Welding Defect - Porosity | Types of Gas Cavity | Herringbone/Worm Hole Porosity | Causes & Remedies
Welding Defects can be defined as the irregularities formed in the given weld metal due to wrong welding process or incorrect welding patterns, etc. The defect may differ from the desired weld bead shape, size, and intended quality. Welding defects may occur either outside or inside the weld metal. Some of the defects may be allowed if the defects are under permissible limits but other defects such as cracks are never accepted.
Gas Cavities are common in weld. If not removed it can harm the entire structure. This video explains why they are formed and how they can be reduced. Explanation is given with images & Radiographs
Types of Gas Cavity
1. Gas Pore / Pin Hole
2. Blow Hole
3. Uniformly Distributed Porosity
4. Cluster Porosity
5. Herringbone Porosity / Worm Hole Porosity
6. Root Piping
Type of Shrinkage Cavity
1. Crater Pipe

thank you, very complete and clear information
very good brother
Thank for providing this information. 👍
Never done this before from any one brother , keep go on
I love it
Thank you brother, I'm almost 5g welder..❤
thanks
Thank you so much ❤❤
❤❤❤Verry usefully
i dont know any thing about fillet but it says to follw bitiths standard. my plate thickness is 150mm and presure is 160 bar. what should be the fillet sizes?
good job
If leg length is different how to calculate
If sketch was provide for angles between it might clear more and easy to understand
thanks for your time and explaint !!!
👍👍👍👍
How many positions can do a welder who is qualified 5F in pipe ?
About electrodes specifications
Thank you so much bro❤
Nice
thanks mate
WeldeR, and lots of RRRrrrrrr s😂
Please let me know the standard for classification of porosity, blow hole, shrinkage cavity as per size?
Very simple you make for understand Thanks for this sir😊🙏
Thanks for the video!!! What's the difference between the throats?
I love you
Thank you
you don't need to remember every factor, just calculate this :- cos(max angle/2) ex:- cos(90/2) = 0.707 cos(100/2) = 0.642 cos(106/2) = 0.601 cos(113/2) = 0.551 cos(120/2) = 0.5 😉
😮
You gave a so good lesson about symbols. Thabk you very much. I noted all the things you shows. Im going to keep in mind those . Becaus ther is an exam for me to face in the future. Thank you very much sr.
Dear sir, If there is single butt T joint and welding in horizontal position than it will be 2G position or 2F position welding. Please reply🤗
Where did 0.707 come from?
Ok
Really really good video
What an explanation sir
Mantap bosss
Hi
Great video!!
Hi
Brilliant thank you.
Please do a video on other welding defects also.. Its a request.
Engineering diagram they mentioned 6mm fillet weld...this 6mm leg length or throat length ?
Sir we want more videos please share
hi sir plz more videos this sir
👍
what are the condition to select 1 miter weld,2 convex weld 3 concave weld and how these three can be welded to achieve required shape as in practice it is difficult to get these three varied shapes
Very informative video sir. Please make video on welding Engineer
500 Lux is recommended but shall not be less than 300 Lux....?
Sir can you please tell me how to achieve throat thickness in SAW in 1F position? If I try to achieve it my leg length increases.
Nice
Thank you 😀
