@@mickeymichelle There is a blue reset button on the ice maker(towards the front on the right side of the ice maker) press and hold until you hear an audible noise. If that doesn’t work then the line might be frozen just where it enters the ice maker. In that case defrost for a bit longer(at least 10-20 more minutes). You may want to use a hair dryer to speed up the process. Then press and hold the blue button to reset the ice maker. Let me know if that helps!

It will work. Sometimes it is tricky. Just be very rhythmical. It might take 30 seconds or so of continuous tapping.

@@davetee3589 The only question I have received that I do not have an answer for.🤷‍♂️ If your screen doesn’t work but you still have to defrost in order to remove the ice tray then you might have to unplug the fridge and then use a hair dryer to direct warm air up into the tray until you can remove it. Then use the hair dryer to completely defrost everything. Plug the fridge back in and then press and hold for a few seconds the blue reset button on your ice maker(it’s on the side of the ice maker toward the front of it). After that I would call Samsung and demand that they replace your ice maker for free as it’s a known issue and they have a permanent fix for it. www.classaction.org/media/samsung-service-bulletin-ice-maker.pdf

@@asherbenruby The engineer screen is easy to get out of. Just press the home icon at the bottom of the screen. As far as turning off Force Defrost mode you have two choices. 1 do nothing and it restarts after about 20 minutes or 2 press test cancel.

That’s strange. It has only ever said engineer mode. Regardless, see if there is a force defrost in your mode.

@@JosephGonzalez-cb2eu If you wish you can go back in engineer mode and press test cancel to manually stop the defrosting. However, it will automatically stop and restart your icemaker all by itself if you leave force defrost running for about 20 minutes.

@@mpaige7081 if you simply do nothing it will automatically turn back on. Or you can press test cancel just above the force defrost selection. I would just run the force defrost multiple times until everything is defrosted and dried fully then just hit test cancel just to be sure. Then wait a few hours before checking the tray to see if you have new cubes. Edit: BTW force defrost automatically stops after about 15 mins or so…so you have to keep running it over and over to fully defrost everything. If you need to be quick then just use a hair dryer at the same time as using force defrost.

@@kimjongun9926 it makes ice fairly slowly so I waited overnight and checked the next morning.

@@maryb6509 use a hair dryer. It will work better than the steamer. Once you get the tray out then continue to use the hair dryer and a towel to remove all the moisture. Most likely you need to gently push the tray up and then out as it will have a latch to keep it securely closed. You can’t just pull it straight out. Be gentle.

If it is still stuck then you have to use force defrost multiple times until you can remove the tray. Remember to open the tray you have to push the tray up and then out gently.

@@shaunasheb5090 Probably a lot of ice buildup! It will take multiple runs to melt enough ice so that you can remove it. Don’t worry it will come out. Be patient. I find if you run force defrost for 5 minutes then press test cancel and then restart force defrost over and over it works faster.

@@chrismartinez7799 Yes I use a hair dryer also especially if the water line coming into the ice maker is frozen. If you defrost and it still isn’t making ice then that is usually the problem and the hair dryer is the best solution.

@@KMCGmom In the settings menu make sure the ice maker is turned on. Make sure your water line is not blocked or turned off. There is a blue reset button on the ice maker on the right side of it towards the front. Press and hold that to reset the ice maker…you should hear a slight noise when you do that. If all else fails you can unplug the refrigerator and wait 15 seconds then plug back in. The final solution I would try is resetting the refrigerator to factory settings in the settings menu.

@TechJunky777 I pressed the reset button no sound. I did press it earlier before shutting off power and I did hear the chime.

@@KMCGmom Ok then just make sure the ice maker is ON in the settings menu. You could even turn it off and then on again just to be sure. Then wait an hour or so to see if you get some cubes. If that doesn’t work then unplug the refrigerator and wait 15 seconds and plug it back in.

@@rajeevneupane it stops and resets by itself after about 15 minutes or so. So you have to run it over and over in cycles. you can press test cancel to manually stop it.

@@Charlie_127 It only runs for 15-20 minutes then automatically goes back to running normally. Best thing to do is run it for 5-10 mins then manually stop it by pressing test cancel and then immediately running Force Defrost again…do that over and over until it’s completely defrosted. It seems to be faster that way. Glad I could help! 😎

@@markmerberger7997 Glad I could help! Samsung knows about this problem but has not issued a recall yet. There is an ongoing class action lawsuit against Samsung in the USA. Some people have had success with calling Samsung and demanding that they replace the ice maker with an updated model.
