What a session! Met up on track with a beautiful C8 Z06 and we swapped positions back and forth for a few laps. Somewhere in the mix I pulled off a personal best lap time of 2:04.6. First time at the Glen and it's like I had already been there! I put several hours of practice in the sim before this trip and it paid off big time. Already knew the track so it was just a matter of finding the limits in my car. What a cool track and beautiful scenery looking down at Seneca lake as you enter the track from the pits. Out on track with me is good old Craig Wilson in "Goldmember"....

One of my original instructors Ralph Watts goes for a ride in the LSE30 at Summit Point in 2021! Ralph took right seat with me back in 2008 the same year I was solo'ed. He has a TON of track time at Summit Point and I'm still using tricks he taught me to this day! OK you guys I'm still here. The LSE30 is getting an engine replacement so in the meantime... ...My BMW E92 M3 around VIR! Testing out new mic positions and this one is almost right. Need to cut out the wind noise but it's close. Still getting used to the car and plenty of room for improvement, but in this session I was able to crank out a 2:11.5 which I think is decent for a stock car on street...

Last track day of 2020 on worn out R-comps at VIR! Last upgrade for 2020 was a residual brake pressure pressure valves to keep the pad knock back down - seemed to work pretty good as I got the back straight braking down to the 2.5. How much prep to that e92?
@@comfort_in_discomfort Hawk DTC70 brake pads, stainless steel lines, and slotted rotors to get rid of the OEM drilled rotors, everything else is stock.
@Zach33 Awesome thanks. It sounds so nice. Any oil starvation issues on that V8? I know back in the day when I drove at Mid Ohio and a small Waterford Hills in MI in Mustangs, prep for oil was required. Nice drive.

*THIS* is how to do an onboard camera set up. Extra points for picking the sound up off the rear camera - that makes the E30 sound SO SWEET! (I can't stand to watch videos and all you get is the wind noise - can't blast that and not blow up the sound system at the house!). Great racing, hope you see you all guys in Utah.
It’s a great looking car and clearly has a ton of power. Hate the noise tho. Would love to see these swaps use an S58 instead
I’m partial to the V8 sounds myself. Amazing though that that S58 has over 100hp more than my old LS1. If I were to do it again, perhaps a S65 would do the trick. When I did the swap over 10 years ago, neither of those were options either because they didn’t exist or cost. And now rather than go through the trouble of another swap I’d rather buy the M4 😁

Clearly you have much better tires and are pushing the car harder in the corners (great driving!), but I was amazed at the speed difference between you guys down the straights! I wouldn't have guessed the C8Z would be THAT much faster down the straights! Thanks for sharing that awesome drive!
Yes R-comps vs street tires definitely makes a difference in the corners. I didn’t know it was a Z06 until AFTER the session when he came to say hi, so yeah imagine my surprise too 😂
that was crazy fast but I just watched a guy doing 2:00 in a z51, not bad for a street car.
Pretty amazing that there is so much out there capable of 2 or sub 2 lap times right off the showroom floor.

Wow. Great driving. Awesome car. Great sounds. Us folks in the corvettes wish we had the guts to drive an e30 like this. I can run a similar lap time, but it is nowhere near as impressive as what you are doing. I am going to proceed to binge watch all of your videos lol

Great instructing. It's fun and rewarding when the light comes on and the student gets it. Huge improvement from the start to the finish of that session. When my students don't go all the way to track out, I tell them they put race track out there, we might as well use it.

What are the car safety requirements forthis class? I dont see a roll bar?
The car is stock, no roll bar needed. The group is TrackDaze HPDE, like most HPDE programs any production car is allowed as long as it passes a basic safety inspection.
