    For $1000 this should be 100% stainless steel. Rust is completely unacceptable for a smoker that is only 30 days old. Someone in the finance department (bean counter) got a hold of this and over-rode the decisions from the engineers.

      Two different Pellet Grills. The Mammoth is a pellet Smoker. Recteq is a pellet grill. Recteq is hands down better quality and you can grill indirectly and smoke as well. Where the mammoth is just a smoker. It all depends on what you want.

    I'm thinking of purchasing this to replace my 42" Masterbuilt upright electric smoker with a cold smoke box. Love the Masterbuilt, but the heating element and control panel dies. I'm on my third one, and the control panel is about to fail again. I'm willing to spend more for an electric smoker that will last and consistently smokes from start to finish. Hence, the extra smoke box I have on the Masterbuilt. Without it, it will smoke for about 2 hours, and you'd have to add more wood. I have to watch videos on how to maintain pellet smokers. Coming from an electric smoker where a heating element controls the temperature and you just dump the ash tray and grease pan. To something that operates a bit differently. Good presentation, and thanks for those details.

      @webersbbq No, I'm in Colorado on the front range. Pure facts what you were saying about the wind. East of here is always windy. I just get a lot of snow. And I'm starting to think my smoker isn't designed for cooking in cold weather. Or it's just cheaply made. My new discovery is that the Bluetooth application isn't supported. It's okay, it's time for an upgrade. And unbiased materials like yours dictate what products are out there, and if i can make it work for my scenario. My buddies have Treger and PittBoss, but they too also have little things that go wrong with them. I would really like a traditional smoker, but due to where I'm located, I must have a controlled device. So, electric smoker is what I have to work with. I agree, a handle would be nice for the Mammoth, too.

    Is there easy access to clean ash from the fire pot? How hot did it have to be to smolder the wood chunks/chips? @GrillaGrills

    • @webersbbq

      Great Question. Yes , there is an easy access to the burn pot. However there is no separate access to the burn pot.. simply take out the heat detector and the water pan and you will have access to the burn pot for cleaning. My review video coming soon will address that. Thanks for watching.

    Been waiting for a video on these. Curious on the quality since this is their first smoker since they got bought out. How are you feeling about the casters? They seem very small. • @webersbbq

      They were bought out? The Casters seem to work ok. The smoker would benefit having larger casters no doubt. It moves around with no issues on smooth services. Build quality is good. Just needs a pull/push bar haha

    • @bignicksmeatsntreats

      Yes. In 2022 they were bought out. I had to put my Silverbacs on the all terrain carts to keep them from blowing over in the wind. I was concerned with the small casters how it will do in the wind. Let me know when you get some wind how it does.

    How many 40lb bags of pellets would you have to use to smoke a 9hr Brisket?

    • @webersbbq
      @webersbbq 8 місяців тому

      Normally you are looking at 1 pound of pellets per hour. Sometimes less but very rarely more 1.25 pounds per hour. This grill holds heat very well. So 40 pounds of pellets can usually last 40 hours of cooking time. Depends on the weather and grill you use.
