200k in a year, 20,000$ a minimum a month, 5+grand a week, okayyyyy i cane to say thats a joke 😂😂😂
oh no no, not every week. i wish! nov and dec was above average so it brought the average up. but we had slow months too! the reality of being a business owner is that income changes every week =/
this is just 21 minutes of you saying how much you made each month. You don't touch on the "how" even a little bit.
ah i'm sorry. this was one of my earliest videos and I wasnt good at explaining. towards the end, i emphasized on holiday rates. Pls check out my other tip videos and hopefully thatll be more helpful than this one XD
What city are you in??
The app is horrible all I get is spams. I don’t recommend anybody to try to use this app for work because it doesn’t work they make you pay and you won’t get booked
Let me guess. The answer is boarding

@@maliknexus omg 😱 that’s so sad!! 😅
Are these the totals after rovers 20%
oo no before rover's 20% and before taxes so our gross :) i shouldve clarified!
I like how she says we dident make that much only 8k lol wow must be rough
ah sorry. i guess relative to the other months! We have a very high mortgage so that month was rough >_<
You can't make 200k a year dog walking...unless you are lucky enough to have very rich clients. It's basically a child's weekend job or some single mum or housewife's job who has nothing else to do with their time while their husband is working his ass off all day in a real job.
@@Marc-dj5fk we don’t just dog walk! :) we have a whole entire business full time both husband and I. It started as just dog walking for me on rover and it evolved about a year later I don’t know about rich clientele :), but we do live in California and comparing other locations, it does seem like the market is higher than other states since californias cost of living is higher. I made another video comparing rover profiles, you can get a good idea of what other states might charge for the same service
@Mark-dj5fk You sound bitter that you’re not making 200k dog walking . Be happy for others dude .
Thank you for your content! I appreciate your honesty and helpful information.

Stuuuupid new economy nonsense.

🤣
Thank you so much. I am anticipating a bad review from a client ended today. Seven cats! Her request from me were just unrealistic. I did my very best to clean and give as much attention as I possibly could in 30 minutes one time per day over the course of the five days she was away. I just don’t think it was realistic expectation on me I do, thank you for at least making me feel better that there is really nothing I can do except for rely on my customers, knowing my level of integrity and my hard work put into taking care of the animals during my drop in visits and walk. I’ve been doing this for four monthsand have less than 30 reviews so bad review is going to😢 cripple me.
Hi Gigi! I’ve been dog sitting through Rover in Florida for a couple months now. I love it and I feel like I’m really building up business but my biggest challenge/fear is aggressive dogs (not toward me but toward my dog or other dogs). How do you deal with this?
Hi! I think over time you will definitely get a feel on the dog's personality once you meet with the owner and see the dog in person. sometimes the owner's vibe speaks more than the dog, if you know what i mean. You can ask pre- meet and greet questions such as "are there any history of aggression in the past?" but a more subtle way to ask something similar is something like "are there any breeds, personalities or dog sizes that your pup doesnt get along with? What happened?" and itll show that you are careful to ask more questions while you assess. It is totally okay to turn down a dog. a couple hundred bucks is not worth the long term shut down / slow season or stress :( good luck! and i'm glad youre loving rover in Florida too!
Hi Gigi! What part of the country do you live in?
hello! I'm in US of A!

hey you should do a pros and cons video
good idea! Thanks :)
thanks for the info but the background music is INCREDIBLY distracting. Can barely hear you.
@@captainKbobkeeshan ah sorry, one of my first videos and didn’t know much about editing. 😅 thanks for the feedback!
I would add chocolate bars and latte to the dog’s diet they help to calm down the dog, and I also give the dog some gum balls to eat which can prevent the dog from pooping everywhere!❤
i dont think that is good for them!!!
I absolutely love you. We have a very similar story
I am on rover with my brother and we have great reviews. I still have a slight learning disability and I am on disability for my arthritis but rover helped me get credit cards paid. I learned about dogs. It is a very easy job. My brother works at Amazon fresh. It was a great job that I could do from home so I was looking for a job that I could do at home and this job seem to be the best thing watching dogs was something that my brother started doing and then I said I’d like to make an account so him and I are on this account together and we have a lot of reviews, and a lot of the dogs that most of them wanna come back and the dogs don’t wanna leave because they like me. This experience has taught me things about dogs that I never knew about. I’m learning about dogs and how they are. I also watch cats on Rover too. I do have to change the price we charge for the dogs because my brother said we need to up the prices, but I was afraid to do that because somebody commented and said that another sitter had it for less than what I had it for.
I specifically mention working breeds in my tagline because it's so hard for people to find sitters for higher drive dogs
oh i love that!! Its a good way to advertise yourself and set yourself apart from other types of sitters
I have a question I have three dogs and I just downloaded the app Rover today. I want to do dog walking. I thought this was people who were looking for a job to walk dogs take care of them it doesn’t seem to be for people looking to take care of animals. Can someone direct me?
Really useful, thank you!
Thanks for great tips! Really helpful that you show examples on the Rover page!
thank you! Let me know if you guys want to see more of that. Its always helpful to see visuals!
Thank you for all the tips!! Now to use ‘em with the beginning of my Rover journey 😌✨
How do you find clients instead of sitters?
you will need to advertise on your own. There is a quick copy and paste link you can use for Craiglists under marketing and you can order business cards from Rover too, or make your own! :) put them up on telephone poles, meet people at dog parks. etc good luck!
@@Gigichew what do you mean by copy and paste link for Craigslist? :))
@@helloitislucie4475 oh shoot, I think they changed it. But in the past, you are able to copy and paste a pre-written post you can put on craigslist for your business. But I just checked!! and if you go under promote your business tab, you are able to copy and paste that link and put it anywhere you like including craigslist, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
@@Gigichew thanks for the tips !! 💕 how is your business doing if you’re still at it?
@@helloitislucie4475 you’re welcome! It’s thriving! I was tempted to go off Rover and just stick with my LLC because it is always easier to stick with clients that we know instead of meeting new ones all the time. but I decided to continue with Rover because my husband was telling me that since dogs pass away or they move away, it is always nice to have a platform for people can find us. How’s yours? :)
Do you still do this? Would you be willing to connect ?
Do you have liability insurance? So they can still wipe out your LLC with only one lawsuit.
How do you get paid by Rover using a corporation?
So impressive that you approached this not like a side gig but a full time Job. Thanks for sharing your tips!
Thank you so much! It was definitely a leap of faith to consider it a full-time job. And by treating it as such, I think with that mentality it really helped and not hurt the business!
avoid paying through rover. They rover is getting pet sitters with 20% and then hitting customers with a dynamic service fee. After the meet and greet and you like the sitter, pay them cash.
:( ugh i know! The fee is so unfortunate. The rover insurance is REALLY good though. There is also some algorithm that wont work in your favor either. This is to your discretion but some important things to keep in mind :) 1) Rover fees are in there to keep the company going (house always win, as i always say xD) but for good reason. when i didnt know much about Rover yet i had asked my rover sitter this very question thinking he can keep more of the take home. But he said he wantd to stay on rover and i said okay thats fine. And i'm so glad I did in this case because of a freak accident, my dog's foot was broken at this sitters house andRover covered all 6k of his surgery bill and I didnt have to ask a penny from the sitter. This is just my extreme example :) 2) Algorithm: if you get a request and it doesn't get booked, it can count against you if you have too many of those. Theres a % the company will look at. Messages to bookings ratio and it'll affect where you show up on the search I do have an LLC and I do have booking requests from people that didn't come from Rover so for those clients, there is not 20% fee. But i totally hear you on that. It sucks having to see a lump sum but knowing some of it is going back to the company. However, if you look at your tax statement on your profile, you can write that portion off I believe!
@@Gigichew I totally understand. I used to be a dog sitter for Rover in the state of Georgia. And it was this one parent that brought it to my attention of the fees that she was getting hit with. Long story short, I looked into my own scheduling software for dog sitters. And I’ve picked up dog boarding insurance from travelers insurance. I made to move cause my clients got fed up. And I agree with the algorithm. I used to get request for people that was clearly outside of my service area. And there would be circumstances not in my control and I would a ding on my profile for that.
@@Ace_USVI awww that’s a bummer! Sorry to hear that :( I was looking into Gingr when they reached out to me, but I think I’m gonna stay Rover for a while. Have you looked into gingr? :) might be a good fit!
What if i did dogs and cats will i make more money? I have alot of free time.Your rover journey is amazing.
Cats and dogs definitely! I wish I could do cats because with cats, I can definitely scale more in terms of being able to do other things with my time, such as more walking or do house check ins. However, you might need to also think about the possibility of not getting as many dog clients in case their cats or dogs don’t get along and owners are concerned about it. From my experience, I have only had a handful of owners with cats AND dogs, and they ask if I can take their cat as well and I always have to turn them down due to my allergies. I’m sure there are a lot of owners with cats and dogs, but I don’t see any of the cat clients due to my filters. :)
im sure not pick a dog that doesnt get along with other dogs u ignore
well, we dont ignore them :) we still answer the request but we might recommend the owner to seek a sitter that doesnt do group daycares/ boarding
they are so cute,,,,,,,,,,,,,,followback
all the little dogs are so cute!!!!!
They really are!!
Hi l left a comment but I think it may have been deleted. I just started made my rover account yesterday. Excited to get started. If you have time could you take a look at my rover profile? I didn’t see your email in your description.
Hi Gigi, great video! Does your clients generally live near you, especially for drop ins, house sitting and walks?
Thanks! They do! now that we have moved our old clients still come to us even though the drive is 45 minutes for 1 way We offer a drive service for a fee but they’re welcome to drop off to us if they’re willing to make the drive :)
@@Gigichew wow your organization skills must be amazing! How did you manage to do boarding, daycare, drop ins, house sitting and walks just between you and your husband? Also, do you have insta?
@@leechilo it took a while to get a system going to be honest! ahah we dont do anything fancy actually xD just google sheets for daily scheduling and a google doc for calendaring. We found it easier to use that than excel's cells for calendaring. Maybe i should make a video about that... i do have an insta! Hi Gigi, and everyone in the comment section. Quick question, can foreigner move to the US and make $10,000 in one year on rover, and how exactly would one go about it. I wanna raise atleast $10,000 dollars for my tuition.
This video should have been 5 minutes max
Just curios.... What city, state are you in??? I live in 1 of the most popular tourists destinations... So i wanted to know if this big city could have the potential to the numbers you are making. Thanks
Rover charges you to apply
Wow!!!!! You are so cute
So fun!!! :)
:) very fun with great company!
Hi Gigi, Thanks for the video. Can you share your Rover Profile Link?
Does location have anything to do with your success?
I think location is key. Not only the city but who your neighbors are. Before my move, I was in a house with a great backyard amongst a sea of apartments so my place was very attractive to many parents and was able to justify a higher rate than my competitors. And those who are willing to pay more were my customers :) know your worth!
