.
Do you think we can meet Monday at the 17th/Center St LCS New Hobby at 1:30? I like to get my Monday stuff out of the way to schedule shop customers and repairs. I plan on going even if you are not there. I will try to find something for you in my collection. Henry
@henrys3629 hey man! That actually sounds great. I'll be there. See you tomorrow.
lmao...this is absurd...its not a variation...its a print defect....the chit people come up with ...and who "confirms" it? bahahaahhahh
I consider myself an error expert. I mean, I didn't go to school for this or anything. I confirmed it. While we may not agree on the term "variation", hopefully we can agree that this version was mass produced and not just a one-off card with spots on it. There's been many valuable cards from the 60s that have mass produced print defects.
Hey Hey legend!! Hope all is well! Always enjoy your content! Happy Holidays!
Thnx brutha! Happy holidays!
great video.
My loyal viewer! Thnx dude.
Thanks man! I'll be looking in my cards! Appreciate it! New subscriber here as well
@@warrendinCLE awesome!!! Thnx
Psa 10 is worth a lot more
Yep, 10s are always worth a lot more than raw.
@ I was shocked how a 2$ card turned into a 200$ card . I bought many of those cheap and have got 10s on a 4$ purchase it’s hard to find centered and great corners unless pack fresh
@tubbynuggettheguineapig7975 cool! Yeah I think a lot of people assume it's easier to be a 10 than it actually is. These junk wax cards can be difficult to get 10s.
Meh
Lol, I know dude. It's a find. But not a great one.
Last one sold 269.00 in psa 10
@josephedwards6919 I'm sure you're right. 10s are hard to come by. I'm only talking about raw.
Bonds in a 10 is 250.00 what are you talking about 2 bucks
He is talking raw dude
@@coopstain1728👍
I just opened hundreds of these 1992 Don Russ cards and literally the whole box is no “dot” after INC errors. Trying to find some info
Hopefully finding hundreds of "no dots" tells you how hard they are to find. They are worth nothing. It's a trick by ebay sellers. I've made a couple videos about this. Ignore what you see on ebay.
New sub, thanks for sharing got me digging for my 87 bonds cards lol!!👍😎💯
Awesome! Glad to hear it. I hope you find some.
Well, I at least found this interesting and apparently I just never noticed I also have four of these variations among my many copies of this card. Thanks for the vid!
That's awesome to hear! Thnx
Many cards have print defects, they are not variations. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching, even if you're wrong.
I think you are right. I dont think this is a "variation".
Dont listen to that the barry bonds card is a error and is worth money people because is won a the best players
@@lauracook2810 👍
1987 topps Barry bonds is a error card for sure its the 3 numbers on the topp of the card so yes it is worth money dont be fooled people just trying to draw you away so they can get them and make money
I'm worried that you're serious. If you have to convince people the card is valuable, you are fighting an uphill battle.
Very nice- that could have been a profitable flip opportunity. Thanks for Sharing and Good Collecting 👍❤️
Haha, you can imagine my disappointment when I realized I didn't have one. Thanks for the comment.
Great vid thx 👍 I can’t stand when people think printing flaws are variations which de-value them - not increase the value. U or someone should do a video of reported error boxes. When I was a kid I pulled 33 Michael Jordan SP’s out of one box of ‘91 Upper Deck baseball (bought at Price Club). I’d love to see a video compiling other error/juiced boxes….
I haven't personally looked into that. Juiced boxes would be a cool idea.
That's Printing Flaws. Not Errors. lol
And some printing flaws can be worth a ton of money... if it's a recognized variation.
@Hungryman97sCollectibles I remember grading companies grading them with an MK and they could never be a 10. It's no wonder I quit collecting cards
@@jebbthetrainkid1281 yeah that's annoying

@@MrAndyhdz yeah, sorry, that one part was a little loud.

I have noticed a variation of the 1984 Dan Marino Topps rookie that has a white blotch in the lower right part of the card. Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere.
@ThomasCourt-c2f I've recently started collection football (again). I'll look into it! Thnx
How does PSA justify a PSA 10 grade for the Bonds RC when there are printing defects on the base card and the base error variation?
@joeschmoe2011 I think your question illustrates the problem with "paying for the grade". PSA, for instance, will grade based on centering and condition. So one card in a 10 may have tons of annoying spots whereas another 10 may have no spots.
I just picked up 5 1987 Topps boxes of wax packs... I'm giving them out as Christmas presents because they were priced right... I'm giving them to 5 different people that don't collect baseball cards just to see if they become new collectors. 👍👍
@bouncerslabrealnature9143 very cool! That Bonds rookie is a must in any collection, even if it is cheap. Wtg
No extra value for now...until a shady eBay seller manages to pull a fast one on a buyer with the "Rare Error" tactic. Those listings are probably already popping up on eBay.
@maksimtribiani1335 I really hate those listings and I hope I'm not the cause. I'll become what I've seeked to destroy!
I think collectors have gotten pretty wise to those listings. I honestly believe when 2 dollar cards sell for thousands that something really illegal is going on like money laundering, drug trafficking or both.
Glad you told value it's only 2 bucks
@@garyradaker3375 👍
Just common print defect no variation
@garyradaker3375 I consider it a variation, because this "version" was mass produced. But common for sure.
My favorite of all time is the 1992 Pro Cards Minor League of Steve Karsay who was the Angels pitching coach this past year. It comes out of a wax pack of one of the MOST LIMITED products EVER. It has a piece of scotch tape on the negative…hence you can see the tape on his card. Karsay also gave up Piazza’s home run on the game after 9/11.
Wow! That's a cool find. I hope you hang on to it.
OMG you cannot be serious with this garbage!!!!! Get a different hobby!!!!!
Don't ruin this for me... I'm about to make millions.
They have been making 1987 topps baseball for almost 40 years now! The printing machines ho 24 hours! So if this is special to u....good luck!
Ha ha, that explains why they haven't gone up in price!! It makes sense now.
@Hungryman97sCollectibles boxes and boxes of these I threw away
Not a variation, more like a host of print defects🥱
@topps85401 this is the comment I was waiting for. So if they made thousands of these cards with the EXACT same defects, that wouldn't be a variation?
no it would be an entire print run defect. The print defects were unintentional. Not an error or variation in the slightest. I’m a player collector of Bonds and would never imagine distinguishing those print defects as a unique card. Moreover I do consider copyright variations unique so my requirements are loose by player collector standards.
@@topps85401 I don't believe our definition of variation is the same. The 1967 Topps Ed Spiezio #128 missing letter card is worth a ton of money. It's rare, but confirmed. Although definitely NOT intentional, I would call it a variation. The black streak Bonds is not some card I found spots on and am trying to pass it off as valuable (as many on ebay do). If you would call the Spiezio card a print defect, then maybe you and I can agree on principle, but not the term. Thnx
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles debris and or dust on a printing plate causing printing defects such as fish eyes, marks or lines do not make for a variation. The card featured in your video was part of a print run that had plates with these characteristics causing the black mark and fish eyes. Im not familiar with the 1967 card you used to compare but it sounds like it was an error not printing defect if a letter was missing.
@@topps85401agree Nate...not a variation.
I purchased a few vending box cases of 87 Topps pre-covid. I'll have to search through my 50+ Barry Bonds now.
I bet you'll find plenty of these!
I love when New ones become popular like this! it's fun to search again through the old cards
Heck yeah!
It's a hobby. Still have my cards since I was 6yrs old. I'm 66yrs old retired. Yet hoarded up until 2002. Just completed the 93's finest refractor set. Never Graded anything. It's a hobby. Can't go fishing every day. Yet fishing is cheaper than the new modern Era industrial sports card complex cards. Happy Thanksgiving.
I found a card with a fingerprint on it that was on the printing plate or negative. You can see a partial design reverse. Could have been on 1 card or 1000 cards. What was the ending about?
That would be cool to have a card with a fingerprint. I can see how it could happen. Yeah that ending was a little random. My buddies are I were remodeling one of their kitchens and had to take down the nasty old drywall. Hey, I got a stack of card pages, slightly used, if you're interested in meeting up. No charge of course.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles Maybe at the Center St shop? Or unless Tiptons again. The "New Hobby" does have a couple of junk boxes to go thru though, but not much else. Let me know when or where. Heck, I meet people at the Goodwill bins all the time.
@@henrys3629 Yeah, either is fine. Let me check my schedule and get back to you. Monday is probably a soonest I'm available.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles Monday or Tues is when I go into town, but no rush.
Great video! Have you ever seen a texture variant on the 87 Topps set? One of my Maddux 87 Topps Traded rookies is textured on the surface like high quality stationery - not shiny like the Tiffany. I made a video with close ups on it about 6 months ago. I have no clue if this was a mass produced official ‘variant’ or what, but I thought I’d ask!
@HighPopProfessor hey man. Thanks for stopping by. I found your video about your card. It was definitely helpful to see the video, rather than shoot from the hip and try to answer your question. You obviously know the difference between base/Tiffany/traded. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. Maybe some kind of quality control issue in printing, or bad card stock... not sure. Sorry I couldn't help. Hang on to it!
@ No worries! Thanks for looking into it and getting back to me so quickly!
The 1990-91 Hoops Stuart Gray card also has the Menendez brothers on it.
Very interesting! But I don't think I'm seeing it. I'm interested to know how people think it's the brothers (or at least one of them). If you have a source, let me know.
I enjoy these kind of videos. No one else really goes over this kind of content. Pretty unique discovery and interesting variation on the Bonds card. I also appreciate you going over the difference between print defects vs variations. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!! I enjoyed making it. Hopefully I'll keep finding cool errors. I appreciate the comment.
