2013 Malibu Steering Gear Replacement : Part 1 The Removal
This adventure is removing the steering gear from my 2013 Malibu. This took about 2.5 hours to complete. I thought I had a damaged steering gear. Spoiler Alert...I didn't.
This removal should be the same for any 2013-2016 Malibu

    How to you change the canister vent valve solenoid?

  • @BigJeddak187
    @BigJeddak187 Місяць тому

    Same as everybody else said. You're out here doing Gods work bro. It literally took me 12 minutes to change out, and that's including a once over. I appreciate the guidance 🙏🏼. Oh, and because you gave a part number, I was able to order online and took the part I originally bought from O'Reilly's back. The aftermarket from them was $70, and the oem Bosch was $33. Very thorough video man

      @craigriffle2803 the vent valve solenoid is right next to the fuel tank.

    I had the 442 code and replaced that valve on my 2015 impala. It fixed the problem. Pretty easy fix, as newer cars go, and it wasn't real expensive.

    Regardless of torque specs, use some blue locktight on those hub bolts. I have a 2015 impala LT. Love the car. It has 75,000 miles, and as time goes by, I'm sure I will be dealing with this. I know all the tricks for getting the hub off, thanks to UA-cam videos. I just put brakes on all around, so I'm familiar with the car now. On a different note, the only thing I don't like is the front suspension. It's a bit harsh, and it has always had a annoying clunking on bumpy roads. If I ever find someone who knows what causes that, I will fix it.

    Bro are you fuckin serious, i dealt with not having ac since i got my car, my temp been reading -40 degrees this entire time, its been 4 years WTF. Never did it occur to me that it would affect my AC, the temp would fix itself every now and then, but not forever, maybe just for a couple mins

    I purchased AC Delco Part 12690512 and installed it. However, the original part that came off the car was 12610560. The parts look alike. I hope they are actually supposed to be interchangeable. I will wait to see if the "permanent code" PO496 actually clears after driving for awhile. About a week later, after a few short trips the "permanent" "Check Engine Light" went out. I guess the problem is solved. My thanks to you for the great video!!!! About a week after my "check engine" light went out a warning came up on my dash that the fuel filler cap should be tightened but when I checked the cap was as tight as it can be. I wonder if this happened because the part that I used was slightly different from the original part - although it looked the same. After about 2 months of use I can say this part works perfectly and fixed the problem. The gas cap warning never happened again.
