My name is Alex, and I make car reviews thank you can understand (I hope).
Here's why the Acura TLX Type-S is ALMOST a Perfect Sports Sedan
Today I reviewed a 2021 Acura TLX Type-S, the sportiest version of the Acura TLX Sedan. Acura only made 2,000 TLX Type-S for the 2021 model year, and it had an MSRP of $52,300. In this video, you will have a full tour of all of its features and driving experience.

I have 2022 s its nice cat
I don’t care about the gas mileage thing.
Canada sold less than 700 of them accross the country and I owned one. I'm very happy with it, very good city and short distance car. 🙂
I wish it was. I went with the g70. Very happy.
Nice thorough review! You know the car inside and out! Thanks!
I saw one of these on the street ONCE here in California. For comparison, I see Tesla cars driving around every day
Love this review and you make it so fun, entertaining and many new insights ... I am getting it the Machine Grey Metallic RF 2023 in Indonesia tq Alex
How are maintenance costs for owning this?
U need the performance wheels come on lol
Glovebox, not center console.
Really thorough review. Not sure why touch pad is so hard for you….
What do the 6 dots stand for? You talked about them but did not say what they were about.
Very Doug-like
Hilarious!
Great car tour. Thanks for climbing into the trunk, Alex.
Great review! I'm currently driving a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD 6 speed manual transmission. I modified my car to fully enjoy its potential. The new type-s is definitely my next big purchase.
Dude sounds like a junior Doug DeMuro. Was waiting for him to give it a Doug score at the end.
I have this car now. My only big complaint is that there isnt wireless apple/android auto. Other than that. I love this car🔥
Not gonna lie. I actually figured the touch pad system out within 5 minutes of a test drive. Not that hard really. I understand that auto reviewers, review many vehicles. So I can only imagine it's confusing for them because they review so many & when something new comes along, it throws them off. 🤷🏻♂️ really not hard. 5 minutes. That's all you need
Not my favorite part of the car, but agreed it took me a day to get used to it.
Camaro Rs, V6 with Manual is the same price. More car. More Engine. Great Handling...and you won't get made fun of by your bros, or brushed off by women.
2:52 strut?
Honda's are always about feel they have soul.
5:48 it's not impossible it's called touch and feel probably you don't have go to the doctor and check yourself lol
I remain on team scroll wheel
To play the next song is to push the fwd button under the volume knob. By the way it's not impossible if you actual own the car
That is true, there is that button. But the touchpad in my opinion is unnecessarily complicated. Scroll wheel > touchpad!
Genesis G70 3.3T >
Might have to review that soon 👀
The Genesis is more fun to drive because it’s faster and it’s so tail happy. However, I think the Acura is by far a better car in terms of overall build quality and handling.
I get between 25 and 27.5 on highway in Comfort mode with my Type-S keeping the car in adaptive cruise. Mine is Tiger Eye Pearl and I have driven coast to coast and I am complimented daily.
Impressive!
My question is why the duck you wearing a sunglass in the rain??
Wearing sunglasses while reviewing is an instant +1,000,000 views instantly obviously
Might be his persona, his signature look. At least he doesn’t say “thissssss is the TLX and I’m gonna show you the quarks and features” 😂
@@kevinlindsey9537worked out pretty well for Doug 🤷🏾♂️
It’s a gorgeous car indeed!
It sure is!
i live in de is this ur car or whos is it i got questions
It’s a family member’s!
@@AlexAutomotiveCarReviews i just bought mine i stay by rehooth we shud meet with ours
I love this car but it just doesn’t make sense - it’s not priced to compete with the Genesis g70 or kia stinger gt2, and for a couple of thousand more you can get the class leading m340i.
It definitely sits in a weird niche… but for what it is, I was impressed!
It’s priced for reputation that it’s reliable.
Awesome looking car, great review. Now I just need to drive it 😂
Thank you thank you!
The Type-S is honestly the better for someone who wants a speedy, fun, and reliable daily driver. M340i is for someone who just wants to be the fastest guy from red light to red light and probably will trade out of the car for a even faster BMW in 2-3 years. One major difference is the Type-S will garner more attention since its such a menacingly aggressive and uniquely gorgeous looking sports sedan, I recently took delivery of my TLX Type-S and I have gotten so many compliments on this car in the 2 weeks that I have had it, not to mention its FUN to drive.
Very true, it does garner more attention that a BMW M340i would! And when you’re in sport or sport + that sound is just incredible
You could say that about Genesis G70 3.3t also! I test drove type S and Caddy CT5V and walked away with G70 more car for the money, paid $57K…Acura wanted over $60K and Cadillac wanted $70K!!!
@@marvelvsdc6611 well isn’t the CT5-V giving you a V8 under the hood though?
@@marco30599 no! You’re referring to the CT5V Blackwing-it’s actually a supercharged V8! Those sell for $90-$100K!!! The CT5V has a turbo six cylinder that has 360 hp and 405 tq if I’m not mistaken. Again, the CT5V drove very well, handling (updated magnaride) and acceleration; the interior is more spacious than G70 but you can’t beat the “most bang for your buck” G70 3.3t with sport prestige package…it is on par with the CT5V for around $57K!!!
@@marvelvsdc6611 ahh the blackwings are crazy fast super sedan lol
Add a touch screen, digital dash, 360 cam and wireless CarPlay then you would have a winner.
And eliminate that weird infotainment system touchpad which works 30% of the time!
Don’t forget the HUD also! 😬
@@marvelvsdc6611 there’s a few things the Type-S is missing. If I’m not mistaken I think the lower end TLX models actually have a HUD and rear heated seats- both of which the Type-S doesn’t have!
And 40hp more
@@AlexAutomotiveCarReviews like the Civic Si, the Canadian TLX Type S has more features than the US counterpart.
Good review
Thank you!
I would seriously consider buying one, if I was moving to say Hawaii or an Island in Alaska. Its a great little car if you don't need to travel far, like on an island, but I just doesn't realistically make sense anywhere else due to the range. Also I think they came out with it today charged 15k and advertised it more as "an enclosed scooter," rather than a car it would do far better.
reving on a cold start is the last thing a bmw needs 😂
And yet Bmw does not code a rev limiter on their cars, nor has it ever done so on models except for true M cars. I will however grant myself the benefit of the doubt with the m340i, since it comes with the b58 and not s58, so technically it is not a full on street legal race engine, but a proper overtuned performance engine and should therefore be able to rev out the full rpm range on a cold start. However, with that being said, any reasonable tuner hired by bmw would code in a soft limiter at higher rpm to prevent the risk of any damage occurring to a cold turbo engine, even if the limiter does not enter until say 5-5,5k rpm. At the end of the day it is still a bmw, and bmw has always been about the excellence in wolves clothing.
Very nice reviews for the followers and views you have, congrats and keep hustling
LET'S GOOOOO LUCID FAMILY 🙋♂️❤🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🕺🕺🕺😁😉👍
Nice job with the review... It was a little distracting when you said "go ahead" so often. Likely you use it as a filler sound like people us "um" because it has no linguistic value to your message. Other than that though. Nice job.
mines a 2016 and it has a push button for the trunk near the licence plate underneath the ledge.
Neat! Looks like they changed it for 2020
I love Apple Auto! 😅 gr8 review!
After 12 years of ownership I will say. " it is a cheap, easy, fast little ugly thing that gets me to A-B. Easy parker and mingle to drive. I get everything and anything in this. Comfortable and no cracking noice from anything. Yes it isnt fancy, but look at the price. The woorrsstt nightmare is winter but after all that I would say 7/10. "Cheap" maintenance also
Machine gray color?
There's one thing I do agree with is that we should look at the long forgotten i-MIEV again! Anyway Mitsi is having another go with their new EK X EV with Nissan's help with rebadged version Sakura.
Didn't even show us the car driving?
I love my 2021 automatic jet, black MX5
Doug Demuro would be proud
There are three ways to open the trunk. Where your hand was underneath, near the license plate, more to the right, is a button you press.
It looks like a golf cart..
The best review ever
